Just to point it out, this will break a few mods, as the only way to know if something like a socketBonus is active without unneeded overhead, is to check its tooltip color.

Tell that to Whitetooth ;) (TankPoints).

There are reasonably reliable tanking weights which can be measured and utilized by mods like RhadaTip.

The tank scaling values (assuming for a second that we can simplify the objective function of the optimization to max(survivability) and ignore the consequences that it will have on tps) sound like Loch Ness to me.

I've always said that the day that someone will provide me a link to a tool or a spreadsheet that computes them taking as input your gear, your rotation etc, I'd have added them to rhadatip.

    To be 100% clear.

Sources of scales not considered "garbage" are those similar to:

    • A simulation tool like Simulationcraft
    • A formulation tool like a class spreadsheet
Sources of scales that are considered worthless are:

    • Mod pre-set scales (rhadatip pre-set scales are taken from here)
    • Forum posts without the backup of the name of the tool/spreadsheet used to compute them
    • What your guildie feels is a sound choise
With dps, you have that each stat has a value that represents the dps gain for that stat's next point. For example:

    RhadaTip: "Warlock_T9_03_13_55": HitRating=3.94, SpellDamage=1.58, HasteRating=1.03, Spirit=1.11, CritRating=1.02, Intellect=0.37

As you see, no stat is worth 1. With tanks, you would have to use equivalence points, as survivability is not a measurable stat like dps or hps are. For example, you decide that 1 stamina is worth 1 more "survivability point". From there, you would obtain something like:

    dodge=0.7
    parry=0.5

    etc.

To conclude, a proper output of the above mentioned tool would look like:

    RhadaTip: "Warlock_T9_03_13_55": HitRating=3.94, SpellDamage=1.58, HasteRating=1.03, Spirit=1.11, CritRating=1.02, Intellect=0.37

with tank stats instead of caster dps stats, and it is something that I've never ever seen around, and I've asked a lot, but everyone that keeps saying that these tank scaling values exist, has always failed to link them to me.

EDIT: to avoid misinterpretation, I'm in no way criticizing whitetooth for having done tankPoints. He is one of the best coders around, and I'm sure that the math behind tankpoints is more than sound. But sound is just not what I'm interested in for rhadatip, until someone can provide a tool that meets the requirements asked above I have no interest in adding tank support.

RhadaTip 3.0.2 made it for the holidays!

Why should I upgrade from 3.0.1 to 3.0.2?

    • - The Gem Optimizer has been upgraded. Before version 3.0.2, the Optimizer would only take into consideration the gems that don't have any stat with a soft/hard cap (hit, expertise). Following the introduction of the expertise hard cap and the changes to the hit cap, I felt the need to eliminate this limitation. The new Gem Optimizer has a checkbox that, if clicked, will fire an exaustive lookup for the best possible way of gemming an item, including all the hit and expertise gems currently supported.
    • - The gear optimizer will now always properly factor in the 4 part tier bonuses.
    • - The list of supported 3.3 trinkets is as follows:
      1. Needle-Encrusted Scorpion from Devourer of Souls (5 men heroic)
      2. Ephemeral Snowflake from Marwyn (5 men heroic)
      3. Muradin's Spyglass from Gunship Armory (10 men normal)
      4. Herkuml War Token from Emblem of Frost Quartermaster
      5. Maghia's Misguided Quill from Emblem of Frost Quartermaster
      6. Purified Lunar Dust from Emblem of Frost Quartermaster
      7. Nevermelting Ice Crystal from Nevermelting Ice Crystal (5 men heroic)
      8. Althor's Abacus from Gunship Armory (25 men normal)
      9. Deathbringer's Will from Deathbringer Saurfang (25 men normal)
      10. Heroic Deathbringer's Will from Deathbringer Saurfang (25 men heroic)
      11. Heroic Muradin's Spyglass from Gunship Armory (10 men heroic)

New, 3.3 version is up. Here is the what is new:

