/Interface/AddOns/nQuestLog/nQuestLogEvents.lua:383: attempt to call method 'QuestLogTitleButton_OnClick' (a nil value)

    Can you fix that please?

    Regards,
    Highend

Fixed. Sorry for the delay, but I couldn't get to it yesterday. For all of those not using the nQuestLog DetailsFrame module and using LightHeaded, the LightHeaded frame should now update properly (and no error) when clicking on a quest in the nQuestLog minion.

Sure, I'll take a look at it later today after work. Thanks for the report.

Ok, the LightHeaded integration should once again be working properly, based on my testing. As for the SinkLib error, that looks like a SinkLib problem that will have to be corrected in that library. Let me know if you find any other errors! Thanks.

please fix so that the combo works once more!!

(also note lightheaded had been upgraded on 3/25 on 2.4 release)

Thanks for the heads-up. I just updated WoW and I'll go grab the new Lightheaded and check it out. Should have a fix posted soon.

I just wanted to let you all know that I haven't had much of any time to work on nQuestLog the past few months due to work and other things. Version 2.0 is far from being done, and it will get done eventually, but I've only worked on it for two days since January 7 of this year. Once things wind down on a bunch of projects at work, I should be able to get back into it and finish version 2.0, but I have no idea when that will be. If anything breaks in the meantime, I'll certainly try to allocate some time and fix it, but please don't expect any new features for a while. Thanks.

I think this may be what QuestHelper on curse.com does.

Yeah, use QuestHelper if you want that capability. I highly recommend Tekkub's Tourguide addon as a memory- and CPU-efficient alternative that is more useful as a leveling guide. This functionality will never be available in nQuestLog (check out the memory footprint of QuestHelper to see why), as nQuestLog will not come with its own database like QuestHelper and Tourguide. That information also cannot be reliably extracted from Lightheaded or MobMap (or any other addon that I know of). Those functions are best left to other addons. :)

    1. Is it possible to get better details on party member status? Currently it only shows the info in the tooltips for quests on the minion, and it only shows a combined number when there are multiple objectives. There isn't much reason I can see to combine them when they're on a tooltip.

I will be adding this before the version 2.0 release. Others here have also requested the same thing, so I intend to make it available.

    2. Any possibility of adding a build-in announcer feature?

I've already finished the code for this in the version 2.0 release, so it will be available once I finish rewriting and adding features to the rest of the addon. Thanks for the input!

Hola, Quag. =) Found an oopsie via FrameXML.log and fixed it locally but I don't have auth to commit it (or TSVN is screwing with me again :-P).

Here's a pastey of the .diff: nQuestLog-r59668:Bindings.xml fix

    Cheers!

Thanks for the info. I had already corrected this in the rewrite, but I didn't realize that it was logging errors in FrameXML.log. I'll go ahead and upload the changes when I get home tonight, since it's so minor.

Thanks for the heads-up, I am eager to try that.

About the regex, what are the %s for ?
For me %s is a string, so I guess I may be missing the point, but I do not understand :/

The %s represents a space in Lua patterns (I called it a regex, and it is indeed very similar to one, but the correct word for it in Lua is "pattern").

I suppose you are talking about the links in Lightheaded ?
If that is what you are talking about, do you think it is doable to keep the highlighting to the Lightheaded part, and get it off the minion ?
I actually never use URLs, and only paste the name of the quests for people I group with.
Or maybe it is possible to make it so that when shift-clicking (aka linking a quest name), it does not highlight the text ?
Or even some toggle somewhere to decide whether pasting stuff will be highlighted or not :]

I'll just auto-highlight URLs only, and only if the chat frame edit box wasn't already open when the shift-click was done. That should resolve the issue without overcomplicating things.

    Quote from British »

I am not sure I understand everything you said there, but ok, we can try that ^^
One idea on the collapsing thingie, though: do you think it would be interesting to have any subzone opened by the user (by clicking on that zone on the minion) staying open even when changing (sub)zones ?
Closing it (yet again, by clicking on that zone) would put that zone back in default behavior (which is auto-expand/collapse on entering/leaving zones).

I'll change it so it only collapses when changing *zones*, not subzones, but still expands applicable subzones when entering those subzones. This should minimize the auto-collapsing annoyance while moving to different areas of a zone.

