I would be really interested in something like this as well. Blizzard says they are working on adding a gems category that but who knows when it will be implemented.

Thanks, I installed Doublewide and it makes the quest log a thousand times better. The only thing I am missing now is the ability to reclassify what "zone" my quests are in, but I guess I can live without that.

posted a message on Request: Quest addon similar to EQL
Would anyone be interested in coding up a replacement for Extended Quest Log (EQL)? The author disappeared sometime in January and the mod is no longer being supported. Parts of it have been breaking since then, and with the last patch it is virtually unusable.

If you take a look at the comments for EQL http://ui.worldofwar.net/ui.php?id=1676 you will see a lot of sad people who have been trying to use EQL even as it is breaking. The masses are clamoring a replacement!

I have tried nQuestLog and QuestsFu and they don't cover the same ground as EQL. Features from EQL I would like in a replacement:

    1) Double-wide window, where you have your list of quests on one pane and the details in the other.
    2) A separate quest-tracker (minion). Just like the default Blizzard log, you would open up your quest log, and shift-click entries to monitor in your minion. I don't like how in nQuestLog you see all your quests in the tracker. Even with the zone hidden you still see the zone header.
    3) The ability to change what "zone" your quests are listed in. I like to reclassify my quests based on where in the zone I need to kill things. You could do this in EQL.
    4) Simple looking window. Personally I'm not into the Skinner/oSkin look of nQuestLog.

    Anyone else here miss EQL?

My enchanting window has a pull down in the upper right corner where I can select the slot to filter by (gloves, boots, etc). I'm at work and so can't make sure what mod does that, but the only ones I can think of that are at all relevant are cgCrafty and EnchantMe. It's probably cgCrafty, which you can get from WoWInterface. You can get EnchantMe there, too.

I feel stupid, but I still can't figure out how to do it. I've read the wiki, and searched through all the dewdrop options for agUF. Where is this text width slider? Is it right in the options and I'm just blind?

It sounds to me like this would violate the new restrictions on frame creation in combat.

I tried BanzaiAlert in the past and IIRC it only alerts you when you get aggro, not others in your group.

If you can't find something better, you could try using Grid or some other unit frames with "aggro alert." In the case of Grid, you can configure it to tell you whenever someone in your party gets aggro. Then you can find the mob with TinyTip or MTLove mouseover.

If you do find something more like what you propose, I would be interested in that as well. It's a cool idea if such an implementation is possible.

Actually, it looks like TinyTip + TinyTipExtras also has the mouseover ToT. I haven't tried it though to see how it looks compared to MTLove.

Anyway I know that's not quite what you're asking for. I thought maybe TinyTip could do what you wanted but I didn't see anything about that on the wiki.

To any of you guys getting the Quixote error:

Are you running Extended Quest Log, or any other sort of Quest Log modifier? If so, that's the problem; please link me the release for the version you are using so I can see what it's doing that's causing the problem. It might be a problem in Quixote but I should figure out why it's happening before I report it to the author.

Interesting. I have not tried your mod yet (was reading this thread to see what it was) but I had tried using GrindStatus in the past and got the same Quixote error. I found that curious since GrindStatus is the only addon I have using Quixote and no one else seemed to be having problems. I am also using EQL so I guess that was the problem!

If such a thing does not exist, you might find MTLove useful.

    http://ui.worldofwar.net/ui.php?id=2411

It allows you to mouseover mobs and see whom they're targetting. This type of behavior is more useful, IMO, since you can immediately find the naughty mobs and set your pet on them.

Simple question about sharing profession notes. If the person I broadcast to already has some of the nodes in their database, do these get duplicated when I share my database with them, or does Cartographer clean up the non-unique entries? I'm just worried about my database size exploding if I start sharing and receiving notes.

posted a message on Is it possible to have all libs in one folder?
Hmm, maybe this is a question I should ask on the BugSack thread, but it doesn't always tell me what addon is causing library errors. For example:

The 5th error there is caused by GrindStatus, but I only know that because it's the only addon I have that uses Quixote. It doesn't actually say GrindStatus in the error log. I dunno, maybe I'm missing an option in BugGrabber or BugSack.

Anyway, I downloaded ACP today and it does just what I need. So I guess I have no complaints about my messy AddOns folder! :)

    dll hell in wow ;)

I too use WAU and without externals. The addonfolder is a mess now, but I guess I have to live with that.

It's not just aesthetics. I also run standalone and have a slew of library folders in my Addons directory. The thing I find annoying is troubleshooting addon errors. Typically if you have an addon acting up or if you have some weird error messages and can't figure out where they're coming from, you disable and enable various addons until you narrow it down. Not so easy when you have 20 libraries all over your addon list that also need to be checked by hand.

You should be using some sort of error manager that gives you a stack trace. All the good ones do!

I do. I use BugGrabber & BugSack. Nonetheless, if I'm getting a library error it can be unclear what addon is causing it. Or even if I do know what addon it is before I file a bug report I want to run that addon by itself just to be sure there isn't some conflict.

Thanks, Sylvanaar, for the suggestion to use rMCP. I'll give that a try next time I have problems.
