I've never used XPerl UF but when looking it over I noticed a feature I really wanted. A little window that tells you who in your party or raid is targeting your target. I looked around for something to do that for me and eventually settled on a dogtag thrown in a pitbull frame ([TargetingList] btw) and that really sorta sucked. There wasn't a way to have it not display my name, which was annoying and it didn't filter or color the names (ClassColor doesn't work because of how it outputs the list) and it scrolls off the screen with too many people targeting the same mob. So, I kept searching and found this mod. It's great. Works with ORA (which I use) and CT or something for MTs. Anyway, look into it. It works with tooltip mods and is pretty clean, neat and functional.

It's called Targetz and it's by Cirk.

    I endorse this non-Ace mod.

I couldn't find much talk about TargetingList. I'm wondering how I can have [TargetingList] hide my name. Anyone know? Also, I haven't experimented with TargetingList in raids where there will be tons of people targetting the same mob -- any idea how it responds to this or how to have it return to new lines if needed (if it doesn't do this by default)?

EDIT: I figured out how to hide it if only I am targetting the target:

    [TargetingList:Hide([Name#player])]

That's not bad, so, if I have to, I can stick with that. BUT, I'd really not like to see my name at all, if possible. :)

I assume things like this can be accomplished through scripts. I've seen someone talk about a script they use to change a setting in an ace mod before. If you figure out how to write the script you can just use one of those notepad addons that can save them andrun them. Then you just make a few scripts for different layouts and voila. Don't ask me how to make those though. That's just my hunch.

Ding 67. I'm just starting the Blade's Edge Mountains (Alliance) guide and everything's been going pretty smoothly. One thing that needs to be added is the Scryer stuff for Terokkar Forest. There isn't a big difference. Just a few quests that I noticed.

posted a message on Avion/PowerAuras Buff Stacking
I use a fan updated PowerAuras (from: http://www.curse.com/downloads/details/9716/) which is like Avion which is hosted here. The forum thread for Avion seems to have been abandoned by the mod author for the time being, though. Basically what PowerAuras does is put little animations of textures on your screen based on certain things like buffs and debuffs. For example, I have a talent that gives me a 10% chance on being hit by melee or ranged to put a buff on me called Blazing Speed that lasts for like 10 seconds so I put that into PowerAuras and this thing pops up when I get that buff and I even set it to put a little timer there. I love it.

One thing that it lacks is the ability to watch for buff and debuff stacks. I'd like something to pop up when my stackable debuff stacks on the target to it's max of 5 (or have it pop up different textures for different stacks -- i.e. something small for one, something bigger for two). The API (UnitDebuff() -- http://www.wowwiki.com/API_UnitDebuff) allows this, but the mod wasn't coded to look for it or allow you to do this.

I'd like someone to take the mod apart and add this functionality or create a new mod that will allow me to do this.

Search the forum. There is a thread for all of these addons. The addon that mimics Windows is pretty new from what I remember.

    Also: Thanks for the chuckles.

    Discord Art
    LightHeaded
    TomTom
    Trinity

I totally agree with you on those four. On my new UI I switched from eePanels over to Discord Art and I love it. It's soo much better, in my opinion.

oTweaks: well at least the old version I have (the new one is still being remade so has no real features yet)
    It allows you to change:
    min / max targeting ranges.
min / max scroll out range.

The second feature is my favorite... it allows you to scroll WTFO (thats way the fuck out).

I have my settings to allow the max scroll distance and while outside, especially in BGs, I like to keep it way out there but, I never thought you could go further! I must get this. WTFO FTW! I already have the new version -- where do you get the old one?

Baud Mark is my choice, although, to be honest, I haven't tried any of the ones you mentioned. :) Nice writeup.

I noticed this a couple days ago in Shat when I could see Horde builds in my CowTip tooltips. I thought it was pretty interesting and I hope they don't "fix" it. I'm not sure it makes a big difference one way of the other if Horde knows my talent point allocations. Although, I guess if they could see that I'm a certain build they may use it to their advantage to get the upper hand in a fight...

In my case, I've got 5 rows of 12 buttons (yeah, I'm a clicker, my memory can't handle keybinds)

Off topic: I don't see how any Rogue could be worth anything as a clicker. That's just my personal opinion, watching rogues in PvP, though. ;) Maybe a Warlock or Priest...

Thanks for your reply, it makes sense.
I had been using Baud Consumables but each type of item seems to take one button (Healing pots are one, food is another, etc). Like you said, a macro is a feasible option.

PT3 is something I had started looking at yesterday, along with AutoBar. PT3 is quite daunting for the lua challenged like myself. AutoBar... still working on it to see if it will do what I want.

