So, the latest on my adventure with WUU. It was only updating the wowace addons before. My assumption that it wasn't saving the siteid's for addons from other sites was correct.
My solution.
I exported "all addons" to my desktop.
I manually entered the siteid's.
I saved the file.
Then I opened WUU again and imported "addons" from the desktop file I just edited.
I clicked yes to install ( these were mine anyways.)
I went to file and saved.
Then I scanned, checked online version and upgraded all.
Works like a charm. :)
It is now working for every addon in my directory from curse, wowi, ui.wow and wowace. (Except for the new autoprofit which downloaded as a .rar, lol. Seems we can't do .rar in wuu yet. :P I put in a request to Cathmor (the guy who adopted autoprofit at curse) to use .zip.
We shall see. :) That little autoprofit addon has been my thorn for too long! Just wish there was an ace2=. ;)
Nice :)
WUU should support .RAR files on Windows with no problems - it's the only format except .zip supported (use zip like normal people!!!1one *shakes fist*)
Also, I think Minimalist has that "auto sell greys" functionality ;)

As for the other bugs (specifically the unicode bug), I'll fix them in week 2 or so, sorry - I've been sick since the 22nd, and I'm going on a week's vacation next Sunday - after I'm back, I'll make another (the last?) WUU 1.0, and start working on the new branch.
The reason some addons won't update correctly from Curse, is that WUU tries to download release versions, while the only 2.0 compatible for some mods (like Cryolysis) are tagged as beta. WUU 1.1 will have an option per-mod to also check the beta version on Curse. Another per-mod option I'm going to add is "no-ext preferred" from WoWAce (all per-mod options may be set to default to either enabled or disabled depending on what you prefer ;)). I'll also add an option to delete the mod directory before updating - it's simple for WoWAce mods, but other sites often have several directories in one zip, so I have to finish the code I've written to handle that.
The server was unexpectedly assigned a new IP while I was gone :( I saw it was "down", but I couldn't do anything about it since...well...sun and beach and stuff ;D
at first i have to thank you very much.
This nice little piece of software safes me a lot of time (even though it took muc time to set up all site ids :))
It seems to work quite fine... except of one addon: Auctioneer
I have told WUU to look at 'AuctioneerComplete' for new versions but WUU seems to ignore the beta releases stored there.
How can i tell WUU to use the beta releases instead of the stable one?

Yeah, sorry, the current version of WUU won't grab beta versions (except from wowace ;)) - I'll add that as soon as I finalize 1.0 (so it'll be in 1.1 or 1.2).
Also, if you had many addons not in the master list, could you please send me an export file? My email is on the page - I'll add the file to the master list, and it'll be easier for future users ;)

I've taken the opportunity to update the WUU webpage a bit. I've gotten some complaints that WUU seemed like much work to get started with, so I've removed the old list with stuff that mostly applied to version 0.4 with a simple step-by-step ;D Some of the questions from this thread have also been added to the new FAQ there.
I have just noticed that the setting for hiding related addons is not saved. ;)
Did you mean the "ignore" setting? The hide setting is only cosmetic for viewing. It was working for me just fine. There was a mishap a few days ago with agunitframes, but I think it had something to do with what someone did to the addon, or a new feature in the way it saves data. Had to reset my settings for a few addons.
I am using kc_items in addition to running the beta of auctioneer sometimes (just to build a database for when it goes live.) KC_Items is set up nice for me now, just took me awhile to get all the toggles right, lol.

LeJordet- I like what you did with the site. =) Oh, and let me tell ya. I am loving this gem. Especially on crazy patch days like this one that breaks addons. Saves me SOOOO much time going to all the sites. I will forward my export list to you as well for site ids.
Very excited about your next version of WUU! I tried 2 other mac updaters from this community. ;P They were fast and smooth...but they only worked for wowace. You have the swiss army knife of updater's here, a multi-site timesaver.
Thank you for developing this!:)
PS
Where is the smiley menu(key)? I don't see it when I am writing a post.
Ok, cleaning up some code, fixing the unicode error, and releasing the final (yeah right) 1.0 today - after that I'll start on the path to 2.0, and finally get some new features in :D
its good to see that this fine program is evolving. :)
Keep up the great work!
A small wish for any future versions: Is it possible to save the window layout (window size, column sizes) through programm sessions? I have to reorder them every time i start WUU.
Btw: the 'hide related view' issue is gone. It's is saved now. Don't ask me why ;)

Yeah, the UI will be redone on the way to 2.0 to fix some of the more crippling errors in it - WUU started as a commandline script that just "stupidly" updated all your WoWAce addons, and the first iterations of the GUI was mostly me learning the wxPython GUI library. I've got loads in store for the newer versions ;)
* Bugfix: unicode in XML files (all are correctly exported as utf8 now) (1.0.123)
* Bugfix: The TOC file color stripper should work now (1.0.123)
* WUU will now provide clearer messages in the status bar when working (1.0.123)
And, as I've posted on the site: 1.0.123 will be the last v1.0 WUU I'll release, barring crippling errors of some sort - I'm now starting development of 1.1, which will eventually become 2.0
Feature request: check the addon dir for a changelog (or something close enough, in the absence of it), and show it on the right pane or in a quickly acessible place. Sometimes addons are updated and we don't know what changed! :)

You can select to hide 'ignored', 'outdated' and 'related' addons in the view.
When i restart the program 'related' are enabled to show again while the others are hidden.
I know this is a small cosmetical issue but sometimes, it's the little things that makes the whole great ;)

What does the log say when you start WUU? Mine says:
I hate to be cliché, but "it works for me" :(
(I hate when things work for me - makes it difficult to debug (like the auto updater not working for everyone :( ))
I know exactly what you mean. I am support manager and know that the worst issues are the ones, you cannot reproduce.
But let me tell you that at the early state of developement this program does one very important thing: it works. ;)
I will check the log file as soon as i am at home.

I'll post them on the web site and here sometime during the weekend - will take a while to type up everything ;)
