I found that FuBar profile settings were wonky at best, often requiring multiple UI reloads after each step.

Copy from default has been around for awhile now.

Thanks, I'll check it out! And yes, I had already switched to another profile before I tried copying the default, I swear the option just wasn't there! ;) Like I said, it had been awhile since I'd tried using it.

While laced with flame-bait, your point is valid.

You would want profiles to be heirarchical so that you can make settings at various scopes. You can achieve this manually by using the 'copy settings from' i think.

But yeah, profiles are an AceDB feature

I have been irked by this issue, myself. Last time I checked, the "default" profile is the one profile that does not show up when you try to "copy settings." So you get everything just right in the default profile then realize you want to make a minor tweak for one of your characters, and you have to start from scratch. It's pretty frustrating.

I haven't tried this feature in a month or two, though. Have they added the option to copy the default profile? If not, they should! :)

Doggabone, I hear what you're saying as far as addon management, but this problem is not particular to FuBar. I don't utilize profiles for FuBar but rather for ag_UnitFrames, where I would want different setups for solo, 5-man and raids, healing and non.

If you're on the ball, I suppose you can circumvent the profile problem by immediately creating a new profile like "mydefault" that you could then copy from after tweaking. But most people don't think of that and ideally wouldn't have to.

This info should be saved automatically each time you exit WoW. Do you have trouble with any other addons not saving your configuration options?

Take a look at your FuBar SavedVariables file and see if it's being created. If you go to your WTF folder ( Program Files/WoW/WTF/Account/ACCOUNTNAME/SavedVariables) you should see a bunch of lua files. If you don't then perhaps you have a folder permissions issue.

If other addons are saving to this folder fine and it's just FuBar, then could you try disabling everything but FuBar and a couple FuBar addons to see if it works? Maybe there's a conflict somewhere.

posted a message on Fubar issue, I can't find any help with search.
Have you tried resizing your bar? Put WoW fullscreen so that you can see the full bar. When you're at the very edge of the bar, you get a little sword icon which means you can drag the side of the bar to resize it. Perhaps if you make the bar a bit smaller all the addons will be visible in windowed mode. I'm not sure if this will help, but worth a shot. I'm kinda surprised things aren't resized correctly automatically.

The latest version fixed the problem with SpecialEvents.

I hope you're feeling better Nayala, and thanks for the fix!

I'm having trouble with addons not recognizing SpecialEventsAura-2.0, I think because of how SpecialEventsEmbed is being split.

Babble-2.2 and SpecialEventsEmbed look like they should be split the same way, but addonpkg handles them differently. After running

    addonpkg -fetch -libs
    addonpkg -install -libs

    I end up with

    Babble-2.2
    Babble-Boss-2.2
    Babble-Class-2.2
    Babble-Fish-2.2
    Babble-Herbs-2.2
    Babble-Ore-2.2
    Babble-Quest-2.2
    Babble-Race-2.2
    Babble-Spell-2.2
    Babble-SpellTree-2.2
    Babble-Trainer-2.2
    Babble-Vendor-2.2
    Babble-Zone-2.2

    SpecialEventsEmbed
    SpecialEventsEmbed_SpecialEvents-Aura-2.0
    SpecialEventsEmbed_SpecialEvents-Bags-2.0
    SpecialEventsEmbed_SpecialEvents-Equipped-2.0
    SpecialEventsEmbed_SpecialEvents-LearnSpell-2.0
    SpecialEventsEmbed_SpecialEvents-Mail-2.0
    SpecialEventsEmbed_SpecialEvents-Mount-2.0
    SpecialEventsEmbed_SpecialEvents-Movement-2.0

Why is there the "SpecialEventsEmbed_" tacked onto the front of all the subfolders?

Grid and sct are giving errors about not finding SpecialEvents-Aura-2.0, I think because of the added prefix on these directories.

Is this a bug in addonpkg or in the .toc files for Grid and sct? I am using addonpkg version 070126.

    thanks for your help!

Nvm, it's working now. I didn't change anything on my end, so I guess something was updated on the svn server.

I tried updating my addons today using addonpkg but am getting svn errors for about half of my Ace addons. Example:

    /usr/local/bin/svn update --ignore-externals /Applications/World of Warcraft/Interface/StageArea/Babble-2.2
svn: REPORT request failed on '/wowace/!svn/vcc/default'
    svn: No such revision 24271

This probably has nothing to do with your script (I had installed the latest version before updating my addons) but does anyone know why I'm getting these errors? Like I said, it only affects some of my addons, so I have a feeling it's a problem with the files on the svn. I tried deleting the .svn file in the Babble-2.2 directory and using the -force option, but that didn't help.

    posted a message on Grid
    From the 2.0.3 patch notes:

    - Players will now be able to pull out a pet window to see all the pets in the raid.

Does that mean that a pet filter is being added to the secure frames and that pets can now be added to Grid?

The only change listed for Secure Templates is:

    - Secure Templates
Added an action type "attribute" to secure action buttons which sets an arbitrary attribute on an arbitrary frame.
Added support for state header resizing and re-parenting on state changes.

but I don't really understand what that means.

Oh, I had never seen your other thread! Before I got my hands on Nayala's script I updated everything by hand from wowace.com/files and it was really time consuming. Maybe there should be a pointer to these scripts from the Ace Updater page. :)

This is pretty similar to something Nayala is already working on, except she updates using svn.

xelepet: GridLayoutCustom already exists, nuff said.

Hmm, this is not really what I had in mind. As I understand from Maia's posts, this type of module is only necessary because the limited filtering options in SecureRaidGroupHeader. GridLayoutCustom is not an ideal fix, for reasons enumerated in the last few pages of this thread.

I just wondered if it would make sense to ask Slouken for pet filtering in SecureRaidGroupHeader, so that an option for pet display could be added to the core Grid module, as well as all the other raid frames out there.

I dunno if there are other issues with pet frames that make this more complicated.

If you're putting together a wishlist for Slouken, any chance the pet frame issue will be included? (I.e. the limitations in pet frame anchoring that make pet frames impractical to display.)

I have two raiding toons, a priest and a hunter. Both would love it if pets could be included in Grid. :)

The new features are really nice. I like especially like the -man option so's I don't have to check the forums each time I use it. ;)

I had a weird issue with the new script, though. It has OS 9 newlines (\015) rather than Unix newlines. I had to convert them to regular newlines before perl would interpret it. I didn't have this issue with the old script. Did you play with the new version in OS 9 before uploading it to the forums?

The -libs option works beautifully now. :)

This script saves me so much time. Thanks for posting it!
