Does DKPmon check that people don't get double points? For example, if someone was selected in the database and they later join standby or the raid without being unselected from the database list will DKPmon ensure they only get points once?

Somehow someone got double points in a raid. I believe it may have been because they were in the raid but offline and on standby on an alt at the same time.

    -Javek

It can, and it will. If you're just using the "select all" method for choosing people in the raid (rather than "query raid" -- which doesn't select people who're offline), then it'll certainly happen. It's up to the person awarding points to ensure that doesn't happen.

I agree, this would be very usefull... we are considering using DKPMon for my guild, however we would need to be able to run 2 raids and sync the data of both at the end...
    Is it possible?

Yes, it's possible. Post-raid, simply have the two raid leaders (those doing the points for their raids) join the same raid group and do a points sync.

There is probably a reason for this but I'm just not seeing it. It seems like you need to be in a raid to view the dkp standings. If I want to look at the database why do I need to be in a raid to do this? What if I have one of my officers running the raid and I just want to check something?

It's the design. Viewing the points requires communication between players/addons. The choices for that communication were the hidden guild or raid channels. Guild channel precludes guild-alliances from using the addon, hence raid was chosen.

Yes i formatted it with the quotes and comma and it works. the problem is the mod is not exporting it properly. Its the dkpmon_epgpcsv mod.

You're going to have to contact the author of that mod about that one. It's not one of mine...

More than just a comma. ;-) Your table should look like this:

    DKPmon_EPGPCSV_Import_Data = {
    "Ramhammer:WARRIOR:64:Tauren:25:0:325:0",
    "Miasma:WARLOCK:70:Undead:25:0:325:0"
    }

Note the quotation marks around each line of the CSV, and the comma at the end of every line except the last.

    Javek:
If you want to write up a patch for that idea, please do. I really haven't had the time to do any recreational coding at all in months -- and, judging by how things are going, I won't until at least Christmas. In your patch, though, include a toggle option for that behaviour; I actually like the current method of doing standby, since I wouldn't use the patch I won't include it unless it can be toggled.

    Malice:
What is the CSV import doing if not working? Tonnes of people, including myself, have used it with no issues. I wouldn't recommend manually editing the points table; there are checksums and timestamps in place, and messing with the table outside of DKPmon might mess things up on you.

    Hello,
First let me thank you for developing a well rounded dkp interface.

    You're quite welcome. I try. :-)

Our guild is adopting your system with the epgp plugin. I had the Officers download and install dkpmon,dkpmon_epgp,dkpmon_eqdkp and we went on a test run in kara. We came up with a few questions and possible bugs.

    1. The Bidder comes up for people on the waitlist and or outside the isntance?

As long as they're in the raid group, Bidder will pop up for them. You can do standby with DKPmon with people who aren't in the raid, as long as they're in your guild. Just have them select the "Raid standby" option in their Bidder menu while not in the raid, then when you're awarding points do a "Query standby" in the award window under select standby members. The people on standby can even goof around on alts, as long as they set their "Bidding name" in their Bidder menu to their main.

    2. Multiple item loot problems. Can we bid off one item at a time to ensure DKP/EP is adjusted before that person can bid on Item #2 or #3?
Currently as in last night the Tier4 Token adn a nice Staff Dropped one person bidding could use both, his priority was the same evne though he bid need on both items. I think we need to auction off 1 item then be able to auction off the next item.

I don't have any experience with the EPGP plugins. In all of the DKP plugins that I did up, I made a point of allowing the loot-distributer to manually select whichever winner they want from those who "bid" by left-clicking the item in the DKPmon window. Is this option not present in the EPGP plugin?

Otherwise, if you can anticipate this problem before openning bidding on the set of items, you can right-click an item that might be double-bid and remove it from the round of bidding. Then, once the round's done, and loot distributed, reloot the corpse to do the second round.

    3. We started a log and stopped said log for the raid, reloadedui and could view the log but could not do the eqdkp export. we had no option anywhere we could find to export? we all had the dkpmon_eqdkp mod loaded.

    wT got this one. ;-)

    4. Raid time Periodic EP, the points window appeared as the timer was set for but it still had players that had left the raid selected , is there anyway to query the raid before putting the Periodic EP in the awards list? Do we have to go reselect/deselect members everytime the points window appears? IS there a module to use timediff from userjoin to userleave and calculate the periodic EP vlaue at the end of raid?

No clue. You're going to want to post this one in the EPGP-module's thread on these forums. I think the author frequents that thread more.

I know the _epgp modules are addons but I was wondering if you could help me change the bidder _showdkp command to bring up a window that shows more detail info such as EP column,GP Column and the priority currently showDKP only gives us priority not the 2 others. Query dkp shows EP/GP.

I -think- one of the EPGP authors is working on something like this. Depending on how the EP/GP values are stored in DKPmon's database, it likely involves having the EPGP module add its own showdkp command, and constructing a points window in that.

Is there a resource or documentation for command line inputs and such?

