    OK folks! Betabetabetabetabeta. I'll make any minor bug fixes to the current version that are needed to make it work (and upload it to the SVN and curse, I swear I will >.<). Major changes, though, will be in the WOTLK edition. There's no sense doing a whole bunch of rewriting when I'll just have to do it again in a couple months, amirite? And given that WOTLK is due around the same time my baby is, I better get it done ahead of time. :)

    So! What to expect? Because of the changes to the API, there will be a lot fewer libraries. In fact, remember how I said Ace3 = no go? Seems like there's enough API changes that my issues are no longer issues. Yay!

    If you have any feature requests (as in, "add this cause it would be cool" not "change this cause it sucks" because a lot of stuff is going to be changed anyways), please let me know.

    No, I did say that about 6 months ago, so you're not crazy! I fully admit that the only reason I've begun messing with it again is for WoWInterface's WOTLK beta giveaway. :p It's just confusing that you'd take the old version instead of the Ace'd version, is all.

    That error is popping up because you're not using the version which is uploaded at Worldofwar.net or WoWInterface.cfom. I'm sorry I haven't uploaded it to the SVN yet; I'm still hella sick and am doing the best I can.

    And fred, thanks, but that's not particularly helpful, given that it forks from the original Roleplaying Helper and not this one. You don't fix any of my bugs because you're not building on my code to start with, and it's rather misleading to insinuate as such.

    I think it's great that you are excited about continuing the idea of RPHelper, and I'm sure there are plenty of people who appreciate your version. However, those who were looking to fix rather than replace their mod will be disappointed to discover that their saved phrases are completely incompatible and that they no longer have the GUI they have become accustomed to.

    Aha! That's an error with random languages. I'll upload a fix today; in the meantime, you shouldn't have a problem if you pick a non-random language. :)

    I'm still getting "I'm Confused" on my Dranai toons a lot.Peaople are actually stopping and asking me if I'm o.k....lol!

    Does it happen when you are actually confused, like when you are hit by a scattershot? Or is it just random? You can turn it off by setting the chance in Crowd Control --> "You are confused" to 0, but I'm curious if this is firing more than it should.

    I have not yet uploaded anything to the SVN. Everything is still the same as it was a year ago. Patience, young padawan! ;) I've been traveling the last couple days; I hope to get the new version uploaded tomorrow or Monday. I'll post here when I do so!

    In the meantime, you can download the new version at WoWInterface.com. I shamelessly uploaded there first for ye olde beta key, but also because this is a new machine and I have to reconfigure all the SVN stuff in order to upload to WoWAce, which will take some time. Apologies for the delay!

    Posting again, because reporting my progress forces me to be accountable! ;)

    Stuff that's done:
    -Fixed the stupid GetNumLanguages error.
    -Moved all combat events to the massive COMBAT_LOG_UNFILTERED event. You likely won't see any performance difference, but it's something that needed to be done. ;) Professions that didn't work before, though, will now work properly.
    -Fixed a bug in keyword replacement.
    -Add a few new events (hey, it gave me something easy to do between Kael wipes last night).

    Stuff I still need to do before uploading anywhere:
    -Fix the "disable and you can't even get it back with a slash command" problem
    -Any other bugs? I think I've caught them all but I'm not sure.

    Other stuff I'm working on:
    -More events, cause events are fun. ;)
    -Look into other GUI solutions to get around the "press enter or it won't save" issue.
    -A way to separate first and last names of your target so you can say things like "Mr. Fordragon" or "Sir Bolvar" or whatever.
    -Along with the first & last names, integration with mods like FlagRSP/MyRP/ImmersionRP so you can do it with player characters too. ;)
    -Introduce a filtering system, so your stuff only fires when the target is male, or is a dragon, etc.

    Kay. After banging my head against the wall all day, I have determined that I will NOT be upgrading to Ace3 libraries. Here's why:
    -RPHelper2 relies heavily on the reverse translation capabilities of AceLocale2.2.
    -RPHelper2 uses Babble libraries that have not been upgraded to Ace3, and LibStub just isn't working for importing old libraries into the addon.
    -Some functions originally provided by AceLibrary aren't in LibStub, and I can't figure out where they've gone.

    So! Until Ace3 advances to the point that that stuff is covered, or I can figure out a clever workaround, I'll be sticking with Ace2. I'll still do what I can to cut out as much memory use as I can.

    Because I'm a horrible, opportunistic wench, I've decided to finally fix this thing, because doing so may help me snag a WOTLK beta invite. >.> However, lest you think me to slimy, I really have been planning to update it for the X-pack, and if I can do it before anything really breaks, so much the better, right? ;) No ETA, because I'm still pregnant and fantastically ill, but I have someone helping me, so it shouldn't be too long.

    What to expect:
    -Besides fixing the cheesy error that Blizz introduced by finally fixing their typo in 2.4, I'm going to look at the event firing. It seems that the combat log changes affected basic events too, because my characters seem to spew "enter combat" messages every time they engage a new opponent, which is ridiculously obnoxious.
    -Upgrade from Ace2 to Ace3. This should reduce some processing bloat, the number of libraries needed for the thing to work, and the number of really old libraries to keep on hand just so this will work.
    -Fixing known bugs that have been there foreeeeeeeever.
    -Maybe add some new features? This depends on how well the rest of it goes. ;)

    Somebody recently asked me about this mod following 2.4. The interface doesn't come up anymore when you type /rp. However, you may have noticed I haven't posted any updates for awhile. I ought to have posted immediately when it became clear I would no longer be able to support this, but better late than never, right? >.>

    Anyway, I am pregnant and quite ill, and I'm barely able to keep up with my out-of-WoW responsibilities. I don't see a time in the foreseeable future wherein I will be able to continue this project, so if anyone wants to pick it up, please be my guest. I'd be happy to send you whatever files you need.

    As for the RPHelper GUI thing - are you guys using the WoW Ace Updater or just downloading the zip? I know it extracts OK with the WoW Ace updater. I guess that's another stupid thing I need to figure out about the SVN. ARG.

    Icedog - That functionality sort of exists - if you are in an instance, you can change the channel to /party or /yell. I can change it to whenever you are partied. I did it the way it is now because I was afraid of /yell abuse, but I think I can remove /yell from the list when you are not in an instance.

    Theeo - The lack of the global slider is kind of intentional. A lot of people have complained about the spamminess of RP Mods, and even a 10% chance can border on overload for some people.

    Thanks for the errors; I'll look into fixing them.

    Privelgus - I think I fixed that problem.

    Right now I think the mod is pretty much finished, except that it is causing the client to freeze in some cases. I have NO idea why. :( Hoping some of the lovely people in this community can give me some ideas.

    No problem! I'm the 3rd or 4th person this mod has passed to, and so the code was just a mess. Now it's comprehensible again.

    I added the low mana event! It'll fire if you get below 15% mana. It's in the new version that I uploaded just now.

    I know. The nice thing about the libraries, though, is that in general other people do the translations for me. ;) If I go ahead and help out with BabbleMount, maybe I'll save some other poor sap from looking up all the translations himself in the future.
