Why can't you click the live-list, btw? During combat, you can show stuff on the screen, but you can't make it clickable if it wasn't clickable before? Just curious about the mechanism behind it

It's because of Blizzard changes in WoW 2.0, Add-ons can no longer target units or cast spells directly.
Blizzard wants players to take actions and think to play. So single-button-casting add-ons are impossible since WoW 2.0. Player have to choose manually their target and the spells they want to use.
Decursive uses new Blizzard's "click casting" solution, it's the only way for add-ons to use spells and target players.

Is there a way to have default priorities, like tanks come first, healers second, and rest of the world after ? Most of the time it's more important to decurse theses ones than myself.

Well no, because healers and tanks are not easily recognisable, so you have to put them at the top of your priorities each time they change.

I'd like to ask for a feature. Playing with Kalegcos in Sunwell I thought what if Decursive could add a nice little timer on the miniframes. Simply a timer that starts whenever the person gets a curse/debuff and ofc displays on that person's square. Do you think it could be done?

What can be done rather easily is to display the remaining time of a debuff, the only downside is that it would take a little bit more CPU resources to update the MUFs. But I think I'll do it as soon as I get some time :)

The priority list (that you define yourself) changes the default order of the MUFs, the first person of the priority list will have its MUF in first position.
The live-list (I think it's what you call "la liste des priorit?s") is not clickable (Blizzard limitation).

Is there anything like decursive but to dispell enemies (specially for arena)?

No there isn't because it's impossible to scrutinize enemies, they can only be analysed by add-ons if they are targeted or focused by a player.
But the macro Decursive creates will work on enemies too, you just have to put your mouse over the enemy and push the key linked to the macro (with a modifier if necessary such as ctrl, alt or shift depending on your curing priorities).

Any particular need to be adversarial?

oh yep, I don't like when someone tells me that he knows my job better than I do when he obviously doesn't, I get easily angry with this kind of people especially when those people are expressing bad will.

Yes, it was a code change more extensive than localization updates, which is what I was referring to ;). I of course would have covered more variables in my testing...if it did not involve killing my raid. Thus the limited report which will have to do here.

I'm sorry but Decursive is not installed by default with WoW... so I think that you can play without it. Moreover, there are other add-ons and macro that could help you to cure people, the only thing you really need is something that tells you when someone has a debuff.
So with a simple mouseover macro and a raid ui add-on such as sRiadframe or the one you use, you could cure people if Decursive happens to stop working...
All I see is bad will from your part...

So that's why I'm angry with you, you are desperate to be right about everything you say even if someone more competent than you tells you that you're wrong.

My testing/usage experiences of Decursive from 2 to 3 months ago do not corroborate with these other reports (I had not seen) you are mentioning. When testing uncovers a problem here--only after a code change--the first place I'm trained to go looking is at the code. With increasing corroborating bug reports, the code gets more thorough looks. Finally, if there are similar bug reports but with different software revisions that may have been filed earlier, looking at externals comes into play. Less so--here at least--if such reports don't reflect testing results that align with my own with the same revisions.

And I, the only coder of Decursive, the one who wrote all the 14,000+ lines of code tells you that it's probably not related...
You should also be aware that Decursive is a very popular mod and so it has tens of thousands of users probably hundreds of thousands... (the last beta release has been downloaded 107,000 times since the 12 February on Curse.com only)
So if Decursive was broken as you say it is I think that I would have tens of reports like yours... but till now you are the only one who reported this issue since the changes you refer to.

And (I really don't know why I spend so much time answering you) here is a link to a bug report highlty similar to yours from December, 7th:
    http://www.curse.fr/downloads/details/3011/?cpage=4
    ------

The Holy fire in the maiden of virtue fight in Kara is not being picked up at all with my decursive. It works perfectly in everyother situation (bg's, arena, other raid bosses). Is there something I'm not setting up correctly?

    Thanks for your help

I remember there was at least another report like this one but I can't find it and I have more interesting things to do...

And for meaningless info: I do professional software testing at a mid-sized software company as well program in Java, the result of which I have no desire after work to program anything more ;) (LUA).

    Well I'm very surprised.

Cool. I use Emacs :P. Well, at work at least. You prefer Gvim, Cream or compile from source on Linux? I might get around to sending the file after the 2.4 fallout is over.

