Is it just me or does "Update all addons" udate them even if they don't need an update? If so how do we update only those in need? Also any chance of adding coloring or a filter for addons that need updated like say green if it has an update?
@Morgalm: Yes, it does update all addons. Version Checking and only update those which needs updating is the next thing I will implement. For now, you can update single Addons by right-clicking them and selecting "Update" from the Context Menu.
I also finished implementing 7z Support (for extracting rar files) and it does show you the content of the Archive File before extracting if it seems that it wasn't packed right (like xchar, which has no directory inside or necrosis, which had too many directories) and allows you to open it with 7z and extract by yourself.
Of course it would be an idea if the author of WADDU and the people at the various addon sites would sit down together and maybe come up with a solution to avoid them blocking this and similar fine tools; an idea would be that the addon pages offer an adfeed that updaters can or have to integrate into their program to gain access to the downloads.
I see why the sites want ad traffic and similar to pay for their costs, but on the other hand ... users like me that use Firefox/Adblock see zero ads anyway, so what is the next step? Don't allow FF users to download addons?
IMHO: for the addon sites it would make the most sense to work with the addon updater authors to increase their ad revenue. People like me that don't mind manually checking/updating their mods are in fact causing MORE traffic than a working updater since we will connect to their servers several times a day to check for new stuff ... while not seeing a single ad to "pay" for it in any way.
It would be very easy for Addon Sites to give us "Updater Developers" a WebService or some other Interface which we could use for update checking instead of parsing the html over and over again. In return, I would implement some kind of Ad Viewer into the Updater.
That would give them Money from the Ads and less traffic.
But as long as noone contacts me, I won't implement Ads.
However, I don't think curse would agree to something like that. I don't even think they want any other Addon Updaters beside their Updater (to get even more money). So it looks like I have to keep parsing HTML.
I'd pay monthly for good service from a site. I DO think that an AD popup could be implemented into the updater that would show for 10 seconds before the updater starts, and show again when you exit and you have to click OK or something to close it.
Tell you what - release a curse update program with one click update function that displays adverts and see if people use it.

Eh, that "one click update" button is actual not needed. Addons are not going to be getting their MASS update like before with WAU. TBH I havn't updated my addons in about 2 weeks and when i went to update i only had about 5 of them to update.
The "Need" for one click update is no longer there. So, your hopes of a curse w/ one click udpate as a non-premium subscription is gone.
As far as I can see, you've got so many unkowns from curse.com addons because you're downloading from wowace instead... which also poses the problem that it doesn't add to download counters. I can't find any way to get it to prioritize curse.com over wowace.

REALIZE that if the sites do not get ad impressions, they have to shut down. Their bandwidth costs REAL money!
