The application is not using the correct Addons folder. It using the correct path from the setup/config. But it creates a new folder called '/Interface/Addons" (in one word)it should not do that.
Does addons on the mac lie in the same folder as usual?
same happens on linux, the folder/file layout is the exact same as windows,
if i put the path for addons as "...drive_c/Program Files/World of Warcraft" and select a addon to install, it made a folder and placed the addon in "/Program Files/World of Warcraft\Interface\Addons" so it created a new folder named 'World of Warcraft\Interface\Addons'.
put config as "...drive_c/Program Files/World of Warcraft/"(added slash at end) pickd a addon and it placed it in "/Program Files/World of Warcraft\Interface\Addons" so making the folder name '\Interface\Addons'

Ok, so this might be due to linux not recognizing \ as a directory level change? (How about mac for that?)
The solution is simple, ill just go change all \ to /, give me 1min and ill have a new version up.
just tried 1.7b and worked just fine, even ran from a double-click :)
i don't really see the point in alphabetical updates either and although i always choose to update every single addon 99% of times, i can see the use of having a checkbox. sometimes you know of an update version that is not working so great and need to revert to an older one... well if you do that and then run an update again you're kind of screwed. i guess you could change the permissions on that addon folder prior to running the update but that can be a little annoying.
nevertheless, i'm happy with the way it works now, you've done a great job and we can't complain :)
thanks a lot
Does this app support filelist.wau included with some addons, for splitting up addons into multiple ones?
(ie: bigwigs, ora2, cartographer, and more all can do this)

It doesnt atm, and I hope if it does, its configurable, as I much prefer the sub-addons not split out !

Ive never used WAU, so could you enlighten me to what these filelist.wau files does? I took a look at the one that comes with Cartographer, and it just seems it has a list of the Subdirectories thats already inside Cartographer?
In other words: It moves the modules from \Interface\AddOns\Cartographer to \Interface\AddOns\
Doing that it makes the modules load on demand. :)
Should be added and working as of 1.10.
If split option is enabled it will split all addons that is updated according to filelist.wau. (Old addons updated before the split option was checked will not be split until updated themselves.)
If split option is removed, all addons updated after will be "unsplit". Again this only applies to addons updated after the option is changed.

That i dont understand, the string i use for the addons folder is:
"Interface/Addons"
which shouldn't give you AddOns.
Is everyone getting this new bug?

edit. request, checklist and alphabetical update process
Not sure why you want alphabetical update? Cant see why it would make a diffrence.
And towards checklist, ill have to look into that. But i really dont see a reason to not update every addon either.

It would be nice if it could be possible to know what addons will be updated, before you run the update.
But thanks alot for this, it's gonna replace the WAup python script.

Also added a little other feature:
The -fireandforget commandline argument, which starts the updater, updates and then exits on completion.
Ie: java -jar JWowUpdater.jar -fireandforget
(Can also be used on shortcuts)
Both features are in version 1.8.

This is usefull if you just turned "Split addons" option on or off, and want all addons reinstalled with this settin in effect.

Great news...
Love this tool :D
+++Edit+++
Just gave it a try... "split addons" doesn't work for me... :(
The modules are still in the addon folder.
+++Edit2+++
Cartographer modules are moved correctly... but BigWigs and Pitbull aren't
