    "i like it"

Auto res key is Win. Back in BC I got my guild to use Smartres1, and it *greatly* speeds up recovery when everybody is instantly rezzing unique targets in the proper order. It also suits my laziness incredibly well.

I noticed also one time when I was running back after a wipe, a Smartres2 bar showed up indicating someone was rezzing me, so I just stopped and accepted the rez rather than zone in halfway through his cast.

Ever since Smartres1 stopped functioning properly I have been hoping for this replacement!:)

Smartres2: I loved Smartres, been trying Smartres2 for a week.

Unfortunately it seems to suffer from the same problem that eventually tainted Smartres1... It doesn't always work - actually it seems to never work until I manually res one player.

Tried the beta version tonight, and found a couple (related?) errors in bugsack:

Is there a way to detach "Combo Points" indicator and "Runes" indicators from the frame/health bar etc, so I can position them in the middle of my screen, or anywhere else I might like?

Seems a waste to install two separate addons when Pitbull is already displaying them in an acceptable format.

posted a message on how to open dungeon finder/LFR frames?
Went to make a simple addon to recreate /lfg command, since Blizzard decided to remove this instead of aliasing it to the new dungeon finder.

Essentially I want to alias /lfg to /df and /lfr - open both frames when i type it.

This seems to open both frames on top of eachother. Anyone know the arguments to force one to open in the "second" frame spot?

Thanks for helping me with this noobie question :)

posted a message on Tools for stripping character data from config files for Addon pack distribution?

I maintain a hefty set of addons that I distribute to a number of friends and guildmates. Many of them are Ace3 and use the profiling system.
I'm looking for a way to package up my SavedVariables folder to make it easy and quick to share my configuration as well as the addon compilation.

... so ... I'm wondering if anyone knows any tools or other useful methods for stripping out my character specific information from the config files...

For example, this appears in most of my Ace addon config files:

    ["profileKeys"] = {
    ["Mytoon - Myserver"] = "Default",

Looking for the option to disable the text wrapping/shortening feature. (or turn on Text overflow?)

I use vertical unit frames with horizontal text but it keeps replacing my text with "..." when it gets wider than the vertical frames (which is fairly often)

I found one strange way I can make it work in some places by mirroring the frame horizontally and then some of my LuaTexts are able to overflow off the frame instead of being replaced with ..., but this is impractical and inconsistent.

Sorry if this was already answered.

edit: Further testing reveals a simple LuaText displaying Mana that fits in frame gets shortened with "..." when adding a newline only

This text displays in full "22941"
    return "%s",Power(unit)

This text is shifted down one line and shows "229..." shortened
    return "|n%s",Power(unit)

check the fan update for TellMewhen. it has the ability to enter multiple debuffs in a single spot (semi-colon separated). it also has different profiles for when you change spec.

posted a message on How to debug disconnections?
Anyone know useful tools for determining which addon(s) may be causing disconnects?

I use a number of addons and recently been getting occasional disconnects.

I suspect the cause is one of the many addons I have updated, perhaps an old library, etc. What are the best tools for analyzing addon channel traffic, or other potential causes of Disconnects?

I know I can narrow down the culprit by disabling groups at a time, but the disconnects are rare enough this is not really viable - yet common enough to require action. Are there any good alternatives to this? Any 'common causes' for disconnects that might allow me to make an educated guess?

    Thanks for any insight!

posted a message on Mana bars for Grid2?
My apologies for continuing this tangent:

Like Elsia I too find that mana bars provide useful information in the most convenient location and look forward to the availability of optional plugins to enable this functionality in Grid2 when it is ready.

In Grid I have the mana bar height set to one pixel. This takes up almost no real estate but allows me to see both a detailed report on my raid's mana at a glance and analyze mana usage/regen rates over time. For me, it's worth the fps hit.

I understand and appreciate that some consider mana to be information overload and also that there are technical and performance reasons (and annoyances caused by bugs and subsequent forum mayhem) for some not to want or use them.

