posted a message on Auto-Bag Request
MrPlow and AutoBag are not quite the same. AutoBag lets you specify which bag specific items should go in as well as allowing wildcards in the list definitions.

I'd like to see a version of AutoBag which ignores the bank, i.e. doesn't pull stuff from my bank to bags when it matches something on the list.

    Reason for request.
I'm trying to set up two bags, one with resist equipment in the bank and one with normal equipment in my inventory. I then simply want to switch the bags at the bank when I want to switch sets. I use AutoBag to make sure that all the equipment in question goes into inventory bag 4 anytime I switch equipment sets away from the bank. Then I switch bag 4 with a bank bag.. The problem now is that AutoBag will auto-pull items from my bank into bag 4 when I visit the bank.

If someone knows of an alternative solution I'd be interested in trying it out. I've searched all the places I know of to get mods without finding anything else like this.

posted a message on Item Value / Comparison Mod ?
Thanks for the replies. I checked out the link, and the info there combined with running MUSE helps me determine the relative value of Int, Spi, mp5 for each item which is very useful. Doesn't help with other stats but those are the main ones.

    Thanks again.

posted a message on Item Value / Comparison Mod ?
Lately I've been struggling with trying to determine which items to wear, i.e. which is better +10 Spirit, +5 Intellect, +15 Spell Damage, +5 mana per 5 secs etc ? I've found many discussion articles and the MUSE addon which helps me (my main is now a Priest) but I'm wondering if someone has written an addon that can spit out a class specific 'value' for an item ?

Example - do I keep my Mindburst Medallion (+6 Int, +5 Spi, +5 Sta) or replace with the Darkmoon Necklace (+6 Int, +5 mana per 5 secs) ?

Granted it's subjective but if someone knows of an addon like this, I'd like to try it out.

Another option that I really liked in EngInv was the 'new' toggle which would highlight recently acquired items making it very easy to spot new loot amongst all the old stuff.

I've always been impressed by MrPlow and the speed at which you fixed bugs. Thus I am very heartened to see you take on this type of bag/inv project. As Tekkub mentioned in another thread somewhere else, this is a tough nut to crack (paraphrasing).

I've tried all sorts of Bag mods, including MyBags, EngBags (EngInv+EngBank), Bagnon, Possessions, Sanity and InvSort to name a few. In the end I keep going back to a simple AIOI, the current one of choice being Bagnon which when combined with MrPlow & KC_Items is a great solution, however, as with most who have used EngBags I still find it hard to live without the sorted containers view. EngBags was just too sluggish and without character specific settings for the categories it became unusable, what is a consumable for one toon is a tradegood for another etc. InvSort showed great promise and I liked the compact tabbed view, especially with Tekkub's categories, but I found it to be very sluggish & being alpha there were a few ui bugs.

    First impressions of PlowKing.
    • Sticky Frames are hard to control - I can't seem to get them to behave the way I want even after re-reading your post about magnets :(.
    • I know the sticky frames are the distinguishing feature of PlowKing but I think most users would find a single window more intuitive. One solution would be a way to lock frames together.
    • Ability to show only certain containers would be great. I'm constantly wanting to bring up a view of only my mana regen or health regen items so I can pick one and then make the container go away. They don't even have to be smart - just allow keybinding to categories. I just started using keybinding with ItemRack suits and love it.
    • Once the bag version is 'down' a bank version is of course desired :).
    • I bound CTRL-B to PlowKing and it works very nicely.
    • I'm going to use it a bit more to get a feel for it's performance.

    Bugs.
    • I get a bug when I type /pk flatten;
    • PlowKingLayout.lua:76: attempt to call method `SaveLayout' (a nil value)

Great start, I can't wait to see what comes next.

Thanks for the link - I checked out the version on svn using Tortoise. You say above that it works for simple items sold in singles? I tried adding an item to the DB using /fr add [itemlink] 5 but I just get errors like the ones below.

Core.lua:47: bad argument #1 to `pairs' (table expected, got nil)
    ---
Core.lua:25: attempt to index global `RefillsList' (a nil value)
    ---

    WTG Bugsack ! :)

    Keep plugging away :).

I just tried to give the version you have on svn a whirl but I can't get it to do anything. I can't even get /fr to do anything. /ace list does list the addon as loaded though. On svn I saved each file (there are 3) to a folder called FreeRefills in my addons folder. Do I need to embed anything?

    Thanks,

Sweet ! Sounds nice and simple, looking forward to seeing it :).

I fully understand it may take awhile as it is your first addon - especially one which spends someone's gold ;). Good luck and I hope it's fun creating it.

P.S. I just thought of something. What would happen if I had an addon like bagboy set to auto bank my super strong dwarven ale while at the same time FreeRefills was set to bring a full stack from my bank to my bags ? Yea I know it would be pretty stupid but it will happen at some point. Wouldn't want to get caught in an endless loop...

Glad to hear you've volunteered to take this on. If you want to discuss ideas or run your concept by someone etc. send me a pm. I'd be very happy to help mould this addon :).

It would be awesome if Free Refills came to life :)
I was thinking of attempting something along these lines myself but WoW addons seem to have a very steep learning curve compared to other programming I've done (most recently Python and VB.Net). If there is a very simple addon framework I could work within I could probably handle the lua part. The addon tutorials I've found are extremely out of date and real addons seem pretty daunting. If someone could point me towards a good tutorial I'd certainly take a look.

There seem to be several mods that automatically move stuff in my bags to my bank, e.g. Sanity, BagBoy, Mr Plow and I think I even saw one called bank-o-matic. However, I haven't seen one do the reverse...

When I visit the bank one of the things I do is top up all my consumables such as potions, food, drink to the stack max. This is time consuming and dull and could easily be automated by either having a list of items to do it to or by just filling partial stacks.

Anyone know of an addon that does this or feels like writing one ? Hell even a super-macro would work for me :).

    Thanks,
