    Stuff

I don't own a Mac, so I can do no testing on the matter :( I know of no specific reason why it might occur - the only thing CF does that other mods might not is load fonts - but then, the problem doesn't seem to exist with other addons that do that on a more limted scale ...

Btw - visit the WoWWiki cause it's awesome and I spent like 10 hours deleting and fiddling with crap on it today :)
Did you know ... deleting crap is fun.

The font sizers in CF2 and Prat are incompatible. As there's no way to disable it in CF2, disable it in Prat. :)

Mine's the primary font changer, so ner-ner :P

Hi. While I like the "average dmg/heal" numbers on the buttons, I was wondering if there was any way to set those numbers to the amount of mana the spell costs instead. I don't like having big tooltips but I would quite like to know how much a spell costs. Is this already available, or is it a feature that might be considered?

    Thx.

    Aren't you talking about TheoryCraft?

Try to turn off antialiasing or set it to x1 any higher antialiasing was giving display glitches in some early versions of WoW - maybe this bugs returned ...

Or maybe it's related with graphic driver. (Catalyst 6.12 was good, 7.2 has this annoying thing again...)

    This is quite possible. :)

In other news, I've been making many more updates to the CF2 website - added screenshots and updated more pages!

Is it planned to add support for multiple fonts at once? I really liked Devla's Fontabolous with Devla's selection where different fonts were used for different things.

It's possible, but would make for a horrendous config screen. The easiest method of doing this atm would be to edit the lua yourself - the code is relatively simple.

Remember of course, updates to the lua file will overwrite your changes, so make sure you back them up.

Note that due to someone's stupid idea to merge some CF threads a while ago my main info post is currently #7, and links to this thread from elsewhere are broken. Paging an admin to sort it out!

    Hey all!

    I aten't dead, just been busy :)

I understand CF can cause graphical bugs to appear - I assure you it's not CF's fault. Similar to the '...' issue, it's CF causing underlying WoW coding to show itself :( The only real way around it would be to reduce the font size or fiddle with your resolution or UI scale. It only affects very few configs, fortunately.

As to actual code errors - default CF really shouldn't cause any. There's no fancy code, and certainly nothing that should make WoW crash. However, possible reasons why it may happen, and to check:

    * Incompatible font choice (wrong file type, etc)
    * Missing font files or incorrect path
    * "Doubled" install - e.g. having CF1 and CF2 or another font addon

Hope some of the above is useful. I know I'm not around a whole lot - WoWWiki takes a lot of admining! VISIT IT! Muahaha.

    Remember CF2 has a wiki page - http://www.wowace.com/wiki/ClearFont2 - and I'm normally on IRC, even if I don't reply.

    Cheers,
    Kb

    Quick question:

Is there anyway to fix the underscore issue with the FrancophilSans font? It's by far my favorite font but the underscore issue is annoying at times. Any suggestions?

By the way, I love you...Captain Kirk.

    Aww :)

I feel obliged to point out that that Kirk has nothing do with my username. In fact, nothing does! Explanation here: http://www.kirkburn.eu/ ;)

I can't fix the font, though, sorry. I can only hope a fixed version appears one day!

I don't have frequent access to WoW atm, so updates will be less often atm :(

Edit: yes, I really do have bandwidth costs. It surprised me too! :(

    Hi,

would anyone know where from this add-on should I look for setting that controls the font for targets "SCT"-style number scroller? I'm using the r22159 version of Clearfont, and sct r21647 if that matters, on EnGB WoW client.

I currently have problem that the font looks oddly coarse, like zoomed bitmap or something.

    Image!

I tried to change the skurri.ttf font, but it does not do anything.

    Also, tried out changing the
    -- CombatTextFont: in-built SCT-style info
    CombatTextFont:SetFont(NORMAL_TEXT_FONT, 26 * scale)
, but it seems that even with full restart of WoW client (EnGB), there is no change seen.

Any ideas what to try to "blind-hack" next, since I am not really familiar with this add-on language?

Much thanks for this nice add-on, helps a lot with my window sizes!

The blocky text issue is with WoW - I say this in the nicest way possible, but WoW has an awful text renderer. The only way to make text zoom properly in WoW is for it to change text's actual size.

Unfortunately, WoW doesn't do this, though SCT does. The text above mobs is WoW-controlled, and therefore U.G.L.Y. even when you try and make it nice, because, as you suggest, it appears to 'zoom' the text. Sad but true. :-(

Note: prove me wrong and get a lot of cookies!

Yes, this is a WoW issue, not a CF issue. It's well known, and documented on the CF website (http://www.clearfont.co.uk/readme.html#KnownIssues)

I don't really want to have to copy all the website info to here y'know =)

The solution - change the UI scale or complain to Blizzard to take a look at it.

Current changelog (new stuff in bold):

    - Complete rewrite to use Ace2 as a code base!

    - Added in-game options
You can scale and switch fonts with a menu system - via FuBar or a Minimap Icon
Fonts are chosen from a list
    Scale is a percentage slider

    - Added ability to override default design
You can override aspects of the default design by creating a
    CustomDesign.lua in the ClearFont2 directory.
    Check Readme.txt for more info
(sample file removed, may require a method overhaul)

    - Added ability to add more fonts without editing the base code
    Via a font 'plugin' addon, e.g. ClearFont_FontPack_1

    - Dynamically skins addon fonts without a UI reload
Ability can be turned off from options menu
Special fonts such as user-set addon-specific fonts should not be touched

[b]Note that ckknight has been do a bit of code (authorised!) touch-up. Will post the changelog shortly! :)

Remember, CF2 is still being developed - so, while it is not buggy or a 'beta', it is subject to changes.
