I am shaman and when I drop Fire Nova Totem I got this error:

Error: Interface\AddOns\Chronometer\Core\Chronometer.lua:283: bad argument #1 to `unpack' (table expected, got nil)

sorry for quoting myself. but i would like to see this error fixed if possible. its very annoying to get error every time when using fire nova totem.

Sorry about that one taking so long... It was still looking for the "Improved Fire Nova Totem" talent, which doesn't exist anymore. Should be fixed now (although translations other than English are currently missing).

And as far as all of the stuff with Fire Vulnerability, Healing Way, Ancestral Fortitude, etc... All of those kinds of indirect buffs/debuffs are a real pain in the ass to work with. There is no chat message sent when the buff/debuff gets refreshed, and the current framework of Chronometer doesn't have any way to deal with it.

At some point I will add in something so that if (and only if) you have a 100% chance of applying some buff/debuff refresh the applications appropriately; that change will probably come with the other big changes that will be needed for TBC.

I'm not going to make any changes to the actual debuff detection code until 2.0 comes out, with it's new spell events. For now, I'd just recommend turning off "/chron fade" when you're in a group with more than one of your class present.

I love this mod works great.

But it dosnt bring up bars for Berserking or Blood Fury (Troll and Orc racials) maybe other racials too. surely this is an oversite?

Yeah, racials have been on my todo list. I finally put 'em in today.

    This one should be fixed.

Since SpellCacheLib and SpellStatusLib do not work at all with TBC, is there an alternative way to monitor spell times?

I guess I'll figure that out when TBC comes out. Till then, unless someone with a beta account wants to make a TBC branch, we'll all just have to wait.

    still waiting for
    a) ignore list
    b) rogue poisions

Yeah, I do plan on doing the ignore list sometime... For now the best I can offer is that you can delete lines from the Data\Rogue.lua file.

I can certainly do poisons, but there are going some severe limitations that might hinder their usefulness. I don't (currently - maybe in TBC, not sure since I don't have a beta account) have a way to tell when a poison has been reapplied, so you'll get the initial bar, but if you reapply the poison the bar will go away after however many seconds from the initial application and won't come back until the poison fades from them and is then reapplied.

Yeah... I need to take some time to figure that one out.

    posted a message on CandyBars
As an author of a CandyBars addon, and a user of several CandyBars addons, I think it'd be nice if we could try to come up with a system that allows for standardized configuration of CandyBars appearance.

As it stands right now, the amount of configurability and default settings for addons like oCD, CDT, Chronometer, Antagonist, etc. are all over the map, and for each of these addons users must learn a new set of commands to control the appearance of the bars. In some cases, there is simply no way apart from editing the code for the addons to get a uniform appearance from all of the bars.

So I've been trying to think of some potential implementations for this - here are a couple of my ideas.

    • A "CandyBars options" table stored in the library (or accessible via an accessor function that could change some parameters such as the location of the variable in which to store settings). Client addons would retrieve this table and inject it into their own options table and/or other configuration mechanism.
    • The CandyBars options would be pointed at a table variable to modify - probably stored in the addon's AceDB profile. A default table would also be retrievable from the library to allow a uniform default appearance.

The options table would be passed as a whole to a CandyBars function rather than using individual accessors. This would allow addon/removing/changing members of the options table without each addon author having to go through and change how his or her addon creates bars.

Sharing configurations between CandyBars addons would still need to be solved (although it would be easier to configure them individually to the same appearance, with a uniform configuration UI).

    • A CandyBars configuration management utility/addon. Addons based on CandyBars would not actually set any of the CandyBars appearance options themselves; instead, the options would be arranged into CandyBars option-sets by the configuration management utility, and addons would select which option set to use by name.
    • This allows for more easily sharing configurations, although I'm sure there are some downsides I haven't yet foreseen, as I didn't spend as much time thinking this one through.

Textures would be the other issue, and they seem to be a bit more complicated (as we seem to have found from the old default texture which had to be removed so that people stopped getting transparent bars). Maybe haste's new SurfaceLib can help with this one.

i hate bars ! need an option where it shows the icons of the spell with a lil timer under it (like a buff, debuff) :).

    no bar !

No bars, eh? Well, maybe a timer mod based on the CandyBars library isn't for you then.

Here's the deal: if someone else has the time and inclination to implement a CandyBars mode that just uses icons and textual timers, Chronometer would most certainly be capable of using that mode.

took chronometer away, reinstalled it. Dissabled all other addons. Nothing worked. Guess I just have to change to another timer :(

Try assigning a texture to the bar - it solved that problem for me! I just assigned the smooth texture.

    Platy

Or maybe just delete your saved variables file(s) for Chronometer. It almost has to be something there, because there are plenty of other people using Chronometer with no problem, and the files in your AddOns/Chronometer folder are almost certainly identical with theirs.

hi, do you plan make some sort of options what player want to see and what not???

Eventually I'd like to have a checklist in the options that will let you turn on/off each spell. For now, you can go into the .lua file for your class in the Chronometer/Data/ folder folder and remove the lines that reference the spells you don't want to see.

I have gotten a weird thing since I update. My bars are totally transparent. Get a timer, the name and the glow effect on the back of the bar. But no color, haven't changed any settins, tried to change all settings. Nothing happens at all

    What revision is this in?

Update just now to 14648 and I still have the error :S

Well 14648 was broken for other reasons... As far as transparent bars: what other addons do you have that use CandyBars, and how recently have those ones been updated?

    Missing externals bug again.

Would y'all (other people who make changes to Chronometer) mind checking the files site when you do a checkin to make sure the externals got in, and ping the TOC or something if they didn't?

When raiding as a Hunter I like to use serpent alot due to lazy bums not utilising the full debuff slots but it gets annoying when the timer bar disappears before the full duration of the spell works due to another serpent sting fading off the mob before mine.
I've browsed this post before and youve said its something your working on but you could check out http://www.curse-gaming.com/en/wow/addons-3836-sorrens-hunter-timers-continued.html and gander at the code in this mod as I used it before changing to Chronometer and it never had my serpent sting timer fade before the spell had completed.

From a quick glance at the SHT code, he basically just doesn't ever remove a sting if it fades early. If someone cures poison on your sting, the SHT bar will keep going and the Chronometer one won't.

However, in a raid it can get pretty annoying with other people's debuffs fading get rid if your bars. Try using the "/chron fade" option (at least while in raids) and the bars will behave like those in SHT (will only disappear when the timer reaches 0).