Alternatives like XRS and individual tooltips would not fit *my* style because I find averaging mana is often a meaningless and misleading stat, and I wouldn't want to look around to various frames all over my screen to see individual mana information. My focus as a healer is split between Grid and my toon in the viewport (gotta dodge those Void Zones etc)

This is why I am a huge fan of Grid: it is amazingly flexible so we can both customize it to our preference. It is hands down the best unit frame addon, and I use it on all of my characters to keep me far far far more informed than most players about all sorts of scenarios.

As Elsia pointed out, there may be other uses for "bar" indicators beyond health and mana. Maybe a Lifebloom tracking implementation with a timer bar indicating duration and the bar color indicating the number of stacks.

    Thanks for keeping Grid alive!!!

    feature request:

The grey, green, yellow, red difficulty filter is definitely useful as is, but it would be super neat if I could filter by skill number. Setting it to 300 or 301 to filter out classic recipes, or 375/376 to filter out BC recipes would be awesome despite the few exceptions it would miss.

There may even be a better way to filter based on expansion/continent but I think it would be pretty easy to implement a skill level filter.

I cannot seem to get the window to widen anymore.
I'm at the point now that all my categories are extending the screen to be too large vertically and need to expand it out horizontally.

I scaled down the window and reduced the padding between both the bars and buttons. Might help keep it more managable.

    Quote from jaredheath
I also cannot get the search bar to shut off. It really doesn't do me any good unless/until it can search all my toons for an item rather than just the current one....but I can't get rid of it, and this extends the vertical issue I have by taking up yet more space.

There's a search function you can bind to a key that works across all toons! (Check keybindings)
The search function on the frame is also useful in those rare times something is sorted to an unexpected place, but it's more of a Filter than a Search.

posted a message on Bartender4 - Official Topic
edit: My apologies. I didn't realize there was a new alpha before I posted this message!

I have the same problem with Bartender4 and Vehicles.

The problem arises from Unchecking the Bar Paging functionality (or whatever it's called).

When in the options for Bar 1, the third tab over, you uncheck the "Enabled" box. The "Possess Bar" checkbox then becomes Grey.

This is necessary to prevent Bartender from state changing my primary action bar (something I personally hate). Unfortunately it also prevents the Vehicle Possess Bar from switching.

In this state, in some Vehicles, the Vehicle buttons show up on the Pet Bar.
Some vehicles' buttons will not show up on the Pet Bar still.
When the final boss in Draek'thsomething dungeon turned me into a skeleton, I had absolutely no buttons. CTRL-#'s didn't work. *None* of the Vehicle Exit buttons have been visible on the Pet Bar for any vehicles in any situation.
(I think because the pet bar has less buttons shown than vehicles have, but I couldn't configure it for more)

When entering vehicles, I have to go into Bartender and switch this paging stuff on (for Possess bar). I usually forget to turn it back off when I exit the vehicle so for the next fight none of my primary actionbar keybinds are working until I get out of combat and Turn this Paging crap off. Oddly enough, I have every single option on the page turned off and set to "Don't Page" (except Possess Bar is checked), and yet it still replaces my primary action bar with empty and random buttons.

On a side note, when I was stuck in the DK frost worm quest, I couldn't get out of the vehicle using CTRL-# keys, and enabling/disabling the paging stuff didn't work either. I checked keybinds and discovered that NUMPAD 5 is default Exit Vehicle key. VERY HANDY since the bartender buttons don't work! You can also bind other vehicle actions specifically. Unfortunately these also didn't work when the boss turned me into a skeleton.

Hopefully this helps illuminate the issue.

Automaton gossip turns in "Single Mark of Sargeras" before "More Marks of Sargeras" (10 at a time)

Not sure if this is fixable, I've been holding down shift and manually clicking to turn these in.

    Profiles are broken.

The addon does not default to the default profile.

It also is creating excess profiles every time I log in a different character.