    • Why should I update from 3.0.0b to 3.0.1?
    - The hit cap mechanism has been completely rethough, to accomodate for the need of a softcap.. Now, the user will find two hit scaling values input boxes in /rt sv, one for the pre-cap and one for the post-cap values. Entering 0 in the post cap input box will make the hit cap an hard cap, just like it was pre release 3.0.1. Entering a non-zero value will properly simulate an hit soft cap instead.
    - SimulationCraft support. The upcoming version of simulationcraft will provide the user with a line similar to this:
    ( RhadaTip: "Warlock_T9_03_13_55": HitRating=3.94, SpellDamage=1.58, HasteRating=1.03, Spirit=1.11, CritRating=1.02, Intellect=0.37 )
The user can then do a /rt inport ( RhadaTip: "Warlock_T9_03_13_55": HitRating=3.94, SpellDamage=1.58,HasteRating=1.03, Spirit=1.11, CritRating=1.02, Intellect=0.37 ) to load the scaling values faster and easier than before.
    - The gear optimizer will now always properly factor in 4ptier bonuses.
    - Updated locales.
    - Added support to tekKompare.
    - Fixed the proc chance of Egg of Mortal Essence.
    - Updated toc for 3.3.
    - Added the following 3.3 trinkets:
Needle-Encrusted Scorpion from Devourer of Souls (5 men heroic).
Ephemeral Snowflake from Marwyn (5 men heroic).
Muradin's Spyglass from Gunship Armory (10 men normal).
Herkuml War Token from Emblem of Frost Quartermaster.
Maghia's Misguided Quill from Emblem of Frost Quartermaster.
Purified Lunar Dust from Emblem of Frost Quartermaster.

    Found the issue:

    L["HitRating"] = Trefferwertung
    L["CritRating"] = Kritische Trefferwertung

Hit Rating is matching also Crit Rating.
I've uploaded 3.0.0b, hopefully that will work for you.

    HitRating = "T

It says that hit socket bonus is null, because L[HitRating] seems to me "T

Can you do this in the chat frame?

    /script print(L["HitRating"])

    and then

    /script print(_G["ITEM_MOD_HIT_RATING_SHORT"])

    About the off spec score...
It would be possible with relatively few changes to the code, to have an offspec value like that. But that is only the offspec item's self value (the first row of rhadatip), which is pretty useless in most cases. What that addon doesn't do, and the strength of rhadatip, is to actually "insert" that tooltipped item into a gear set, and that would be almost impossible to do for an offspec item.

I've been testing RhadaTip and StatScore recently.

Basically, I prefer your addon. The main reason for that is that the shown values seem more accurate to me, and are almost identic to those presented to me by Rawr (maybe you use the same calculation methods and formulars, I don't know).

But there are two things I really liked about StatScore, and I wonder if there's any chance to bring them into RhadaTip too:

    1.) Dual Spec Support

As you can see in this screenshot, the tooltip shows the score for both specs at the same time.

    2.) Support for Tanking Classes

I didn't look on other tank classes, but StatScore had a profile for tankadins too. That's awesome, and I would love to have RhadaTip supporting this as well.

Anyhow, please keep up the great work on this addon!

    Thanks :p
    I have a question...
Can you please give me a link to where I can see a tool or actual tank scaling values? Many are asking for tank support, and provided links to tank theorycrafting etc, but noone has yet been able to show me actual tanking scaling values.
As for the dual spec support...I'll see what I can do without having to slow the addon down. In the end, say that a boss drops something for your offspec: I suppose that actually swapping the spec to see if the item is worth getting should be relatively easy.

