Does LibAlts actually IDENTIFY unknowns, like another player's character alts or just let you catalogue knowns? Is there an addon that links unknown character alts to mains and vice versa?
There is no way for an addon to determine which characters are on the same account, which characters are played by the same person or from the same computer or even from the same city, or which characters are alts versus mains. An addon could make educated guesses about which characters in your guild or on your friends list belonged to the same person if you were online for long enough, by looking at how many times A logged off and B logged on, or vice versa, in sequence, but it has no way to know for sure. For instance, if you have two people who share a computer, an addon that made a guess like this would probably assume the two people were actually two characters belonging to the same person.
LibAlts requires you to define who is whose alt/main, and that's really the only practical way to make that link.
