I have a strange problem with Wowaceupdater 1.9.44 on my laptop. No matter what i do i can't get it to save my "WoW Install Directory" in preferences. It defaults to C:\Users\Arsenal\Documents every time i open the Preferences panel. I can use the browse button to select my wow directory ok, but clicking "Ok" never saves it. In fact i can choose any directory and it doesn't save it, so its not just my WoW directory.
All other options in the Preferences panel save correctly.
Its probably worth noting that i'm using an Apple Macbook Pro and running Vista under bootcamp, but this is the first program i've come across any issues with... and even then i can't see why it would be related.

:) It happens on vista64 too apparently, but native xp,vista32 are really the only 2 platforms which are supported. Everything else is gravy.
Has anyone had any problems with embedded/disembed libraries w/ 1.9.44?
What I mean is, that when I tried to update without externals, it downloaded some libraries like Ace2, etc... when I redid everything and decided to go with externals, it missed libraries that I know are being used.

Ditto here. I came searching in the forums to see if anyone else had come across this. Also, I noticed the version number on the update page is incorrect or the binary hasn't been updated. The app says ".654", the install page says ".656".
Oops..forgot to add that I'm running Vista Business (32 bit)
If anybody has any problems with UAC and WAU, the following will fix your problems:

5. In the textarea, write your windows logon name and hit the Check Names button
6. In the Groups or User Names area, find your windows logon name and click it

9. Hit OK
10. Wait
11. ???
12. Profit!

May be I miss something, but right clicking on my World of Warcraft folder does not give me any security Tab.
I have a Property Tab opening on 3 new tabs but none allow to apply why you said.

Any clue for a noob ?
Are you using Vista? This procedure is only for Vista since no other Windows OS has UAC yet.

It seemed to download libraries when it was set to use embedded libraries. I'll play around with it tonight again (delete all libraries, change settings, save, reload program then reinstall all add-ons).

Unfortunately, that didn't do the trick for me (assuming your post was in response to mine).
The "Wow Install Directory" variable still bounces back to the "Documents" directory under my user/account folder structure.
Turning off UAC, as suggested by the developer, isn't an option. Are there other possible workarounds or a non-dotNET version of the updater that's still functioning?
EDIT: My noob question has been answered in another thread. Please disregard the question. I'll have a go at one of the other updaters.

It seems I had "automatic dependency download checked... my bad sorry.
Ever since I got my new computer and reinstalled WAU, the program continually crashes.. whether or not I click anything, but almost always at the end of updating
Not sure if this is the right place for the thread, so feel free to move it, but I'm sick of the crashing and am looking for a fix.. I don't know how to post the "Error Report" that's generated by Windows..
Clicking the column headers in WAU has no effect. i.e. click LastUpdated to see what's been recently updated, and nothing happens. Same for Name, Version, etc
Also, if you click the Help tab, and go to the Download page is lists a later version, than the updater will auto-update to, yet when you manually install it, it still shows as .44 The one listed on the download page is .65 or something like that.

Perhaps this was just mentioned in the old WAU thread - I don't recall... Uncheck "show groups" in the View menu and you can then sort by version, etc.

Not sure which download page you mean... Current version is 1.9.44.654 - you're probably just reading it wrong/getting confused.