Hello, recently our guild has begun to grow quite rapidly. We are now looking for addons to help with point distribution. I understand this helps with point distribution during raids, but can this also be used to assign points outside of raids?

For example, we award points to members that send in loot to the guild bank. They can then use the points to purchase things from the guild bank. Can DKPmon and Bidder help with managing this, or should I be looking for a different addon for outside of raid point distribution? If there is something else, anything you could recommend?

Yes, it can. The only restriction is that the person you're awarding points to has to already be in your DKP database -- if they're not, it's easy enough to get them into a raid to do the point awarding.

    Banana66:
That's an lua thing. You need to enter those characters a little differently. Take a look at this post for information on how to do it:
    http://www.wowace.com/forums/index.php?topic=4046.msg137954#msg137954

    Monistatus:
    1) There isn't a generally accepted point-value for items that I know of. There's a few different formulaic ways of calculating a point value but, generally, it's whatever works.
    2) You want to look at the file "importdata.lua" in the DKPmon_CSV addon directory. It explains how to do an import.
    3) After you've deducted points, you: a) open up the points awarding window; (b) select all members in the raid and all standby members; (c) select the name of the boss/mob that dropped the items from the "select points to award" menu (the point value should appear in the bottom box of the window); (d) hit "award points".

In case you didn't know about it, the basic stuff on running a DKPmon loot distribution is on the DKPmon web site (dkpmon.googlepages.com)

Getting the following error when trying to bcast my points DB,

    terface\AddOns\beql\Libs\AceComm-2.0\AceComm-2.0.lua line 3156:
prefix + text length cannot exceed 254 bytes

I saw a post refernecing this from the begginning of the year with no actual resolution. Any thoughts on how to debug this?

    -Vlorn

That's a bug with AceComm-2.0. Unfortunately, the only way I know to "fix" it is to somehow change your points database then rebroadcast.

DKPMon is Gold with the I'm running this raid set.

Is the syntax in the SavedVariables file the same as the import, and should I try editing that directly?

No, the formats are very different.

I'm honestly not sure why it's not working. Can you try uninstalling all the Hellbender DKP modules, deleting your DKPmon savedvariables file, and trying again? You'll need to exit the game entirely for the savedvariables delete to work, btw.

Okay, so, according to your SavedVariables file you have an empty points database. Also, your CSV import appears to be correctly set up. This leads me to believe that your setup isn't the problem.

When you're testing this, do you have other people in the raid who are running DKPmon? The reason I ask is that what appears to be happening is that you're querying the points and someone else's DKPmon is responding. When you're testing this make sure that your "I'm running this raid" option is set (DKPmon -> Raid Setup -> I'm running this raid) -- the DKPmon icon should turn golden in colour when you have this selected.

The way DKPmon works is that whomever in the raid has that checked will be the one who's responding to points queries.

    halcyonabc:

To clear your points database there are two methods:
    1) At the console, type: /run DKPmon.PointsDB:WipeDatabase()
-- Note, this function isn't really meant to be used this way so there won't be any output at all. It'll just wipe the database, and not tell you.
    2) Delete your DKPmon savedvariables file: <wow directory>/WTF/<account name>/SavedVariables/DKPmon.lua

The CSV import "working" but not sounds weird. Did you want to post your importdata.lua file in the DKPmon_CSV directory? If I can see it, I might be able to find the problem. If you don't want to post it, you could email it to me instead at eraslin~at~gmail.com

The auction window not opening sounds like a potential problem with Hellbender DKP. Do my knowledge, XLoot doesn't interfere with DKPmon when running any of the other DKP modules...

    Hi all,

We are testing DKPMON and BIDDER in our guild. We are testing DKP fixed DKP system. we customized fixeddkp.lua to assign bosses rewards point and items cost.
We made a karazhan test run and all was ok.

The problem is to import the raid log to our EQDKP portal.
We tried to use DKPmon-xml format, but our portal can't manage that string. I don't understand if that format is still under development or if we need a plugin in our portal.

We tried to use CT_RaidTracker xml and it works. But the logs doesn't import switched pg (we switch 2 people after first kill and it doesn't appear in eqdkp portal) and there aren't any awards point.

What is the easier way to syncronize my DKPMON log to my EQDKP portal and what i need to do manually?

    Thanks

Someone who actually uses eqDKP can probably answer this better than I but, I'll give it a go.

    1) There is currently no publically available (that I know of) web-based DKP tool that uses the DKPmon-xml. So, right now, it's more of an academic feature.
    2) CTRT-xml doesn't actually have any tags for awarding points and embedding item costs is basically a hack. So, it will know how much items cost but, any points that you award will have to be entered somehow in your web interface for eqDKP (I have no idea how it's done).

Sorry I couldn't be more helpful.

Eraslin, I am having a problem not being able to import the DKP from my site now.

It has worked up until I updated today (last update was a while back, mabye 3 or 4 weeks).

It says the import worked, but it shows no points, no player, no anything.

The XML that's being output by the export hasn't changed since Aug 17. So, I'm not sure why it would suddenly stop working...
