I was imagining the bottom-left corner being used either for counting lifebloom stacks or watching all three hots a druid can cast.

    I think that'd be terrific

I just saw this on the elitistjerks forums and whao is it a great idea. Any chance it could get incorporated into Quartz proper?

I've been thinking for a while (since I started click casting in WOW about 2.5 years ago!) that I might want to have a slightly more visible way of seeing the GCD. This is especially so when I'm click casting for raid healing and keeping my eyes on the Grid frame. I don't like having to glance elsewhere to try to time my next click. (I do a lot of instant-casts as a resto druid.)

I really like Quartz and did not want to have to duplicate its functions, so I hacked it to replace the default pointer with a skeletal pointer while I'm in GCD. It's a really easy change and thought others might be interested in seeing it.

First, get the icon for the skeletal hand from here. Download Warcraft3 Cursors for WoW Undead | World of Warcraft @ Curse.com
Create a subfolder in your Quartz folder called /Pointer/ and put the Point.blp file in there.

Next, make the following edits to /Quartz/GCD/GCD.lua:

    local function OnUpdate()
    	gcdspark:ClearAllPoints()
local perc = (GetTime() - starttime) / duration
    	if perc > 1 then

    -- GCDPointer
    		SetCursor(nil)
    -- GCDPointer end

    		return gcdbar:Hide()
    	else
    		if db.profile.deplete then
    			gcdspark:SetPoint('CENTER', gcdbar, 'LEFT', gcdbar_width * (1-perc), 0)
    		else
    			gcdspark:SetPoint('CENTER', gcdbar, 'LEFT', gcdbar_width * perc, 0)
    		end
    	end

    -- GCDPointer
    	if perc > 0.01 then
    		SetCursor("Interface\\AddOns\\Quartz\\GCD\\Pointer\\Point.blp")
    	else
    		SetCursor(nil)
    	end
    -- GCDPointer end

When entering/leaving combat in a battleground, my game is freezing for 2-3 seconds. I'm only using Grid, not any grid addons. Anyone else having this issue?

This is happening to me as well...and yeah only in BGs.

posted a message on [Suggestion] LibDogTag-3.0 talent tag
    Quote from JaedxRapture »

I assume you're busy right now, but when you get the chance, would be it possible to have a [ShortTalentSpec] tag implemented? It would basically abbreviate all the current specs ("Elemental" becomes "Ele", "Restoration" becomes "Restro", "Feral Combat" becomes "Feral", etc), without the complex tag workarounds, or modifying the files (which appears to be tricky business now that DogTag uses LibTalentQuery-1.0).

Pet peeve alert! If "Restoration" becomes "Restro" instead of "Resto" I will cry. Otherwise great idea :D

This is my setup which looks a lot like tinytip:

I fixed it using a lot of kevinc's dogtags.

    just copy paste these lines:
    line 1:
    [(if IsPlayer and IsFriend then Name:ClassColor else (if IsPlayer then Name:ClassColor else Name:HostileColor))] [(if Target(unit="mouseovertarget") then " :: ")] [(if IsPlayer(unit="mouseovertarget") then (if Target:NameRealm(unit="mouseovertarget") = NameRealm(unit="player") then "<<YOU>>":White else Target:Name:ClassColor(unit="mouseovertarget")) else Target:Name:HostileColor(unit="mouseovertarget"))]

    line 2:
[(if Status then StatusColor else [if CanAttack then DifficultyColor]) (if Classification:Contains("Boss") then "Level 73" else Level:Prepend("Lvl ")) Classification:Prepend(" ") (if ~Status then Color("FEF2C5")) SmartRace:Hide("not specified", "Unknown"):Prepend(" ") (if SmartRace:Contains("not specified") then "Creature":Prepend(" ")) (if IsPlayer then Class:Prepend(" "):ClassColor)]

    line 3:
[if Guild = Guild(unit="player") then Guild:Angle:Green else (if IsPlayer then Guild:Angle:Green else Guild:Green)]

    line 4:
    [TalentTree:Hide("None"):ClassColor]

    line 5:
    [Zone:Hide("None")]

if you want specs too as well as the tree, just change line 4 to:
    [TalentSpec:Hide("None")][TalentTree:Hide("None"):ClassColor]

    Anyway enjoy.

    edit: fixed the Zone one.

Thanks so much! copying this over to my guild boards for sharing now :D

posted a message on Help me fix these DogTag lines please!
I used a TinyTip themed cowtip that I didn't create, but had simply copied and pasted. Is there anyway someone could post an updated version using the new tags or point me to a place where someone has already asked and answered this? I can see bits and pieces of these tags in this thread I think, but I admit I don't have the head to put them together.

