Am using Linux, with version 1.9.649 of WUU, and there's something odd with forming the URLs. For example for individual addons, when clicking "Open download page" in menu - browser window tries to URL--> file:///home/myuser/bin/WUU/"http://www.wowinterface.com/downloads/info8512.html" instead of the http://www.wowinterface.com/downloads/info8512.html... (/home/myuser/bin/WUU is where I've installed WUU into).
I am having the same "Could not find <addon> update date on page - is site ID correct?" error with Auctioneer, and with everything on WoWAce. Looking at both sites, it appears they have changed their layouts. I expect we need new RegExp/Templates to be created for these new layouts. In the meantime, we need to either set WUU to use OtherSite and create the RegExps ourselves, or manually update our addons.
I'll look into it later today, or tomorrow morning (CET ;)) - if it's a regexp fix it's quick to get out, otherwise it'll take a few hours tomorrow (I recently reinstalled, so I haven't gotten the build environment up and running yet :( )
Just upgraded to WUU 1.9.666 from 1.9.649, and it is still having trouble with WoWAce.
Specifically, it gives me the "Could not find <addon> download info on page - is site ID correct?" error for two of my addons. I have many others on WoWAce that it checks without difficulty. The two that are failing at the moment are Chatter and DrDamage.
Using 1.9.649 with hamaw's updated site RegExps, it successfully gets the version of Chatter, but still fails with DrDamage (it worked 2 days ago, so I suspect the WoWAce admins may still be changing things around).
I mention it because 1.9.649 can check Chatter, but 1.9.666 cannot, even though I was using the same Site_RE.txt file. 1.9.666 recognized my existing file as current and did not replace it automatically. When it failed to get versions for those addons, I renamed the file and restarted WUU, forcing it to get a new file. The new file did not affect the version checking in the slightest.
Also, any chance of getting some detailed logging capabilities added into the next version? Specifically, an option to have the log display the URL it is checking for each addon, and the result it obtained. This would be quite helpful when trying to build RegExps for OtherSite entries, as well as possibly helping to determine why standard site checks are failing.
I would love to see this implemented as either (or both) entries to the standard log, or as a right-click -> Test RegExp option on the individual addons.
Feature: Added s upport for WoWAce clone repositories
Feature fix: Improved identificaton of downloaded files
I find the "wowaceclone" feature to be working great, thanks!
But now I do get a new error, in the log, never seen before: 2009-07-02 11:22:28: (WARN) Can't get a readable date for Gatherer out of the page: need more than 5 values to unpack (('Gatherer/Gatherer-3.1.13.zip', 'Gatherer-3.1.13.zip', '2009', '04', '16'))
My response to the other problem above, what I do is right click and hit the link for "open download page" it usually tells me what I am doing wrong. Shows lots of bad links that way.
(WARN) Optional external program missing: 7-ZIP command line client (7z.exe - WUU searched path and common locations)
It seems WUU doesn't look for the 64-bit (Windows Vista) version of 7-Zip, not a big deal since I can drag the file into the WUU director but I thought I'd point it out.

I did some more playing around with this, and discovered that for some reason, when I have WUU take me to the Chatter web page (whether by right-click -> Open Addon Page, or by the Link option on the right), it insists on taking me to http://www.curseforge.com/projects/?search=Chatter, which of course is not correct.
If I set Chatter to any site other than WoWAce, the link goes to the selected site. When I set it back to WoWAce, it takes me to CurseForge again.
This seems to be unique to the Chatter AddOn. All my other WoWAce addons (including DrDamage) take me to WoWAce when I try them.
For now, I have configured both Chatter & DrDamage using the OtherSite setting, so I am at least able to check for updated versions. Unfortunately, I have not been able to figure out how to get the OtherSite option to work with the Open Download Page option for manual updating, or to automatically update from WoWAce (didn't expect this to work anyway, due to WoWAce's desire to prevent 3rd party updaters from automatically downloading).

Hi shdwphnx,
I've just tried both these addons and they worked fine for me. Please delete them via WUU and then add them again. I use the Addon -> Install from -> URL... option and give it the URL of the Curse page. The link and menu options then take me to the correct page.
Please try this and let me know what happens.

That worked, thanks a lot.
I use an addon named "skillet" but its "dead." See it at http://www.wowace.com/projects/skillet/
BUT!
there is a repository of a spin off at
http://www.wowace.com/projects/skillet/repositories/lilsparkys-clone/files/
that isn't.
So, how do I tell WUU to get that version? Is there a way?
2009-06-19 16:08:49: (WARN) Could not find Auc-Advanced update date on page - is site ID correct?
I have Source Site set to "Auctioneer" and Site ID "AuctioneerSuite", and "Check site regexps" says I'm up-to-date.
If u do this please make it an obscure opt in option. ("As a catch all, end users should not be working with alpha/beta files")
:)
push new regexps please.

I'll push a new version this evening - I've been out in vacation, then 2 disks on my computer died in rapid succession (due to the heat).
Luckily, I have fairly complete backups, and one of the disks was part of a RAID mirror, but it still took a while to get back :(