THAT explains a few things, I can't stand emacs users... nah... I'm just kidding.

There is only three possibilities :
1- you lied when you told me that it would take you hours to parse addons.txt
2- you use Emacs like you use notepad... which could also imply some other things ;)
    3- Emacs is overrated.

I want to apologize to the readers of this thread about this stupid argument but I can't resist...

PS: I realize that I'm really nasty in this reply but I had a tough day.

And I don't get any money for taking time to provide UI mod bug reports, either

The amount of time and work needed to program a mod like Decursive and the one needed to file a bug report is just not the same ;)

    Quote from Zidomo »

Suggesting I retest the version already tested--with a high probability of raid members dying doing so--in order to get more testing data than I have already provided you was an initiator. [...] The "it's not my mod, its the other guy's" first thought always gets my hair up, despite the limiters on the bug report (one revision with major code changes from the last no-issue revision used here, one in-use incident).

The last revision was not a major code change, just a renaming of some variables and a change of library. And for at least the third time let me remind you that the exact same issue was reported 2 or 3 times months ago by other persons... So these code changes have nothing to do with it, it's just a coincidence.

Obviously you are not a programmer, the only interesting part in your bug report was this little sentence : "the Decursive button for him did not light up for at least 6 seconds" apart from this sentence your bug report is as good as "it didn't work", so this interesting little piece of information points me toward a AceEvent related problem and so I gave you some more tests to do if the problem reoccurs to confirm or not that problem.
These little tests would save me several hours (and I do not exaggerate) of investigations.
Since it's a very rare issue and that all the persons who experienced it were not able to provide me good bug report the chances that I can pinpoint the problem are very slim.

    Quote from Zidomo »

My Addons.txt file for the character where the issue occurred is 55kb in size with literally hundreds of "enabled" and "disabled" entries. That's what happens after two years of addon testing ;). Thus the need to parse out the disabled entries, as trying to cross-reference with someone else's Addons.txt file will be very difficult otherwise. Unless you'd like to spend the time sorting through over 2300 lines of "(mod name): enabled", "(mod name): disabled" (about 2000 of them are "disabled"). If so, let me know and I'll PM it to you :). If someone else posts the same problem with the recent revisions, I may put in the time, parse the file and post it.

It could be 55Mb it would take me just one second to remove all the lines containing "Disabled" then another second to sort it in alphabetic order, another second to compare it with another addons.txt file and keep only the entries in both, etc... I don't program with Notepad but with something named Vim ( www.Vim.org )
So just send me your addons.txt file, no work is required on your part. Send me the file without any modification.

It comes down to...I provide a bug report with as much info as I can reasonably provide, you can do with it as you like. If nothing is your choice, cool. No matter to me, really. Though I usually hope something constructive can come out of the time I take posting detailed mod issues. As I'm sure you also want something constructive/good to come out of the time you take providing your mod for people to use.

Well I thank you for taking some of you're time to write this bug report but it's not enough, it doesn't give me the information I need. So just keep in mind this test to do if the problem happens again:

First enable the MUF tool-tips (on by default) then if you see that Decursive doesn't detect something it should, put you're mouse over the MUF of the unit concerned, when you do this, Decursive scans the unit and update the MUF accordingly (if the tool-tips are active).
If the MUF stay neutral then the problem is Decursive related else it's AceEvent related.

As you said work is required on both parts, I've already taken from my time to re-check some part of Decursive code after your initial post and found nothing. It's your turn now.

If all my users were like you I would have stopped developing Decursive a long time ago...
Let me remind you that ALL the persons working or developing add-ons here are doing it in their free time for fun and for the pleasure to share their work.
We don't get any money for this work, and trust me, an add-on like Decursive represents several hundreds of hours of work!
You should keep in mind that you are not my client, there is no contract between you and me that obliged me to fix anything.

If you are unwilling to look at it, I'm unwilling to spend the hours and hours it will take to manually parse the Addons.txt file for this character to provide a readable addon list.

Sorry but I already look at this problem the first time it was reported 4 or 5 months ago and found nothing in Decursive code that could explain this behavior.

The AddOns.txt file located in "World of Warcraft\WTF\Account\_USERNAME_\_SERVERNAME_\_CHARACTERNAME_\" contains all the add-ons used by the chracter, this was all I needed...

