12. I am seeing "Error during update" on some addons!
Update again - they should update fine. If not, then report the issue.
I've tried updating multiple times, and keep getting the same error. And it's on all of my addons, not just some of them. I'm running the most current version of WowAce, and never had this problem before. Nothing has changed.
I seem to be having A LOT of trouble installing Wow Ace Updater. I have Click Once and .Net 2.0. Everything i try i get that same error saying: "Cannot start application". It's only worked on my computer about once. Any help please? I've been trying for 3 weeks. Nothing seems to work :(
Ragnor, you are probably a genius. I could not ever remember installing clickonce, so I kept ignoring that solution...turns out, I dohave that addon...don't I feel stupid. I will try that fix tomorrow and it will probably work, thanks for opening my eyes for me.
I've read several threads about this and still cannot find the solution to my problem. When I try to install it says, "Application cannot be started. Contact the application vendor."
I've gotten the new .NET stuff and added wowace.com to my trusted list, deleted all versions on my comp as the website suggests, not sure what else to do?

why is it I have to update one mod at random, then and only then will it show me the ones that actually do need to be updated? Prior to doing that none are faded out that have updates and don't update when I use "Update all Mods".

Because WAU doesn't show which mods have updates available until after it runs an update or you tell it to refresh (or whatever the command is). This is a feature, not a bug.
May I suggest that the issue with corrup local caches mentions that you may be seeing an error similar to:
"The referenced assembly is not installed on your system"
Because that's what I was getting, and from skimming I wasn't able to tell that this meant I had a "corrupt local cache". (This is not a gripe; just a suggestion! :))

It seems that no matter what my settings I keep getting this message (for all addons) over and over.

Getting this also on my wife's PC. So, you're not alone. I'll let you know if I track it down to anything. Curious, are you running Vista?
I too am seeing this on the wife's PC, and she is running Vista, think it might have something to do with admin access? Which is odd because I set her as administrator for her account anyway.

I disabled UAC and Windows Defender, which I thought would be enough, as well as trickled proper permissions down to all of the addon folders. The strange thing is that I had not run WAU on hers in some time and a few of the addons actually did update, but the majority still give an endless stream of: "Addon_Name - Error During Update (Will Retry Automatically)"
I am getting the "Error During Update (Will Retry Automatically) error. And i get it every time. It just spams the window when I try to upgrade or install a new addon. I just got a new computer running Vista, could that be the cause of it?
Since I loaded WAU this morning I've been getting the "Ready: (Data is not cached old)" message. I've tried to fix it using the method posted, but the Temp directory isn't where it should be. There is a temp folder at C:\Documents and Settings\User\Local Settings\Temp, but I can't delete that, and deleting the wowace folder in there doesn't seem to be helping.
