dafire - get Process Explorer from http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb896653.aspx
That is a great Task Manager replacement and let's you delve deeper to processes. There's an option to make it override the usual Task Manager.

About Ram - another friend 'in the tech' I talked to yesterday recommended that now is the right time to purchase DDR2 ram. He said that we are probably at or near the bottom of the price curve for DDR2. Once DDR3 hits the market with volume, DDR2 prices will go up.

He said that this has happened previously with every memory type. So if you are thinking on upgrading from 2GB to 4GB (as I am) for future upgrading to 64-bit OS which can fully utilize the 4GB, now's the cheapest time to do it. WinXp 32 can only use 3 GB though.

    Edit: Found a Blizz-reference to Quad-core vs Dual-core performance: http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.html;jsessionid=F598CDECC2EBBFF1464EC1A4E5D33B57?topicId=3773499400&sid=1

In the same thread there's a tip how to enable all four cores of a quad core processor. It's done by changing a config.wtf line SET processAffinityMask to "15". Going to try that later at home.

It turned out I didn't put everything to the max as you have to untoggle some checkboxes for the fullest details - I also changed multisampling to the highest offered, which was 24x24x8 I believe.

Thunder Bluff - no change really in fps, didn't have time for an AV but Shattrath test did actually lower the fps, I believe I got momentarily as low as 25 fps, but generally moving around, turning kept the fps jumping from 35-50 fps there.

With Sata drives your jumper problem days are over :)

As to cooling, I just have to mention I went with stock-cooling for gpu but for cpu I chose (a techy friend recommended) this: http://www.xigmatek.com/product/air-hdts1283.php

It has gotten praise on reviews, for example: http://www.frostytech.com/articleview.cfm?articleid=2233&page=1

My experience: 30 degrees Celsius cpu temp after initial boot, rises a bit as the temperature in my small office room rises up as well. During game time some 45-47 Celsius. After couple of hours playing and then idling, it goes to 40 and stays there.

Just check your motherboard & box space so that the cooler will fit in. My mobo is MSI p35 Neo2 Fr, box is Antec p180.

I'll have to check on AA/AF settings when I get back home - honestly can't remember now. I just remember tuning every setting to the max from video setup. But I only got the comp up Sunday evening and have been merely on a test drive for couple of hours.

I just built a Q6600 with nvidia 8800GT comp during weekend. Wow is running 60-64 fps on 3200x1200 resolution divided on 2 screens. I'm using aperture to narrow the rendered area to left screen, leaving right screen for chat, omen, map (always open) and other information.

Lowest fps was in Shattrath at Scryer bank where it momentarily went to 47. I haven't raided, but AV keeps at 60 fps even in heavy combat situations. I overclocked the Q6600 from 2.4 Ghz to 3.0 Ghz and I am running WinXp Pro with 2 GB ram. No e-peening here, just pointing out some numbers for references sake.

I'm guessing running chatty add-ons in some raid situations could hurt the fps situation but for me this upgrade was very satisfying and I'm looking forward to having this setup for the next 3-5 years (given nothing breaks). The only forseeable upgrade could be upping memory to 4 GB when/if I will move to Vista-64, but probably I'm going to wait out sp1 and maybe even sp2 before that decision.

Same thing as Hootdah. In addition when I update locations from master db and after that try to check the latest versions, nothing happens. Btw now that I'm posting with feedback - I don't want the curse version of mobmap - the real thing is at www.mobmap.de

Other than that - I have been a long time user of WUU and I've been very happy with it, so thanks for all the hard work lejordet and I'm sure these bumps will be solved in a timely fashion as well.

I had the same experience yesterday, Spellbinder was mapping G-keys as control-lcontrol. I made some hidden actionbars with Bartender and bound my keys via default Blizzard keybindings way and those understood my keybindings ok. I have a G15 keyboard with G-keys mapped as Shift-1 to Shift-0 and continuing with shift-F1 to Shift-F8.

The problem seems to be that if one wants to run ace2 mods disembedded, one should use no-ext preference. Rock mods seem to work better (or only?) when you install them embedded. Thus one global option can't control which mods should be installed embedded and which should be disembedded.

The solution would be a preference per addon to use no-ext or not. The default values could be retrieved from WUU-server but the user could change the setting locally.

Ckknight, I think you made a copy&paste error in either this or in the Fubar thread regarding Jira. The last portion is the same in both. Sorry I couldn't check which was correct as Jira signup bugged when I tried it.

Is anyone that uses pitbull using a dual monitor setup similar to this topic ( http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.html?topicId=12052602&sid=1&pageNo=1 )

I have a problem where, when I drag the pitbull frames, they like to snap to the left side of the screen, and the only reason I can think why is my dual monitor setup.

    Anyone?

The link you provided doesn't explain which kind of dual monitor setup you are running. In that guide there are various dual monitor options. I'm running dual monitor myself and haven't had issues regarding that - then again my setup may be different from yours.

There's a thread going about this problem at ElitistJerks, linking it here in case the dev team isn't aware of it:

    @bayi, thanks mate

What I liked about qcomment more than Lightheaded was the automatic map markers for quest objective locations - I see that Lightheaded now has this option as well - except it's manual and requires TomTom by the same author. qcomment was only ever made to work with nQuestlog but if it can be extended to work with bEql it would be a definate bonus and people can choose to mix&match their quest addons. Generally I think the more a quest log addon has synergy with other quest-related mods, the better it is.

I agree about keeping the quest history viewer data small - you could hook up mobmap's quest database lookup from history viewer though as you could then see the full description with rewards and all. I tend to help lower level characters with their quests (which I probably have done a loong time ago) and it's a great help and timesaver if I can check the quest out and the other person doesn't have to explain the quest fully.
