posted a message on Comparable mod to ICU or TrackerAssist?
I quit way WoW back when TrackerAssist [ http://wow.curse.com/downloads/details/103/ ] worked, long before TBC came out.. When I returned a few months ago, I was disappointed that it no longer worked, but found a suitable replacement called "ICU" [ http://wowui.incgamers.com/ui.php?id=3545 ] which essentially does the same thing, only better as it works for multiple targets even if "stacked" on the minimap.

Unfortunately however, this mod is no longer being developed.. While it's working now thanks to some updates in the comments section on incgamers, I'm sure at some point it's going to quit working.. and I haven't been able to locate any alternatives.

Does anyone know of a similar mod? A simple tracking assistant that will keep track of people you see (for future reference), allow you to target them similar to how ICU works, and alert to a channel of your choosing? (self/party/etc)?

Being able to switch profiles from raid, to one with arena, or for bg, or 5 man, with different options enabled is certainly something that's possible with this addon

Unfortunately I had to use per-character settings for spell selection, because Ace profiles are common to all characters and realms and this caused lots of troubles with basic usage. Thus it is not possible ATM to switch between profiles.

It's not a huge deal to turn on / off spells or change the announce channel.. though profiles would certainly be nice, they're by no means necessary for what I want.

I just like the idea of being able to choose for myself what spell is useful for a given situation.. same as I like to decide what breakfast cereal to eat :)

    Just now:

    <string>:"*:OnClick":6: in function <[string "*:OnClick"]:1>

It may be a problem with the other addon not having been updated since some change in Cartographer, but if so I'd like to find out what exactly needs to be done so I can contact the author.

I would agree with Adirelle here, who would want to announce in chat every spell the person casts anyway? I take CastYeller as an announce for important spells.

I'm not sure why you're under the misguided impression that all of these spells would be announced in every situation, and "important" is relative to the person / group / situation.

    Quote from Gahlok »
So, lets say in a boss fight, with what you are planning, you would basically keep the whole thing spammed for the entire fight, making raid chat useless for important things.

    You completely miss the point.

    Quote from Gahlok »
You might as well write your own addon, IMO Adirelle is doing an awesome job, but your suggestion is kinda irrational (and very noob... maim? Who uses maim in raids? Feral Charge? what would be the point of announcing that you are charging?)

Why would I need to write my own, when if given the option to select the spells I want, I can have this one do exactly what I want it to?

Just because you're too limited in your thinking to realize that certain announces can be useful at different times in different situations and seem to think that if they're all put in the addon, they all must be enabled at the same time in every single situation doesn't mean that's the case.

Nor does name calling actually help your case. Failing to recognize the usefulness of announcing that you've incapacitated a target in the arena, or thinking it would announce to the raid instead of your party doesn't make you a noob, and I wont stoop to your level and call you one.

Being able to switch profiles from raid, to one with arena, or for bg, or 5 man, with different options enabled is certainly something that's possible with this addon, assuming the option to select spells that I find useful is there.

It's too much for who? Isn't the point of a modification like this to give people the option to choose which spells they want to announce?

I don't want to be responsible for an addon that spams announces every time you press a key, it will render such announces meaningless. That's why the set of built-in announces is kept small.

Though adding the possibility to enable any spell goes further that what I planned, I may add it. But I won't add too much spells to built-in announces.

Who said it'd announce every time you press a key? Obviously different situations call for different announces, I'll never need all of those enabled at the same time.

The point behind my suggestion is to give me the option to select them for if/when I do need them.

That's a lot of spells, a way too much in fact. I'm considering adding an option to enable announce of any known spell.

It's too much for who? Isn't the point of a modification like this to give people the option to choose which spells they want to announce?

If I'm PVPing in arena, in a bg with friends, or world PVP, and I have a heal inc on someone, I don't need someone else tossing another heal at the same time, I don't need them breaking hibernate, or maim, or whatever.. the point is communication, and what's useful to people is going to differ person to person, situation to situation.

Giving people the flexibility to pick which spells to enable is far superior to how it's set up now.

Can you tell me which menu entries you are selecting to get to there? There are several different places to change the bar width. Default options, group options, etc.

Default Bar Settings -> Bar Width

I finally got there, but it's still a pain and takes too long to get the menu open, would be nice if you could open up a window kind of like Quartz has with all of the options there instead of a right click style menu, but I guess that's personal preference

It's not really a replacement for Chronometer. I still use Chronometer and have Target buffs/debuffs disabled. I do use Quartz for focus buffs/debuffs, though, so I can see exactly how much time is left on my poly, even when a mob of the same name dies.

Ah, well I was hoping to be able to replace eCastingBar and Chronometer with a single mod... I guess I could replace eCastingBar only.. not sure if it's worth it though? What do you think

posted a message on Quartz: Modular Casting Bar
I have tried out this mod and really like it so far, but I'm having trouble using it as a replacement for Chronometer..

I am trying to get the 'buff / debuff' timers to persist whether or not I'm targeting someone - IE: I cast a Regrowth on someone, I want to have an easy time keeping track of when it fades even if I target someone else.

Likewise, if I'm fighting 2 or 3 people, I want to know when root or mangle or something else wears off of one of them..

One nice thing about Chronometers in that regard is I can customize the text for Name - Spell, and they persist regardless of target.. can this mod accomplish that as well?

The "-0" is the deficit text, I think there's a text option labeled something like that, probably misspelled but it should be there! I don't know about the manabar, I stopped using the kind of addons which show my mana bar in forms on my druid a long time ago.

Well, this is a built in thing with PitBull, not a 3rd party mod.. so I'd think it'd be relatively easy to incorporate into a design

Can you list your font / font sizes for what you posted since it doesn't import it by default? :)