    Here is my UI

As you can see, I only like to have very few buttons showing. At the bottom are my two (i really don't want more if possible) buttons for drinking and eating. With my macro, I can keep it at two, but can't see what is next on the list when I run out. BC is cool, in that it switches the different items visually, but I'd have to put more buttons down there to see what is going on. If there was just a way to get BC (or another addon) to have one button that would show the best item to eat out of combat, and then show the best item when in combat...

I'll try and tinker with your method though =D

    Any thoughts?

On topic: Looking at your UI, looks like something like Autobar isn't going to fit. ;) I'm alot like you, while my UI looks quite different, I don't have any buttons on my screen. With oCD and a mod that'll tell me the distance to my target I have all the functionality I ever needed from buttons on my screen without all the needless clutter. I use Trinity Bar, however, to keep my food and water and bandages on the screen if I need to see how much I have. I have it work so that they are hidden unless I mouse over them with the shift modifier held down, which is working nice for me. I also have some other buttons that pop up on shift down (e.g. Evocation, Fire Ward, Mana Shield, etc), stuff I'll need in a hurry but don't use every fight -- which may mean I forget their bindings in a hectic situation. I also have all my ports along with my hearthstone hidden which are visable on shift down and mouse over, which has been working out great for me. I'd show you a screen shot of my set up but I'm too lazy to go take one... :P

Anyway, mess around with BC and some macros and let me know how that works out for you. Maybe you could try my idea about hiding the buttons. I like it alot. My pots and bangages and food and what not is all bound to keys but I have them there just in case I want to bandage someone else or check how much I have left. I use a mouse with a bunch of buttons and use one for food/water out of combat and bandages for in and another one for health pots/stone on ctrl down and mana pots/stone otherwise. Alot of people do that, I assume. Maybe I'm wrong though.

http://git.kergoth.com/wow/TourGuide/ (as well as the base host) has been inaccessible for the past day on an internet connection that has no issues connecting to any other site.

The Firefox error message that remains constant (I don't know Kergoth like Tekkub likely does :)):

    "ERROR
The requested URL could not be retrieved

While trying to retrieve the URL:
    http://git.kergoth.com/

    The following error was encountered:

    * Unable to forward this request at this time.

This request could not be forwarded to the origin server or to any parent caches. The most likely cause for this error is that:

    * The cache administrator does not allow this cache to make direct connections to origin servers, and
    * All configured parent caches are currently unreachable.

    Your cache administrator is [email]kergoth@gmail.com[/email]"

It took me a few tries to connect and it would load very slowly and throw out errors every once in awhile when grabbing the git build the other day. Luckily Tek seems to have uploaded that version to WoWInterface.

    Try Baud Consumables. ===> http://www.curse.com/downloads/details/5827/

It hasn't been updated in 11 months but it's a very simplistic addon and the only thing that needs updating is the food and water for 65+, I believe. Someone updated that, though. Just download the LUA I attached and use that one.

BC automatically switches out food on your actionbars with the best food you have. It works with healthstones, manastones, health potions, mana potions, food, water and bandages. Then if you want to use a macro with it, put whatever you want to use on your action bar and with a macro to get frame names, find out what the name of those buttons are (i.e. for me mine are TrinityActionButton2 or TrinityActionButton12 or something like that). Then just make a macro that clicks your food and water.

    /click TrinityActionButton3
    /click TrinityActionButton4

I like mine to do more than that. Mine will eat and drink out of combat and bandage in combat.

    /click [combat] RightButton TrinityAction1; TrinityActionButton3
    /click [nocombat] TrinityActionButton4

But anyway, my point is, there are several ways to do what you want and I think this is the simplest. You could also you PT3Bar which is complicated to configure (e.g. very little configuration in game) and also autobar which is a lot more than you want, it sounds like.

Grab the latest git build, it has all the zones thru about half of Netherstorm.

I just downloaded from http://git.kergoth.com/wow/upstream/TourGuide/commit/ and didn't see any zones past Zangarmarsh.

I just played thru the spore stuff last night. I was neutral by the time I was told to get the quests in question, so I don't see the issue. Kopp's DOES make you get friendly, he just tells you to do you while you're in the spawning glen. TG sends you back... big deal it's right next to Sporeggar (literally).

And no, I don't play humans, so I didn't get to neutral thanks to the rep bonus.

Oh, you're right about Kopp. Sorry.

    ^^

Zangar's a submitted guide that I've not playtested, so keep an eye on things there. My priest is currently in Hellfire Penisula, so I've not gotten to that guide yet.

I just finished Zangar and it was pretty good. I think a few quests aren't spelled right, which made things annoying. Also, the guide does say to do repeatables till you're friendly which is annoying (Kopp's guide doesn't tell you to do that). I'm a human so I got the rep pretty quickly. Other than that, it was good. I hit 64 though and I'm back to using Kopp's guide and I hate it. I think I might start a new character to level till you have guides up to 70. I have to quest solo and it's just not fun running around trying to figure out what to do when or alt-tabbing every few steps... :(
