posted a message on Shadowed Unit Frames [official]
I was using the latest alpha in my 10-man FL raid on Tuesday night (September 27), and noticed that while using SUF, there would be a pop-out window on the left side of my screen. It was the default Blizzard window for doing role checks, placing the raid markers on the ground, etc. If I did a /reload, it would disappear. However, it reappeared a couple more times during the raid. A /reload would always make it disappear.

How do I keep it hidden permanently?

    posted a message on LibActionButton-1.0
Does anyone know why I would be getting 100+ lua errors attributed to LibActionButton-1.0 when my guild levels after killing a dungeon or raid boss? It's happened twice so far - once when we hit level 12 after killing the final boss in Lost City, and tonight when we hit level 15 after killing Maloriak. My screen freezes for 5-7 seconds when it happens, and then I'll see the massive pile of lua errors in BugSack.

I have more detailed info in a ticket here:

posted a message on Bartender4 or Ace3 causing this?
    Quote from Phanx
Ace3 doesn't do anything on its own, so if Ace3 and BT4 are the only things you have enabled, the problem lies in BT4.

On a related note, unless you have some specific reason for wanting to run a disembedded setup, you do not need a separate copy of the whole Ace3 package. All addons that use libraries from the Ace3 family, such as BT4, already include copies of the individual libraries they require inside their own folder, usually in a subfolder called "Libs". This is called "embedding" and is done so you do not need to manage libraries separately or have them cluttering up your addons folder.

I've dropped a ticket to the BT4 author to see if it's a bug in BT4 (or perhaps a library that BT4 uses, LibActionButton - I am getting similar errors that reference LibActionButton trying to get to protected BT4 functions).

As far as embedded vs. disembedded, I've been using the Curse Client to run disembedded, -nolib versions for some time now. I also have it set to install alpha versions of mods. I like to get fixes quickly (rather than waiting for release versions). I also like to run a tight AddOns folder, so just having 1 copy of a library installed (rather than 10-20 copies) works better for me. Sure, I do run into the occasional lua error, but it's typically fixed quickly.

posted a message on Bartender4 or Ace3 causing this?
I use Bartender4, and have it set to use the default Blizzard vehicle UI (instead of the BT4 vehicle UI). Everytime I'm done using a Cata vehicle (Magmaw, the drake in Grim Batol, etc.), I have lots of LUA errors that say Ace3 tried to call various protected BT4 stuff (and other random stuff). Is this something correctable in either Ace3 and/or BT4?

    I am using the latest version of BT4 (4.4.15-nolib) and Ace3 (r1004).

My addons are always up-to-date via the Curse Client. I run it set to "alpha" and "install libraries separately".

I initially thought it might be Ace3 causing it since it would sometimes blame Ace3 mods. However, it has also laid blame on tekticles, which doesn't use Ace3.

posted a message on WorldMapBlobFrame LUA errors
For the past couple months or so, I've been getting random LUA errors captured by BugSack that are related to the protected function WorldMapBlobFrame. Nearly all of my mods (as well as Ace3) have been listed as the cause of these LUA errors.

Does anyone know what is actually causing these errors? As far as I know, none of my mods actually interact with the world map (like a herb/mining node gathering mod, or something like that).

Here is a screenshot of it being blamed on Ace3:

I'm working on getting the button back. It was some bad hack in the previous version, so i'm trying to do it properly now.

    For the other issues:
Vehicle Bars (as well as all "Possession" bars) always seem to have 10 buttons, even if there are only 5 abilities. Thats why they produce clicking sounds, because Bartender cannot know which slot is actually empty, and just lets the game deal with it.

    Edit:
    The button is back.

Thank you. I tried it on a table, and button 12 was the leave vehicle button. Did it require another hack, or were you able to properly fix it?