    Version 3.0 changelog:

    • - Entirely rewritten code makes the addon extremely lightweight. You won't notice a single fps drop when mousehovering items. It will also be at least 35% faster in computing the best gear combination. It will make a workaround to the issue with Autobar possible, so the two mods will finally be able to work together.
    • - All addon compatibility issues have been worked around, therefore there is no more incompatibility with Autobar or Outfitter.
    • - The expertise cap is finally in, enabling melee to achieve the same accuracy that only casters could get until now.
    • - You can now choose a minimum itemLevel value in the Gear Optimizer tab. All items in your bags below this itemLevel will be skipped by the gear optimizer. This means that you can now fire it with fishing poles, mining picks and lvl 70 items in your bags, without having them slowing it down significantly.
    • - The gear optimizer will properly work if the best solution has 2x of the same One-Handed weapons as the weapons of choice.
    • - Added all left out Trial of the Crusade Trinkets, Darkmoon Card: Greatness, and Battlemaster Ruination.
    • - Fixed the Sundial of the Exiled proc chance.
    • - Fixed the tier9 localized names.
    • - The gear optimizer will print out the items needed to achieve the best gear possible, in case there is some problem with their auto-equipment (Binds when Equipped items, too many Dragon's Eyes).
    • - Fixed an offhand evaluation bug.

New version is up, changelog is as follows:

    • Rings and trinkets comparisons should now be always accurate, regardless of hit rings currently worn by the player.
    • Added tier9 pre-saved scaling values.
    • Fixed a bug caused by One-Hand weapons that sometimes prevented the gear optimizer from working.
    • Added the following gems: Sovereign Dreadstone and Nightmare Tear.
    • Added the 3 Darkmoon Fairie: Greatness cards that had been left out of the previous releases.
    • Added russian localized tier set names (fixing the 2.1.4 known bug with the ruRU locale).
    • Added a message that shows how many gear combinations the gear optimizer is about to test (as a reference, on my pc 14400 combinations took 182 seconds to be fully evaluated).
    • Fixed a bug that was sometimes causing the gear optimizer to equip the wrong rings or trinkets.
    • The gear optimizer now factors in the 12 hit ratings from the enchantment Icewalker toward the evaluation of the excessive hit over the user specified gear hit cap.
    • The gear optimizer now supports shields properly.
    • Fixed an issue caused by mana per 5 socketbonuses in the deDE locale.
    • Rewritten many core functions to speed the addon up and make future additions (ie the expertise cap) easier to implement.
    • Updated the french locale.

New version is up, here is the changelog:

Why should I update from 2.1.3c to 2.1.4?
    - A new gear optimizer function, accessible with /rt ogear. With the click of one button, RhadaTip will scan all your items and equip the combination of them which ends up delivering the highest xPS.
    - A new menu frame, accessible with /rt menu, that makes it easier to access all the frames and functionalities offered by RhadaTip.
    - Prismatic Sockets are now treated as enchantments, therefore they are ignored.
    - Swapping specs will try to load a template of scaling values, if applicable, just like it would if you logged in with that tree as the active talent tree.
    - Added a trinket model for Reign of the Unliving and Reign of the Dead.
    - Added a trinket model for the following Brewfest trinkets: Coren's Chromium Coaster, Mithril Pocketwatch, Ancient Pickled Egg.
    - Added the ruRU locale.
    - Removed the last rare gems (Inscribed Monarch Topaz, Fractured Scarlet Ruby, Glinting Monarch Topaz, Stark Monarch Topaz).
    - Fixed an hit rating error in the WoWEquip support.
    - Fixed a bug caused by mousehovering a one-hand while having a two-hand equipped.
    - Fixed a possible bug in the average casting time value.
    - Fixed a possible bug with the Hunter class.
    - Fixed some outdated print messages.
and here are some tutorialish videos that I've made and uploaded on youtube (I know that I'm no Jack, but they are just to quickly show the main features and some how-to!).

    RhadaTip first login.
How to configure the hit cap, the default gem fillers for each socket colour, the average casting time, and more.
Item V.S. Item comparisons, "projected gear" values and more.
RhadTip and WoWEquip to optimize your gear even n items ahead of your current configuration, up until the best in slot setup.
RhadTip and WoWEquip to see how much other players' gear is worth, and quickly compare it to yours.
RhadaTip management of the talent tree swapping functionality.
    RhadaTip Gem Optimization tool.
