I've never been able to get WUU to update Cladhaire's mods. PerfectRaid & Clique come to mind at once. Not as sure about Lightheaded. Any known issues here?

Hi Laine,
I can install PerfectRaid etc without an issue.
The steps I go through are as follows:
1. Go to the WOWI page for the addon required e.g. PerfectRaid
2. Right-Click on the Download button and choose Copy Link/Shortcut
3. Start WUU if it isn't already running
4. Choose Addon --> Install from --> URL... and paste the link copied in step 2 into the box and click OK
5. WUU will then download and install the Addon
Okay, I finally managed to get WUU to grab Mobmap. The setup regexps are different to what's in the picture on WUUWiki. Here's a shot of that window after I got it to work:
Well, okay, it didn't show up in the message body, but it's here. Feel free to use it for the WUU wiki.
UPDATE: It's still basically having the same problem, but I discovered that if I try to update manually, the addons from WoWAce will check version and update correctly. But all the others - Auctioneer, CTMod, Cosmos, Curse, GoogleCode and WoWI - still have the same problem of hanging. And, as before, there's no indication in the log that I even attempt an update/version check unless it's with WoWAce.

Hi Chmee,
Thanks for the picture, I've just tried with the existing one on the WUUwiki and that works, %(fname)s and %(name)s are the same :)
To get the database to load just replace the last " with & in the Addon Extension regexp.
Hm. The whole deal with mobmap for me was that using the suggested regexps from the wiki page did not work for me. Or at least, didn't seem to. It's possible I entered them wrong, and my efforts to get it right caused more problems. IIRC, I made some other changes besides just "name" to "fname" - which I did because I couldn't find anything that told me what "name" referenced, and did not know it's the same as fname.
The pageup, pagedown, home, and end buttons should cause the window (the list of addons) to scroll. Often, they do nothing. Fooling around with cursor focus (hovering over or clicking in the window, or the scroll bar) will cause them to work, but then when I page down (or whatever) the window does not refresh (the listing area goes blank).
Shrinking the window to be smaller than the default size causes the scroll bar and/or the four buttons at the bottom of the list to disappear.

Hi Chmee,
Sorry if I seemed a bit dismissive in my last reply, I didn't mean to be :(
I try to keep the examples up to date to help users such as yourself, bad examples are worse than useless when you're trying to get things to work.
As far as I'm aware all the examples are up to date, I've just updated the MobMap ones to remove the unnecessary '<a\s' from the front of the regexp's and replace the " with & for the child entry.
I have added some information to the OtherSites wiki page detailing what fields can be used in the regexp's as you so rightly pointed out it wasn't clear what to use where.
I will add text entries to match the pictures so it will be easier for people to cut and paste them in the future, I thought the pictures were good enough to use but in hindsight I don't think they are as useful as I first thought.
Thanks for your feedback on this and other matters it is useful to know what other people think and the issues they have .
Hi, I have also had the problem with the app starting and crashing immediately on OS X 10.4.11. Here is my crash log:
Date/Time: 2007-11-19 11:27:46.116 -0600
OS Version: 10.4.11 (Build 8S165)
Report Version: 4
This happened with the last two versions. I have been able to successfully run the two most recent verions WUU using Python in the terminal. When I tried to make my own app, I got error messages and it wouldn't run.
I tried going back to the .445 version and it ran and updated like a charm. So now I have a running .477. So I suggest downloading the .445 version and letting it update for OS X users. I also apologize for uploading some bad data to the database. I am old and it took me a while to figure out the settings.
I tried this, and I found that I could use the settings you had above, but after that I had to set the [Related] folder Auc-Advanced (which is the real main folder) to the following:
AddonDirectory: Auc-Advanced
Friendly Name: Auc-Advanced
Source Site: Auctioneer
SiteID: AuctioneerAdvancedSuite
Finally I deleted the old AuctioneerAdvancedSuite addon (which will delete all related, too), and re-updated Auc-Advanced.
This worked great! Thanks!
Is there a similar "trick" to get GathererDB_Wowhead working? I've tried a few things, but I can't get WUU to manage this AddOn.
Try using the settings in the attached picture, it worked for me :)
Thanks! That gave me enough info to figure it out, although I had to use some slightly different values. See the attached image. The truncated value is:
I can't figure out how to sort the list of addons in the client on Linux. Running in WindowsXP, I get a little arrow icon in the column header showing what is being sorted on. In Linux, this icon is never shown.
I've tried double-clicking and right-clicking the column headers, but nothing happens.

* Added better error handling to self-updater
* Made Edit dialog resizable (due to missing sizer, the controls inside don't follow the new size correctly - this will be fixed in 1.7)
* Bugfix: PageUp/PageDown sometimes did nothing
* Added preference to activate Debug messages to the log & trace files
* Bugfix: Invalid version number error
* Sitefix: Better GoogleCode handling
* Bugfix #1833163: WUU on themed systems sometimes has invisible text (forced black on white text, for now - will make it configurable later)

Hi Chmee,
I'm looking into why GEM2 from the original site has an issue, in the meantime you can also get it from Curse
Edit: Change the friendly name to GuildEventManager and it will work :)
Hi mpinzur,
Can you clear the logfile and then run WUU and do the version check/update as usual.
Then post the logfile as an attachment so we can look at it please. :)
On Windows the logfile can be found in the WUU subdirectory of your user directory and is called WUU.log
Bingo! fixes worked like a charm! Thanks!

No worries. I wasn't offended, just trying to be clear. :-)
Thanks for the good work!
Hi kyleki,

(since the dialog isn't resizable) :(
I've tried double-clicking and right-clicking the column headers, but nothing happens.
Here's what I'm running from:
WUU 1.6.477
Fedora 8
Python 2.5.1
wxPython 2.8.4
BTW, the link at the top of wuu.vagabonds.info into this forum should link to this thread rather than the one for the old version as it does now.
Thanks,
Kyle
The dialog is going to be completely reworked for 1.7/1.8 :) I've added resizing to the "old one", but I'm not sure how much it helps - it'll be in the final 1.6 release (later today, I hope)
I have a server with Fedora 8, so I'm going to test this after work today (and also fix the link), but I can't promise it'll be fixed for 1.6.
WUU 1.6.483 osx
WUU 1.6.483 source/linux
MD5 sums:
1.6.483 (final version) (2007.11.21):

* Made Edit dialog resizable (due to missing sizer, the controls inside don't follow the new size correctly - this will be fixed in 1.7)
* Bugfix: PageUp/PageDown sometimes did nothing
* Added preference to activate Debug messages to the log & trace files
* Bugfix: Invalid version number error
* Sitefix: Better GoogleCode handling
* Bugfix #1833163: WUU on themed systems sometimes has invisible text (forced black on white text, for now - will make it configurable later)
