A few days ago WAU stopped loading my add on lists. My first thought was to just reinstall. After reinstalling however, I am no longer able to even get the program to start up. I have tried resetting my Winsock key, but that has not affected the issue.
Here is the error I am receiving:
An unexpected error has occurred. Please make sure you are connected to the internet and restart the application.
The type initializer for 'WowAceUpdater.WowAceFilesServer' threw an exception.
Everything had been working great for a few weeks, when out of the blue this happened. Thanks for your work on this program. Hopefully someone will be able to help me resolve this issue.
I do not think so. The only firewall I use is the default Windows firewall, and I had not changed anything when it stopped working. It had been working great for quite a while before this.
Edit: If I repeatedly start up the application the error message changes slightly to:
An unexpected error has occurred. Please make sure you are connected to the internet and restart the application.
The type initializer for 'WowAceUpdater.WowEnvironment' threw an exception.
I?m getting the same error.
I?m on Vista64 which I know isn?t really supported yet, you too?
It happens only with .44, everything before runs fine.
Just to maybe closing the circle around that bug.
I have tried removing everything and reinstalling the latest version, but it hasn't helped the problem at all. I have never worked with a ClickOnce application before, so I'm not even sure what to check out.
The problems started occurring with version .44, but now I can't even revert to a previous version.
There was an issue with the Calibri font. If you have it installed, make sure you have calibri.ttf along with the other calibri*.ttf in your windows fonts folder.
I was actually just able to get it running for the first time in weeks! I installed Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 Beta 2 and now it seems to be starting up. I'm going to re-create my UI once more since I have screwed it up while trying to find a decent alternative to WAU.
If the problem comes back, I'll make another post. I still don't know what the problem was exactly, but at least it started up.

I hope that helps somehow.
No, not really. See the solutions thread about clearning your temp directory.

Greetings, Thorsten
There is a problem either with its generation or reading of the xml data files.
You should check the solutions thread for how to clear your temp directory.
