Maybe my point was misunderstood. Surprisingly perhaps, I had thought not all priests want to heal, not all warriors want to tank, etc. My main is a warlock, I _love_ it when shadow priests don't wanna heal and instead are boosting my pewpew by quite a bit! I do respect how other people want to play the game they're supposed to enjoy, including balance druids.

But apparently you don't want to "waste time" asking people how _they_ wanna play the game, which is ironic considering the open-mindedness you champion. What about my retribution paladin alt then? Last time I DPS'ed in an instance was in RFC, and I'm level 67 now. I do wanna heal, I even spent all the non-critical points in the holy tree, but hey, I'm retribution. According to you, seeing as I'm not holy specced, automatically means I wanna DPS and rather than "waste time" asking, better just ignore my entry in the LFG tool.

I do have a 70 priest too, which long after hitting 70 was still specced shadow, for whatever reasons. Most instances I did at 70, I was healing, and I do enjoy it, I have other chars to pewpew with. But apparently, since I was specced shadow, means I wanted to be DPS, so why "waste time" asking?

I'd prefer to be whispered or invited to group, and settle the question of what role I want to play in that group, rather than be judged by the choice of talents.

Sorry for the length, the off-topic, and the tone.

Fair point. I would assume that if you're specced shadow or retribution you don't want to heal since 9 times out of 10 that is the case. Saying that, however, there is a comment area in the LFG tool that you can put that information in.

"He's spec'd shadow, but he says he will heal if needed."

If you don't utilize the comment system, then yes, I am going to assume that your choice in talents is your play style choice. If, however, there are no other choices left to me I would whisper you with something like "I see you're shadow spec'd, but we need a healer. Would you like to heal for [instance name]?".

I'm sorry if this sounds too harsh, but that's an ignorant opinion. You don't need a protection warrior to tank, or a holy priest to heal, until heroic instances (and raids of course, but we're talking LFG here). What makes the difference is the gear, not the choice of talents.

This is a perfect illustration of what I was commenting on earlier today in the Extended LFG thread, I find it surprising (and sad) that I get a confirmation so soon, and on these boards.

Ignorance isn't valid here. I fully understand the healing ability of a Shadow priest and the tanking ability of a Fury Warrior, but did you ever think that the Shadow Priest doesn't want to heal or the Fury Warrior doesn't want to tank? Apparently not.

I hate people assuming I want to/can tank or heal on my Balance druid. I rather respect the speccing choice of every person. If someone is spec'd something I'm not going to ask them to do something they didn't set out to do.

    To be more on topic:

I think it's a great feature. It saves you the time of having to get whispers asking, "What spec are you?", "Can you tank this?", etc. It also saves time when putting together groups, you can (with ExtendedLFG) see the spec's for the Warriors, Priests, etc when you do a who looking for a healer or tank. Now you don't have to waste your time asking that 70 Priest if he/she can heal since it says right in the Who window that they are shadow.

Yes people, Tuller is right! The evil codecreator who tried to destroy your gaming experience earlier with the weapon of mass destruction known as 'Rock' is now coming at ya in even more cunning ways. Your enemies will become allknowing and destroy you with the greatest of ease because they know your talents! Rumour has it that these specs are not only sent to other players... They are being broadcast to all of Black Temples bosses.. Yes people, forget downing Illidan EVER... 'HE IS PREPARED! (thanks to RockComm)'

    Gotta love Paranoia :)

Remember your comment about broadcasting stupidity? Take a look at it yourself.

With the activation of voice on the US servers today, perhaps someone might want to slap together a mod to display the name and channel of anyone talking? I find this to be far more useful than displaying it on my unitframes...

I deleted DeuceCommander today in favor of the new Rock configuration thingie :D

I too have done this. It (the new Rock config) takes the best of DeuceCommander and Niagra and makes it all one giant orgy of greatness.

posted a message on Updated title: bring back the dropdowns!
You really have three options, and three options only:

    1.) Cope with the changes.
    2.) Revert to FuBar 2.0.
    3.) Switch to Titan.

Somewhere along the line you can make a suggestion on the Jira page to add in a drop down option menu. Coming on the forums posting the 397th thread containing the 4832nd post whining about the conversion to the Rock framework is not going to "fix" your problem.

It's been "public" for a week, if that. Give it time.

Also, posting complaints, requests, and bugs here will do no good. You need to use Jira.

Um, I'm not sure what's happening. Do I need to give you my address again? Cause, I mean, I didn't get my paycheck last Friday for making mods for you. If you want to make sure that I fulfill all the features you want, you gotta remember to pay me on time.

Note: that was satire, but meant to drive the point across.

You can only claim satire if you didn't ask for donations everywhere.

The difference is he's not demanding money. If kindness overwhelms you enough to send him a few dollars because you use a piece of software he has written and you enjoy it immensely, he won't mind one bit. On the flip side, if you choose not to send him money, he again won't mind one bit.

Open source is powered by use contribution, which is not limited to feedback and data submittal but also money donated to help fund the costs of upkeep. I dare you to find one open source project that doesn't have a donation link somewhere on their product or website.

The problem many people are having is they dislike how Rock handles addon configuration. Instead of submitting a sensible requestin the area where Ckknight has asked for requests to be submitted, they fly of the handle in a forum post.

Authors of freeware have zero obligation to do anything at all to their products. You have the power to use a different addon that does the same thing these addons do. If you can't part with them because there is no other addon that functions the same then it looks like you have nothing to do but wait for any issues or requests to be tended to when the author feels like it.

Until you're sending him a weekly payment he has no reason to listen to anything you are saying. Ever.

The config window obscures nearly the entire screen, cannot be moved off-screen to have a look at the changes made, and forgets the tree-structure every time it's closed.

You can drag the corners to resize it. Amazingly enough it works just like every type of window you've ever encountered on a computer..

    A couple of feature requests:

    1. Maximize on loot
    2. Option to make the minimized windows more than 1 line.

What's happening is I'm farming and autoloot grabs more than one thing, and I can't see my chat log for keeping a total of motes and such. Turning on "maximize on system" doesn't trigger it. Being able to show the last two messages in my main chat window would probably do it as well. Either option would make me happy. :)

Great mod, I love how it organizes and my chat windows.

To go more on to this:

    3. Option to limit the amount of characters shown. (if possible)

The author is having real life issues. Can't you leeches understand that and let him sort that out before he comes to develop a free addon for you?
