Possible fix for the .toc corruption a mac user was having.
Changed the look of buttons a little.
Made the main window remember where it was last time, so it opens op the same place.
Plz test if the corruption happens with this version, and also if the buttons still look silly. (Id like a screenshot if they do).
*UPDATE*
Found an error in the corruption fix, which corrupts the .toc files :/
1.20 should fix most .toc corruption problems. If you still get a corruption problem with 1.20, i would like to be mailed /attach to post, the .toc file thats giving the problems. (But in a non corrupted version).
At least 1.20 worked with .toc cleanup on my 3 testmachines (Well my pc, my GF's pc and my friends pc :)
Hope this works now, and sorry for the trouble with the latest 2 versions.
Hi Rolf! I got the program to work after many many many many attempts. I emptied my addon folder and tried to download every addon through the program and that worked. But it stilled hanged on "Checking addons" when i started it.
So i tried to move chunks of addons into the folder and restart the program. It worked till i got to Fubar_PetFu. When i have this addon in my folder the program hangs.
hi
small suggestion to this awesome program... do any of you guys feel that it would be useful to have a rescan button? the reason for this is because the firth time you run the app and set your folder, or if you edit the config, there is no way to rescan the addons other than quitting and reopening the app. i know it's not much trouble and I'm happy with the way it is... just s suggestion :)
thanks

This will be added in the next release (1.22) which will prob be out tonight or tomorrow. Good idea too :)
would it be possible to check what files are in Skinner\SkinMe and copy them from Skinner\AddonSkins whenever Skinner gets updated. i use a .bat file to do that atm which i manually run. given that your updater comments out files that dont exist (i love this feature btw, speeds up load time by a decent amount) it means i also have to go through the toc file and uncomment the files i use.

thanks for the great updater!
I am afraid this is a bit to special to make it into the updater. But ill try and see if i can figure out a bit more general rule for making something survive an update, without making special cases per addon.

I dont have to do that - do you have delete before updating checked ?
I don't - and the contents of the SkinMe folder are preserved, and checked and commented as appropriate when updated.

yes i do delete before update, i thought it was better to do so as files which get deleted would sit in your folders otherwise
That is true, but mostly you wont get hundreds of files that are abandoned. And even if you do it probabely wont be more than a couple of hundred kilobytes we are talking about after a couple of weeks with extensive updating.
You could just untick the delete on update option. And then once a month copy out the folders you want to keep, and then do a complete reinstall. That would clean your addons too. Might be a solution.
But i have 3 exams and a big project comming up, so the next 3-4 weeks wont be very productive JWowUpdater wise, so enjoy 1.22 a little longer and expect new updates sometime beginning of June :)
Why does the "no externals" option put a "noext" file in every addon's folder? Couldn't, instead of checking for the presence of a "noext" file in every addon, you just check for the "no externals" option?

Because an addon isnt no-externals until it has been updated after the no-externals flag is set. So the noext file shows that an addon has actually been installed as no-externals.

So we notice when you update your great tool :D
That is actually on the planned features list :)

I proposed we add a .source file which had the full url of the source zip file so that every updater doesnt do something different.