Last note: All the add-ons you download on files.wowace.com are BETA QUALITY SOFTWARE. If you download them you are accepting to take the risks and the time to help the author(s) fix their program. You have no right to complain.

back to r63107 until can be assured ahead of time that the issue will not reoccur. So what I experienced at the time the problem occurred will have to do.

I'm sorry but if no one is willing to make tests during the maiden fight there is absolutely no chance I can figure this out... I won't spend hours and hours I don't have to look for something that is probably not related to Decursive code. And has I said this problem already occured way before r63107 so you will certainly experience it again.

The Maiden fight has nothing special for Decursive it's probably another mod that stress AceEvent too much or something similar, can you give me the full list of all your add-ons? At least if someone else report the same problem again (in probably 3 or 4 month from now) I will be able to cross your lists...

Try to update again, WAU probably "forgot" some files... or use Jwowupdater (google it).
You can also download directly this archive : http://www.2072productions.com/?to=decursive_dev and extract it in your addon folder.

This very strange problem has been reported several times by a few people this last year, I created the diagnostic tool mainly to prevent such problems. When you see that decursive does not pick up something it should, you can do several things to diagnose the problem:

    1) Run the command /dcrdiag it will test if all files and required libraries with the right version are loaded correclty and it will test if AceEvent is working properly... (Decursive already does this test when the game is loaded but AceEvent is only tested when you use the command /dcrdiag).

    2) Put your mouse cursor over the MUF that should be lit (when you do this Decursive re-scans the unit), if the MUF lights it means that the library SpecialEvent-Aura did not detect the debuff or that AceEvent is not working at this time ; if it doesn't light then something very strange is happening.

Can you tell me if the afflicted players were afflicted by several things?

The weird thing is that this only happens with the Mainden of Virtue and not to everyone so I think that either AceEvent or SpecialEventAura are not forwarding the events correcly during this particular fight probably due to another add-on that causes a malfunction.
What boss mod add-on are you using? Or even better can you give me the list of all the add-on's you use?

Note that there is no exception of any sort in Decursive code, if it works for a trashmob, it should work for everything else.

Until now nobody experiencing this issue gave me enough information to trace down this weird problem.

Can you also tell me what was your refresh rate during this fight?

The MRA (Most Recent Afflictions) list is not saved so when you log off it disappears, it could easily be saved though.

The descriptions are not captured because there is no real API to get them, the only way is to ask the game to create a "debuff tool-tip" (while the debuff exists on a unit) and read the content... needless to say that it would be a resource hog to get all the descriptions ; however when you mouse over the live-list, those tool-tips are created, they could be stored at this time but I'm not sure it'll be very effective :/

    Question on Affliction Filtering.

Under "add a recent affliction" shows a list of the curse/disease names. Is there the description of what each does to a player captured somewhere to help determine which class to skip configuring this?

one said curse of blood, for example, now out of combat I cannot remember what that one affected.

Since logging out and now back in notice the recent affliction list is gone. Which file was that?

Would like to have added them all..hunted and picked through the descriptions to configure the classes

The mouseover descriptions of debuffs in combat...Are these in any way captured for help configuring the filters?

There is a wonderful feature named 'priority list' where you can add people in a lot of different ways :
    - per name
    - per group
    - per classes

the last two options are dynamic, so just add group 1 through 8 and your good (you should add yourself in the first position though) :)

Just bring the priority window by ctrl-clicking the MUF handle and then click on the 'p' button at the top of the priority window to populate the list.

but you should note that the default order is more effective since it optimizes decursing efficiency by avoiding several people from decursing the same players at the same time.

    the default order is :
you - your group - the group after yours - the groups before yours

    Quote from Ch3vr0n »

i recently switched to this decursing mod and i like it, however 1 thing MAJORLY bugs me, and thats the players on the MUF's arent organised by groups. I tried pretty much every option on the mufs i could find, even changing the players/rows to show but nothing helps. I read every .txt in the mod folder but i still cant find it.

Can anyone PLEASE tell me how i can change the order of the MUF's to show the players appear in the raid groups ?

Cause even though i love this mod, because i cant see the units in group order its enough to make me want to switch.
