Aha! It turns out that the breadcrumb feature is now part of the Quest Completist mod. Thanks everyone for your advice.
Here's the description from the mod notes:
New Breadcrumb Warnings: If you attempt to pick up a quest for which a breadcrumb exists, the addon will check if you have completed that breadcrumb, and if not you will see a warning appear below the in-game quest dialog giving you details of the quest you have missed.
Yeah ... I know what breadcrumb quests are. So wait - is that pop up warning me not to take the quest from the guy I'm talking to but to go finish the Night Watch quest instead? Hmmmm.
Ok, so is it a mod pop up or is it part of the game UI? I assume it's a mod ...
So I've been taking a break from the game and when I started up today, I noticed that sometimes when I'm at a questgiver, I see a little note under the quest description panel that says 1(or 2) Breadcrumbs available.
the thing is, that image shows that the "breadcrumb" is actually a quest, The Night Watch, which I'd alread accepted and which had nothing to do with Abercrombie, who is the guy I was talking to when this notice popped up.
I tried googling but my fu was weak. Is this something new in the game? What is it a mod? What is it trying to say about the Night Watch quest?
Hi - I'm making a new layout and want to create several chat windows to have onscreen at once. Is there a chat mod that will save the position of the new windows so that I can load it on each of my alts or do I need to set them up by hand for each one?
I've tried Prat and Phanx chat. Even using Prat's profiles, it doesn't save the new windows I've created.
Are you aware there is a configuration panel for that filter so would let you remove any item from any category ?
Yeah, I know about that. That works fine. What I was talking about was using the configuration panel to move items between filters. I don't mean to harp on about it though. I'll shut up now.
Thanks for the great addon. I really do like this a lot.
@Merneith : If I correctly understand you problem, you can drag'n'drop the item on the title of the category in your bag. Note that you have to have at least one item in the category for the title to appear, as empty categories are not shown.
Yeah, I get that part. That part works fine for me.
What I'm saying (and it's just a suggestion, of course) is - wouldn't it make life easier if we could drag the items over to the categories which are already listed on the manual filter page? And also, wouldn't it be a good thing to be able to drag and drop the items listed on the manual filter page into different categories.
For example, I really want weapons to appear in their own category. So I have a category called 1H Swords and another for 2H Swords. But I accidentally assigned an item to a category called 1H Sword - no plural - and now I've got that one sword in its own category. And I don't have the sword itself any more, so I can't edit it. The suggestions above would let us edit the categories even if we don't actually have the item anymore.
So that's what I was talking about. I don't even know if it's possible. I just wanted to toss the idea out there.
You know how when you create a manual filter, the filtered items & new categories are listed beneath the manual filtering text boxes?
Ok - Say I want to create a manual filter for Wands. I drag a Wand icon into the slot, then I type in the name for the new section - "Wands" - then I choose an association from the dropdown menu to associate it with a basic category?
Would it be possible to make the second step a dropdown containing all the previous manual filters I've created? So if I drag a second wand into the box, I could just have the "Wands" section in a drop down for the second step?
Alternatively, say I have two wands in my inventory - a burning wand and a mystic wand. I set up the Wands category, like normal, using the burning wand. Then I equip the burning wand. Now the only wand listed in my inventory is the mystic wand, which is still filed under the general category, "Equipment".
Would it be possible add the mystic wand to the "Wands" category by dragging & dropping the mystic wand icon on the Wands section listed in the manual filter list?
Either of these options would prevent confusion from, say, making a typo when you try to add an item to an existing category but you don't have a previously manually-filtered specimen in your inventory so you could drag & drop onto the category in your inventory list.
Hey funky, if it's not too much trouble, would you mind cutting & pasting the info for each new item into your update post? I get email notification for this thread, and it always copies the content of your post - if the link is there, not just in the first post, then I could click the link in when I see the email in gmail.
It works that way for everyone's gmail I guess. It's a small thing, I just thought I'd ask.
Short version:
Hi - I'm running Curse Client 4.0.1.88 on Win7, 64bit. What the heck is the installation path for CurseClient.exe?
Long version:
Win7 has a feature called Jumplists which let you do various things with different programs. I'm using a program called JumplistLauncher to create a special, user-defined, set of programs to start. I want to have an entry there for Curse Client.
There's a dozen different curse folders in \Local\Apps\\WPEY6K29.AV9\AH3XQ76Y.6ZQ, some of them old, some fairly ancient, some quite recent, and several different versions of CurseClient.exe.
Which one is the latest and shouldn't Curse's installation include tidying up all these old versions?
Have you tried looking through the general Saved Variables folder, not just the character ones? Sometimes stuff gets stored in there ...
Also, I've found with SUF that after making a lot of changes, I often have to reload the UI to get everything to register properly.
Another thing to try is use Tekkub's Ampere mod to double check what's actually loaded and what isn't. Ampere is a little easier to use and lets you load & unload mods without having to log in and out of your character. It can easily reload your UI too, when you swap your mods around.
From what I've been able to test in both Auctioneer and Auction Lite, the fast mode works great if you have a latency below 100ms. If your latency is higher, you could get disconnected.
Hm. I just now tried doing a scan after making sure my latency was below 100. It worked! I'll keep an eye on this and try again tomorrow night.
What I was trying to say in the OP was that previously, my experience was like gamemaster's - I always used the fast scan feature and never had a problem. The problem has only developed in the last week. Furthermore, the problem doesn't seem to be just with one auction mod but several.
So I was wondering if there's a router setting or something I could do to help cut down on the disconnects. I agree it sounds sort of like a hardware problem. I wonder if the recent temperature spike is interfering. I'm already connected to the router via ethernet.

I enter the path, and then also tried entering "C:\Users\Merneith\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Curse\Curse Client"
but both answers get me the German denial again.

Here's link to JumplistLauncher, for reference -
http://en.www.ali.dj/jumplist-launcher/
And here's a screenshot of how I want it set up -
The problem is, when I click on the CurseClient entry, I get an error message (in German, no less): Datei wurde nicht gefunden ie - file not found.
The problem seems to be that Curse installs itself in a bunch of different weird folders with elipses in the title - like this:
C:\Users\<USERNAME>\AppData\Local\Apps\2.0\WPEY6K29.AV9\AH3XQ76Y.6ZQ\curs..tion_eee711038731a406_0004.0000_172b37d625a3ec8
