posted a message on Prat 2.0 Chat Mod Framework - Prelease Version (Official Thread)
I have an idea regarding the ClearFont chat frame problem.

I've removed the chatfont code from the latest version of CF2 (though not the extra size options stuff, since that doesn't conflict) - perhaps it might be a good idea if Prat takes over, using SML to get the at the CF fonts?

Okay, well the easiest solution for now is:

I've removed the chatframe font stuff. To override the chatframe font, you'll need do Step Two (see the readme). I've left in the size stuff as that shouldn't conflict with anything.

Edit: zomg bolded.

Oh also, if you have an addon that allows you to set the font size of the chat frames, use that instead of the Blizzard thing, it gets overridden =) (yes, that's the complete opposite of what I said earlier)

Well, it worked fine when I disabled the Prat Fontsize module.

It even saved it between loads.

"This was an incredibly bad idea"

What was? A font addon doing fonty stuff? :)

Note: to alter chatframe font sizes, use the options given to you by Blizzard, don't use the CF scaler.

The only likely reason is the type of font being used. I have heard of the issue before ... but there's nowt I can do about it, since I've never seen a consistent reason for it - could be the OS, platform, how the WoW client was feeling that day, etc, etc.

Would have been nice to have been notified...

Oh, to bring people up to speed:

* The chat frame stuff *should* be fixed now :)
* Font packs should automagically add their fonts to the SML library as well, though I have not personally tested this.
* A spanish translation has been added (if people can add others, that'd be awesome)
* ClearFont2 isn't broken. Or is it? ;)

Is there a mod that does the same that IS Ace?

Any particular reason why it has to be Ace?

Singer Sheryl Crow has said the amount of toilet paper we use should be limited to help the environment.

Crow suggests using "only one square per restroom visit, except, of course, on those pesky occasions where two to three could be required".

Check out the rest of the story at http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/entertainment/6583067.stm

So, men, are you dabbers or are you shakers ... or neither? :/

Just noticed 2.1.0 will have an addition:

To add to Design.lua, after ChatFontNormal:
ChatFontSmall:SetFont(NORMAL_TEXT_FONT, 12 * scale)

Can this be tested in 2.0.12 and 2.1.0 and/or added? I'm not in a SVN-ing situation atm.

Of course, this is assuming the Chat section is even needed and isn't just causing problems :) Another thing for you lovely people to test.

Couple of questions I can quickly answer - if you do the "Infamous Step Two" (lol), absolutely every standard UI font should be overidden. I don't know of any changes Blizz have recently made that could affect this.

What I've been spending my time on is ... MeoWWiki! Yes, it was me.

I've added in my own font to the core addon (just by duplicating one of the original fonts and changing the names of the files). However I want to scale the chat bubbles text down as it doesn't appear to be dispalying properly. How would I do that?

Looking a the design.lua:
-- Chat bubbles STANDARD_TEXT_FONT = NORMAL_TEXT_FONT/code] One would assume to change this line to something like
-- Chat bubbles STANDARD_TEXT_FONT = NORMAL_TEXT_FONT, 6*scale
But things like that, in any format I tried just generated errors or broken the design.lua.
Yeah, that doesn't work - it's treated differently.

After having tried out all the tips here I still have the font bugs :(
Am a bit fed up and have deleted this addon.
Hope a fix or another addon will solve the font issues.

Graphical corruption has nothing to do with ClearFont - there's nothing in the code which could cause the text to display incorrectly.

I'm going to be busy over the next week or so, so I don't know how much time I'll have to look at this, but any coders are welcome to take a look at CFs code!

Hey all,

Most here may know me as the author of ClearFont (http://www.wowace.com/wiki/ClearFont2), but some may not know I'm also one of the lead admins on the WoWWiki (http://www.wowwiki.com).
Just thought I would make a short post here with stuff of interest to the Ace community.

Naturally, the wiki supports all addon communities, and tries not to be biased to one - despite possible appearances. Cosmos stores much of the documentation on the wiki hence its presence - obviously, as the Ace community has this wonderful site, you don't need to do that. :)

However, we do have a couple of pages about Ace:

Now, it would probably be good if this these are kept up to date, or expanded where useful. Ace is also linked on the http://www.wowwiki.com/Interface_Customization menu, of course.

Note that the wiki has it's own IRC channel now, also on freenode, so we can be contacted easily - irc://irc.freenode.net/wowwiki

Cheers,
Kb
