And ps. If i remove addons in the CC then it leaves a folder behind. -.-
And it constantly gets confused about addons with similar names.

That's because the way it handles addons in regards to removing and installing is a joke.

    lots of angry people....

Can you blame them? You can't let people drive a Lamborghini for years then take it away and replace it with a Pinto and expect everyone to believe your cries of, "It's the same, nay, better than it was before!".

I agree that the new wowace.com is a superior platform. We can see the enhancements and how your experience on managing the old wowace site determined the way the new site as been made, to avoid repeating the same erros. You have done a great work on this.

The new site is great. I can even stand vBulletin, it's the limitations to what we can use to update our addons.

Now, what hurts it that the CC is far behind WAU (and other updaters) in terms of features, user control and feedback. And the fact that the API is closed, enforcing one to be stuck with this awkward client, makes people angry. I know the CC should get better soon. Let us hope that "soon" is not too far in the future. For now I will stick to svn checkouts.

Normally I would say it wouldn't be hard to write API for anyone to use that, when used by a user, it checked to see what level of "subscription" they had limiting their ability to use certain features inside the updaters that used it.

Too bad I don't think the current developer of the program can pull this off, based on the work I see in CC.

Uncheck Auto-update addons and on client restart it is back to being checked... so much for having control of what I update on my terms...

Pretty sure I see no option to manually check for updates.
<sarcasm>Thanks for your divine instruction on a way to disable the auto-update feature. Obviously in my stupidity I missed it.</sarcasm>

Part of me really wishes that the Curse Client was open source, I think I miss that most about WAU. Although at the same time I understand why Curse would want to keep the CC proprietary, since it does some server handshaking and thats something that should probably stay in-house.

Doesn't even need to be open source. If the author of the program took into consideration what the people are saying it would be much better.

I think the biggest problem with the CC is that you have two diametrically opposed user bases using the same product, yet it seems like it is only being developed for one of those bases. On the one side you have average users who want a simple way to keep addons updated and most likely don't care about the stuff the CC does in the background. And on the other hand there are the developers (and power-users) at wowace that want something rather small that only updates addons and doesn't automate certain processes the average user does not want to see. It's like the people that want the computer to just work and the people that want to see the computer working and be able to tweak it until it works optimally.

I know eventually the CC will be a finished and polished product, my only hope is that certain of the "working as intended" features are addressed and made optional for the more advanced user base.

    Can't add anything to this.

Yeah -- I can't see myself using this program.

Auto-Updating of the application without the ability to manually update? No thanks, I like to moderate what gets updated and when.

Auto-Updating addons? Not a terrible thing, too bad addons get overwritten or addons that aren't even remotely close to what I had/want get downloaded because it can't find the one I'm using.

CurseProfiler? Why is this addon installing itself? Tracking what addons I use? Yeah... no.

Premium account needed to one-click update? Actually that's not a problem. The "fee" is extremely low for the amount of bandwidth that's going to be used in doing this.

I think downloading directly from the website feels safer and easier. It's not like any of the addons I was one-click updating via WAU were getting major updates that I couldn't live without.

For Honor there is cargoHonor on WoWI, for bags there are Broker_Bags on WoWAce SVN and Bagsy on WoWI or CurseForge.

Yes I know. I can read.

I really wish there was some sort of naming scheme. It's such a pain to sift through 483032 of them just to find out what has and what has not been ported to LDB.

Is anyone in the process of making these plugins? They are the last two plugins I presonally need before I make the full conversion to LDB. I realize I could just use an old Fubar plugin, but I'd really rather not load FB2LDB if I don't need to.

What is the + next to names in the *_Folks block? I've tried to figure it out, but can't.

I'm not about to read through 21 pages to see if this has already been asked. I posted this on the curse page, but feel this may get more attention here:

Is it possible to reformat the label text? Instead of displaying:

Humar the Pridelord :: Curse of Agony

    I want it to display:

    Curse of Agony

I don't need to know that the curse is on Humar since I have Humar as my target.

That's why they are called "planned features" .. The question was if there is any news on this front.

Right. I somehow managed to skip over the "news" part of your post.

    Sorry!

What would be more useful for myself personally would be a blacklist mode, where I could add items to *not* auto-loot.

    +1 for this as well.

The author's already said those features are coming. I think he's busy mowing his giant yard and will have time to further develop BT4 after he's done.