    This is what I had:

    Line 1:
    [IsPlayer ? [CanAttack ? Name:HostileColor ! Name:ClassColor] ! [IsPet ? [Status ? Name:StatusColor ! [CanAttack ? Name:HostileColor ! Name] ] ! [Status ? Name:StatusColor ! Name:HostileColor] ] ][Realm:Prepend(-)] [Target ? Text(:)] [IsPlayer#mouseovertarget ? [IsUnit#player(MouseOverTarget) ? Text(YOU):Bracket:Fuchsia ! Target:ClassColor#mouseovertarget] ! Target:HostileColor#mouseovertarget]

    Line 2:
    [Guild?Text([Guild:IsEqual([Guild#player])?Color(0076EC)!Green][Guild])]

    Line 3:
    [Status ? StatusColor ! [CanAttack ? DifficultyColor] ][Classification:Contains(Boss) ? Text(Level 73) ! Level:Prepend(Level )] [Classification] [~Status ? Color(FEF2C5)][SmartRace:Hide(Not specified):Hide(Unknown)][SmartRace:Contains(Not specified) ? Text(Creature)] [TalentSpec ? TalentTree:Hide(None):ClassColor] [~Status ? ClassColor][PlayerClass]

    Line 4:
    [~IsPlayerOrPet ? Faction:Hide(Alliance):Hide(Horde):HostileColor]

    Line 5:
    [IsPlayer ? PvP:Red] [~IsPlayer ? Status:StatusColor ! Status] [AFKDND:Color(FEF2C5)]

Feature request: can we have an option to disable WH in some situations?
Say, I stay in Shattrath City with tons of opponent players but since it's a pacified zone I dont need to see these alerts.
Or, in PvE server in the wild I only need to worry about NPCs(mobs) and can ignore opponent players.

I'd like to request this as well. I'm pretty sure something like this is how witchhunt used to behave? I'm fairly certain when standing around in shattrath I didn't used to get spammed with soandso gains flight form and soandso casts transmute etc.

    posted a message on Historian
Another embarrassing noob problem... I recently set all of my characters to use their own fubar profiles. When I did so a lot of fubar-using addons did some odd things, like moving to the minimap to appear as buttons there or hiding completely. I was able to fix most of the issues, except for Historian! It won't display on my minimap or my fubar and I can't seem to find any way to make it do so. Its as though I have 'Hide Plugin' checked off for it, but I have no idea how that happened nor how to get it back. I can see Historian in Rock config but I see no options for making it display there and /historian gives me some options, but I see nothing obvious there either. Any idea what I can do to make it reappear? :X

Been a while since I tried zomgbuffs so I thought I'd give it a go again today. Unfortunately it is still overwriting my mousewheel up and mousewheel down keybinds with camera zoom in/out with mousewheel buffing off. After I change my bindings back to what they should be they are set to camera zoom in/out again after a reload.

For the moment, the only functionality you'd miss by turning off the icon is the popup raid list, which works on a mouseover.

I am also unable to see why I couldn't buff my groupmate yes? per this statement:
If you think it should be buffing and it's not, mouseover the floating icon. It should tell you why it's not doing anything.
...unless I also get this information from mousing over the fubar icon.

This is unavoidable because of the secure nature of the icon and the raid popup.

    Is this a click-to-buff list I guess?

The on screen text notice that someone needs a buff should be close enough to what you're asking for anyway I think?

That is OK though not really what I'm looking for and I would prefer to turn it off.

As for making a list of buffs that need doing, that would just create extra work for the mod to do. You can only buff one thing at a time, so it just finds the first thing that can be done and lets you know. I can't think of any reason to scan the whole raid and tell you everything that needs doing.

I thought there was a list of needed buffs when you moused over the floating icon? Admittedly I don't know since I turned mine off :X I guess this rules out just using the fubar tooltip to see a buff list.

I made the icon look as much like an action button as I could, so that it could be placed next to already present action bars without making it look too out of place.

I did notice that, but this solution doesn't work for me.

I don't want to immediately rule this addon out. I guess I'm just averse to change, I'm so used to CorkFu. I will turn it off for now and try again in a few days, fiddle with some settings and try some different stuff. I do appreciate you taking the time to address my concerns and questions and it looks like this addon is off to a great start.

[edit] I guess what I'm trying to say is that I obviously wanted a glorified corkfu, and I thought this mod was it, but it isn't! Its its own style of buffing mod. So I'll try to stop suggesting it be more like corkfu and if I want to use it, I'll just get used to how it is :D
