Why not simply let Threat1.0 check if an "tXXXXX" message is broadcasted and then autoswitch to broadcasting (toggleable, on by default)?

Well, that's roughly what it does although it is disabled by default. It only broadcasts if :
    * it is enabled,
    * ThreatLib is active,
    * AND any pure KLHTM user has been detected.

It seems a lot of people doesn't want it to be enabled by default.

Damn, if people have to enable something, they would never do that... Just look at the recent feedback for Omen - most of the suggested functions are already there!

What is the downside of having it enabled by default? That it has to check for [tXXXX]-Messages everytime the group changes + enters combat?

Well at least it is implemented to Threat and the KTM-fans can now rest in peace...

Option to enable KLHTM broadcasting may be added to other ThreatLib front-ends (Antiarc said it will add it to Omen).

r40420 - ran steamvaults today, 2 KTM-users, no errors or any complaints from the other 2 guys...

Just wanted to give some positive feedback, not always bugreports ;-)

Great idea, is KTM expecting to get numbers on Version query or could you send "Threat1.0 rxxxxx" as KTM-version?

Would be also nice to know which Threat version people use within Omen/Threat btw. - lazy people evrywhere...

    Quote from Adirelle »
Also, please notice that TTK won't send *total* but only increases so you'll have to reset both at the same time to have the same kind of numbers.

I thought KTM always sends something like [KTM]t3000 [KTM]t5783 [KTM]t9345 <-- your total threat, not increases like t3000 t2783 t3562...

Could also be "Furor"... (not the dev :P ) http://wow.buffed.de/?f=fury&x=0&y=0 <-- most of the time "fury" means "Zorn" in german... dunno about this spell though.

Perhaps someone with a more "famous" name than mine could suggest that Wowhead stores locale information? Would be helpful for sure...

I don't see the need. If people insist on running an inefficient and inadequate mod then isn't that their problem? I know my guild will be switching to ThreatLib once the values are all in :) .

Hm, as much as I know, KTM was the first threatmeter out there, or at least the best developed one...

Threat 1.0 uses many values for threat coefficients from KTM that otherwise would be very difficult to get in such a short time.
It would be also unfair/unlogical to get threatlevels from people who use the other _working_ threatmeter but be selfish and keep your values for your own people...

I see some kind of oRA2 <--> CT_Raidassist parallell here.

At least make it toggleable/LoD plugin to send optional KTM-style threatnumbers (no fixed target: GLOBAL-threat, if the target is fixed the threat for the target...)

Uhm well DrDamage calculate total damage on spells with dot effects. Maybe that can be used somehow?

    Hm, read the whole thread!
    /bonk

    :P

Oh and I see the problem with spelldamage-modifiers (shadow weaving, curse of elements...), I don't think this affects a debuff significantly, but it shold be something to take into consideration.

Ah, what about my idea of giving Mobs unique "Debuff-IDs"?
    Could this be possible?

Hm, will Threat 1.0 send data in "KTM-Format" to other raidmembers?

    Reason:
Even though Threat 1.0 perhaps is the better alternative, there will still be people who use only KTM - and it would be kinda unfair to cut them off.

Perhaps make this option toggleable (even though I doubt it coud have any significant impact on performance to send 2 addonmessages with your current threatlevel instead of 1...) or perhaps even better, let Threat 1.0 check if some others use KTM (addonmessages...), if yes, send your threat also "KTM-style" if not, don't...

Hm, I don't think you can find out the raidicon creatureX has since 2.0...

But: We have accurate DoT-Timers now - perhaps this can be used to generate some kind of ID?

    2 identical mobs:
Hoggerboy, lvl70 - my vampiric embrace will last x milliseconds (or whatever)
Hoggerboy, lvl70 - my sw:p will last y milliseconds and VE will last z milliseconds

Can this be enough to give mobs you cast a spell on some kind of unique ID?

Ofcourse use this only if name + lvl are not enough...

Perhaps check the combat log every 3(<--depending on the debuff!) seconds - since you can have (internal?) debufftimers for every mob you know when to expect the damage in the log for "Hoggerboy1" and when for "Hoggerboy2"

I suggest some kind of calculation, how many HP your target would have if all current DoTs tick down to zero.

Perhaps split the hp-bar like this...

    Hogger ?? (elite)
    IIIIIIII/IIIIIIIIIIIII..... 70 (30) %

Green = HP if all dots tick away, Red = current HP, ... = Damage already done

This would make Life a lot easier for dotlocks + shadowpriests and perhaps would be not much of a "hack" (Check talents how many ticks you can expect, wait till 1 dot ticks, multiply by x and display that number)

It seems the Hunter ability Mend Pet currently isn't handled, it appears to generate the same threat any healing spell would. (Testing with rank 1, which heals for 25/tick I needed 8 ticks to pull aggro when my pet had dealt 90 damage while in melee range, which is a very close margin to what I'd expect)

Should this not be generating threat? I'm confused.

Perhaps it IS generating Threat but not displaying any?! Don't have a hunter to test...

    Edit:
I guess after the /petattack from my voidwalker... but it could have been some different spell either... (Warlock lvl31 if that matters)
