    ..\AddOns\ClearFont\ClearFont.lua

    Read that line. The answer is staring you in the face. :)

    PS. Don't try and run CF and CF2 at the same time. It makes kittens cry.

    Stuff
    Maybe Kirkburn has an idea why this is necessary; I haven't had the time to look into it at all myself.

    I'm not sure, though it's likely a consequence of the way WoW treats those fonts. Can anyone else shed some light on this?

    Tried deleting both, still getting some default font above characters or blizzard's in-game damage stuff (whereas when clearfont2 is off it has my custom font in those spots).

    I think you're confusing yourself.

    ClearFont will override all default in-game WoW fonts, including those set by "Step Two" - Step Two is just a useful backup system (for certain addons, for example).

    If CF is off, the fonts you choose for Step Two will, of course, show through. If you want a custom damage font, edit Design.lua.

    _________________________________________________

    Meanwhile, afaik, it's all kinds of impossible for the Blizz fonts to appear at all if you perform Step Two. If you seriously are seeing that, please tell me what OS you're using, etc, and verify that you really, really have done it.

    Now regarding the chat stuff:

    • It will not change immediately when you switch fonts, you have to perform a /rl.
    • The ChatFontNormal sets only the font of the chat, and the font and size of the edit box
    • If you're having problems with it not changing delete all your chat-cache.txt files, and the CF saved variables
    • If you're still have problems after all this and can't find anything wrong, then yeah, comment out the ChatFontNormal line, and rely on Step Two to do it.
    • If you have a chat addon, and you wish to set chat font sizes, use the addon if it has that option, rather than the Blizz options. The addon will likely just override them.

    The chat frame is an odd beast, and not one I particularly wish to wrestle with - mostly it's best left to the chat addons, so I have no plans to change the current code (unless some exceptional comes up).

    The whole point of that section of code is to override the chat font without Step Two. Did you try deleting your chat-cache files?

    There aren't any words where skill names go and therefore I can't read them. The skill ranks are there and therefore I can read them. If it's the same sort of issue as you've pointed to (I believe that it is, the new monitor is 1600x1050), it's not worth mucking about with UI scaling for and I'm sorry I bothered you with it, but thanks for the tip anyway.

    Nice work on CF2, I enjoyed it. Thanks for your efforts.

    Thank you, though I'm sad you can't use it :(

    Btw, the recent spate of frequent updates is coming to an end, I won't need to be updating as frequently as I have in the past few days :P Thus, not much need for doing a separate fonts addons tbh.

    Not certain whether this is a ClearFont2 issue or if it's starts elsewhere but today I noticed that I can't read the ailities in Training windows (tho if they have a rank, I can see that) with CF2 enabled. The only way I found to restore the skill/spell names was to turn off CF2 although I did toggle a bunch in case I could find a conflicting AddOn.

    Just saying you can't "read" them tells me nothing. I can only assume that you're having the '...' issue which is covered here: http://www.clearfont.co.uk/readme.html#KnownIssues

    Hello, I am using the latest revisions of Prat 2.0 and ClearFont 2. At the moment I am using the font Myriad to replace the default blizzard font, but I am having trouble getting CF2 to properly display the Myriad font above player's heads(and mine). How can I resolve this issue? I have done Step 2 and I have tried deleting my chatcache.txt .Also, I know it's possible for this to work because it has worked for me at one point, but has since stopped working with the latest version of CF2 I suspect. Thanks in advance.

    Update again!

    Latest revision has got some stuff commented out as it's apparently tainting the main tank/assist menus in 2.1.

    A similar problem occured before the release of 2.0, so hopefully this is also resolved before release. I'm not sure if every line is currently a culprit (haven't spoken to vhaarr/rabbit yet), but they're the following lines:

    UNIT_NAME_FONT = NORMAL_TEXT_FONT
    NAMEPLATE_FONT = NORMAL_TEXT_FONT
    DAMAGE_TEXT_FONT = NUMBER_TEXT_FONT
    STANDARD_TEXT_FONT = NORMAL_TEXT_FONT
    UIDROPDOWNMENU_DEFAULT_TEXT_HEIGHT = 12 * scale

    Any testing is appreciated!

    Edit: restored the commented stuff, since 2.1 isn't here yet

    Today I removed all my Cartographer mods cause I want to re down load them fresh ( have a guild positions error )....I selected all the mods , hit d/l w/ externals...doesn't d/l NOTHING!

    More sensible would have been to select only the Cartographer addons, and check the options for DeleteBeforeExtracting and SkipVersionCheck :P

    Frustrating, but there's normally other sources for Ace addons, even if they're a few days out of date.

    Just so people see it here too, the /files server is down right now - http://www.wowace.com/forums/index.php?topic=5851.0

    Also posted on the other UI sites:

    For those having problems with the latest release, this is a library issue. The latest Ace libraries had a change which can cause "breakage" of the UI. But getting the absolute latest versions of the addons (i.e. within the past 3 days) will sort your problems. /files may show the same revision number as yours on the list, but it will come with newer libraries.

    No, ClearFont is not for handling chatframe font sizes. It gives you more options, but it does not involve itself in setting them (unlike Prat, which is why you should use Prat to set them if you have it).

    It does set the font however (at least, the latest revisions do), it just requires a /rl to take effect.

    I'm off out now. I've had a go at trying to fix the issues that the UI sites are seeing (that all Ace addons aren't working!), but I'll wait until I get back before updating them.

    If anyone else wants to check over the code and libs, please do. I can't reproduce the issue, so if someone who can has a look, I'd much appreciate it :)

    <CIA-31> ClearFont2:
    <CIA-31> * Added back the old simple ChatFrame code
    <CIA-31> * Individual chatframe code commented out
    <CIA-31> * If you have another addon that allows you to set chat font sizes, use that!