Ah, and one last thing: in the Lightheaded panel, sometimes people write coordinates with different separators than the default ones (. ; , and whatnot), and they are not recognized for clicking on it.
Should I bring that to Lightheaded author, or is it part of nQL ?

Well, neither the LightHeaded author or myself can really do anything about this. Here's an example: 25.5

This could be [25,5] if I assumed the period should have been a comma, but I can't make this assumption, as many coordinates provided have decimals in them [25.5,37.8]. It could also be a measure of distance and not a coordinate (or who knows what else)! If someone can think of a more complex regex pattern that can find some of these without producing ANY false positives, I'd be willing to change the regex I'm using. The current regex I'm using is:
    "(%d%d?%.?%d?%d?)%s*[, ]%s*(%d%d?%.?%d?%d?)"

Is there any way to get the Blizzard Quest Log to pop up when I click on a quest in the Minion instead of the nQuestLog ones?

This is probably too late of a response to your question, but all you need to do is disable the DetailsFrame module in nQuestLog. Then, when you click on a quest in the minion, it will open the Blizzard quest log.

Would there be any chance of hooking the font rendering of nQuestLog to SharedMedia? I love this addon to death, but it doesn't look like the rest of my UI! :(

This is done and working very well in my current nQuestLog development copy. It will be one of the new features available in the next release once I finish the rewrite. I've also added some new fonts and will be using a couple of those as default fonts for the minion (and these are free, non-commercial fonts like those in ClearFont2, unlike those used and distributed illegally by some addons). Thanks for the suggestion!

This is a great little quest minion! Quag, would you be open to doing something I missed from QuestFu -

Vocals! The peon "more work" and "Work complete" would be nice, or perhaps something alternate to show that an objective has been completed, or the quest is finished?

This is already in there. Check the "Notifications" module. :)

    Quote from Kyouraku »

Also, if possible to do the little colored announcement thingy upon completion of an objection in the chat log - I'm not sure if this is to everyone in the group, or just for those who are both using the addon, but its really helpful to see others' progress.

    How do those sound?

As for party progress, I have the code basically done for this, I just need to finish the rewrite I'm working on for the whole addon. I haven't had time and/or energy to work on nQuestLog for over a week now, so it may still be a few weeks before I'm ready to release the new version.

Is there a chance *not* to select the text when we shift-click, as it is quite annoying when more text need to be typed :p

Sure, I was just trying to make it easier to copy/paste URLs. Does this bother you for URLs? Or just other stuff? I'd like to leave the URL highlighting in there if it doesn't bother people.

Say I take a quest in hillsbrad, that require to kill some mobs in a cave in arathi...
When I am in hillsbrad, the hillsbrad zone is shown and thus the quest.
When I enter arathi, the hillsbrad zone logically collapses, but even if I am in that cave, the hillsbrad zone does not open.
But the quest is highlighted anyway.

I don't think quest highlighting ever was tied to expanding/collapsing zones, but I'll check. In any case, I can add this feature as an option. The problem is that Blizzard has classified the quest under a different zone and the expanding/collapsing just works based on the current zone/subzone/instance.

    Quote from British »

Another thing on the same subject: when I am in a zone (and not switching to another zone or subzone) and I want to check quests for another zone, that last zone tends to collapse by itself every x seconds (since I reopen it).
I will try to pinpoint that out, as I do not have many details to help you see where the problem is.

It's doing a collapse/expand when you change subzones. I'll change the code so it remembers the last subzone you were in and just collapses that subzone and expands the new subzone if you remain within the same zone, thus not affecting any other zones and causing annoyance. :)

I love this addon but I keep trying to go back to questsFu - it's got one feature I'd really love to see in here...

In the quest tracker, for each quest where it should the count of items collected/mobs killed/etc. It can also show the current status of group members. I know I can get this info in the tooltip with nQl but it'd be really awesome to see everyone's current status on shown quests directly in the tracker.
Maybe let us choose when group members to display (as doing all 5 of us could be ugly) or Just display mine and the most recent 2 to update?

    Example: [65] QuestName
    - Bleens 5/20 Grp1: 3/20 Grp2: 5/20

    Thanks

What about just showing overall group progress on the quest and objectives? Here's an example with 3 group members:
    3 [2] The Damned 6/8/12
      - Scavenger Paw 4/5/6
      - Duskbat Wing 2/3/6
