I found copying/moving individual skin files to be tedious, so now I just move the whole lot over to the SkinMe folder. I suppose it takes up a little more memory, but Skinner as a whole only seems to use a couple hundred kilobytes.
Personally, I just threw together a VBS file I run after an update to copy over only the ones either matching an addon folder name (to pick up skins for new addons I might have installed), or ones existing already in the SkinMe folder (particularly for ones that do not match the addon folder name that I had to copy manually at least once).
so you're going to stop people reverse engineering this new client how?
once that's done it'll take about 30 minutes for someone to take an existing OSS updater and add curseace support.
guess which one people will use: bloated crippled adware from curse, or some tiny OSS program with all of the previous functionality...
great business plan!
you do understand that this hurts the site more than helps? by not using the right client your not supporting the site and if it becomes a problem they'll start turning to more drastic ideas, like disabling updates alltogeather via client programs, then we'll have to all back to the old way of looking up the addon and downloading a zip file.

I guess He thinks Money grows on trees (this is to the guy who's talking about reverse engineering the client)
No, it's fishking again, who usually engages in a flame war on why he should be allowed to reverse engineer to not have adds, how pissed he is about it. Etc... Usually ends in him getting banned, making a new account some time later, while all that time, he does use the addons, believes that bandwidth is free as is hosting.
Actually, I quit wow about three months ago, yet I'm still interested in the recent sellout, and a lot more interested since that ban...
Coming in and saying nothing constructive but threatening us with your reverse engineering prowess is fairly underwhelming.
People have, do, and will continue to do such things. I'm sorry you don't understand all the things in play and decide that the way for you to make the situation better is to flame in such a ungracious manner.
If you have concerns, or feedback, please share.
If you are as you appear, an ex wow player with a flare for drama, expect more bans if you keep trying to flame us.
well, I didn't threaten anything (note the use of the word 'someone', not 'me'), it's most likely not going to be me as I don't have any use for the software...
People will and do, regardless of who. And frankly, I don't care. I won't allow them to advertise their works on the main site, and the majority of users will never know about them.
sellout? who knwos, maybe. Inability to sustain the site in its current financial state is a major motivating factor for doing something. So I had to choose between doing this or just shutting stuff down.
I knew some people where going to be very upset by the course taken, I'm doing what I view as best for the whole. Am I right, am I wrong? Who the fuck knows.

We'll see though.
While I'm a little miffed at the pending/upcoming loss of WAU (even though there was that time period where the ads it used would crash my client mid update, and for some reason now the windows don't load right), I hope I wasn't rude/inconsiderate if/when I voiced my discontent. New client issues and all that x_x
At any rate, I like the community here and most, if not all, of the mods I use ended up being Ace mods, so as long as the new client is elegant-ish and easy to use/update, I'll be happy. But in its current incarnation, where the beta still bugs out and overwrites stuff with broken and outdated mods, I'm a little worried.
just had an idea would it be possible to release maybe a ace brand curse updater (same software with different icon and coloring?) might make people feel more at ease downloading it from wowace

So, you created an account, just to b*tch?