    Using 4.4.14-1-gd044597-nolib:

"Use Blizzard Vehicle UI" is checked, and Vehicle Bar is set to "Enabled". I get in a seat at the table outside IF for the Pilgrim's Bounty event. I see the 6 buttons related to food on Bar 1 (1 "Pass..." button, and 5 "Feast on..." buttons). However, I don't see any "Leave vehicle" button. If I disable BT4 and use the default Blizz bars, I see the leave vehicle button just above the main action bar.

Is this a Blizzard bug or BT4 bug?

I also noticed that when I have BT4 enabled, and my Bar 1 is possessed by the Pilgrim's Bounty table, Buttons 1 through 6 are taken up by the feast icons. However, if I click the empty space where Buttons 7 - 0 would be, I hear a clicking sound. If I click where - and = would be, I don't hear a sound. I also don't hear a clicking sound if I click on any empty buttons on any other bar. (I was clicking random buttons on bar 1 to see if maybe one of them was the leave button.)

posted a message on CallbackHandler and LibStub as standalone
I use the Curse Client to manage all my addons, and have it set to install the alpha, no-lib versions of all mods.

The result of doing this is that I have a standalone copy of both CallbackHandler (1.0.6) and LibStub (1.0) in my AddOns folder. I've both read and been told that neither of these libraries were meant to run as standalone.

If I attempt to remove either library through the client, it says that they're "required by the following addons". CBH is tied to 12 addons, and LS is tied to 15 addons.

    My questions:

    1. Is there any drawback to having these libraries installed as standalones?

    2. Since I'm running every addon as no-lib, is the correct way to have CallbackHandler and LibStub (as well as LibDataBroker) be embedded in the mod, while all other libraries can be installed as standalone? Is it worth submitting tickets for all these addons to have the authors embed CH and LS in their addon?

I just downloaded the addon Recount and now I'm getting this when I start WoW:

    failed to initialize wow.mfil
    details:
    [4] err=0 text=initializestreaming - could not load manifest
    [3] err=0 text=Manifests::readdirectfile - readdirectfilefrombuffer failed
    [2] err=0 text= manifestinfo::readdirectfilefrombufer - manifest_partial tag fa

    What do I do?

That isn't a Recount error. I'd delete your Cache folder inside your Wow folder, then run the repair tool. Basically, the Launcher had trouble connecting to the streaming data server.

I am using Bartender4 4.4.13-1, and was testing out the UI that I would have for Cata on my main lvl80 toon. I enabled the XP bar and centered it toward the top of my screen. I locked all the bars and buttons, and saw the XP bar. When I moused over it, it vanished.

If I unlock my bars/buttons again, I see the green frame where the XP bar should be, but don't see an XP bar within the green frame. Disabling and re-enabling the XP bar doesn't fix it either.

Is it supposed to do that if you're max level?

When i log into the game i have the bartender 4 bar but stil the original blizzard bar how can i get rid of it?

In the options panel for BT4, you'll see a bar called "Blizzard bar" at the bottom of the list. Make sure it's disabled.

Perhaps this is a basic question, but I'm having trouble switching action bars when I change to different forms. For example, when switching to Shadowform, it appears that the Shadowform action bar is something like Action Bar 7, however, Action Bar 1 remains on the screen in the spot I'd like the new bar to appear.

The same thing happens when shifting between cat and bear form. The default action bar remains in place and the customized ones for those forms do not appear.

    How do I fix this?

You'll need to adjust Bar 1's paging, I believe. On my warrior. my 3 stances are set through Bar 1's paging. One stance is on Bar 1, and the other two are on Bars 2 and 3. I can then customize the buttons on the other bars to correspond to that stance.

You should see that in Bar 1's settings. On my warrior, it shows dropdown menus for each stance. I assume priests and druids would have similar dropdown menus.

    Quick test using r103-nolib:

Logged on in IF, Battle Shout, hearth to Dalaran, took portal to Darnassus. Raven went from 1.08MB to 1.10MB. About 30-45 seconds later, it went to 1.11MB, then about 45-60 seconds later, went down to 1.08MB.
