that shirik dude sounds really amazed by the trojan ;P
I would just like to clarify that I do not "approve" or "advocate" of anything going on in this file. What you read in that IRC chat is slightly out of context.
I'm staff over at WoWInterface and one of the many things I do there is to disassemble and analyze uploaded executables to ensure their safety. I do enjoy it and laugh at these types of files when what they are doing is extremely obvious (as you see in the above chat, where it took me all of about 5 minutes to find the offending code).
I do hope that WoWUI removes the file quickly (if they have not already) and hope that those whom may have accidentally changed it can return themselves back to a safe state before anything bad happens.
It has to be someone from cursed.com. They aim to sabotage their competitors because they missed the opportunity to overcome them by service and quality.
If you use the cursedupdater you are supporting organized crime!
Think about it! Maybe there is even a cursed-mole inside wowui which uploaded the keylogger bypassing all approval-protocols.
It can't be a coincidence that wowui gets attacked after the massive failure of cursedclient!
Yeah, Thrillseeker, troll much? (If I see correctly the vast majority of his 10 posts are some form of trolling. One helpful post on hunter macros though... ah well). Defamation from paranoid dillusion gets the insanity defense maybe ;)
Here some goodies:
1) Threat of violence:
I want to punch someone as hard as I can in the face! Presumably someone at cursed.com...
2) Wishing death by starvation:
And you don't stop eating meat for the benefit of any group! You should stop eating...
3) Admitting not being constructive:
Yes, it was serious.
Although I admit it wasn't that constructive.
I think insanity defense is the way to go :D
Seriously it isn't WowI's fault that there are nasty people out there who seek to harm folks. I wasn't that impressed with their response but I'm sure they'll try to improve. If anything Kaelten and Seerah have gone out of their way to try to help and protect the community through that incident. And I just hope that we won't have another one of these for a while, or ever.
Thrill, you are funny :D I quote 3 out of your 10 posts (and of that 10 things that you posted, 1 was actually constructive). You claim one was quoted out of context, I see it differently but you can have your perspective for sure. You quote 3 out of my over 1000 posts of which none is hostile or trolling in any way. However all 3 are out of context, or kind of not really relevant.
Yeah I didn't contribute much but loads of lines of lua code that people actually like to use and give constructive feedback as I can (hundreds of posts?) and contribute to fun when that's there to be had and yes I do speak up when I perceive someone as trolling and being hostile... You are right, you kinda totally proved that i don't contribute! Or so.
Here's some constructive feedback: You are entitled to opinions, but not to calling people criminals (libel), promoting violence (pointless anyway) or trying to troll/flamebate (fanboi accusations) and generally being a nuisance rather than someone who has something to add.
You could be more constructive, or simply go away. Else I'd vote for a ban. Thanks.
Recently, a version of "MetzUI" and "Wowaceupdater" were found to be infected with a keylogger that got past the usual screening processes. There was a delay from when this was found to when an administrator could properly remove these by a few hours.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused and we are looking at why these two files slipped through the net and we're taking necessary measures to prevent this in the future.
And yes that link Xin posted is live and a keylogger. Beware! No comments on that one that warns everybody. I have reported it as keylogger.
I have also reported as contains Trojan/copyrighted work as I seriously doubt Curse Inc. would permit the uploaded of material for which it holds the copyright, to a third party site (and a "competitor" no less).
I have also posted a comment on the download regarding its copyright issues. Let's see how long it stays there.
No the point is that that thing is a virus and not a copyright violation. It should be taking down because it's harmful for anybody who runs the exe!
Edit: Your comment is misleading. There is no may here, this absolutely is a virus and noone should download it until it's taken down.
Avast reports the exe in there which btw is named MetzRemix.exe as this Trojan: Win32:Agent-LWO [Trj]
Absolutely do not run that exe. And this very very likely is not the curse client so I doubt there is any copyright infringement. Noone cares. We care that noone gets keylogged and stuff.
I don't have to put up with you saying that myself or one of my peers at Curse condone uploading of viruses.
I don't have to put up with you running around doing nothing constructive but slandering my name and the name of those who are trying to bust their collective asses for the community.
You are not welcomed here if your goal is to do nothing to but throw accusations, not only at myself and the company I work for but at the other community members who
are in no way affiliated with Curse.
I've been very patient, stop pressing your luck.sd

I used the "may" as when I did report it, we did not have an actual malware package name. Nor I am I going to download it and look myself. If I don't have firm proof then I will use word appropriate for that purpose. I tend to be cautious, I don't rush into conclusions and that has worked out well in the past. I prefer to see proof that the sky is really falling before I spread the word. I have since edited my post on WoWUI with the updated information.
However someone using Kaelten's name has spammed the comments section (likely to prevent the uploader from being able to nuke all the comments).

Pure Gibberish:
Describing the state of your mind *gasp*
Stating the obvious:
I admit something else: 1 and 3 are right. Although I wouldn't count admitting something as a flaw. A lot of you fanboys could benefit from that...
2 is ripped completly out of context.
Or Blues in Blue Gender ? :p

Thats all I see.
They did post an announcement after all. Hehee.
ROFL, I didn't see that before. Someone from cursed.com is talking shit about someone else's reputation!?!!? :D
