    It seems to me that the version check and update operations are essentially modal -- you don't want the user to do stuff like delete an addon that WUU is trying to update or version check, for example. I think it would be an improvement to the UI to show the overall progress in a modal dialog box which would allow the user to cancel the current operation.

    On a number of occasions I have started a version check, switched away to check a web page or email and then come back to the WUU window and tried to do something like select updated addons to update them, only to realize that it's still doing the version check and I hadn't noticed because the only indication is an occasional update to the text in the status bar all the way down at the bottom of the window.

    Similarly for the update operation, although that does have a slightly more noticeable progress indicator, it's still at the bottom of the window and not modal.

    The sorting code for the wx ListCtrl class depends on a unique 32bit ID for each item in the list - the easiest way to achieve this (on a 32bit OS) is to just hash(addon_name), however on 64-bit OSes it returns a 64 bit integer, and due to some quirkiness in the way Python works, masking it against 0xFFFFFFFF is a no-go.

    The easiest way to fix this, I guess, is to create some simpler algorithm that always gives a 32-bit integer.

    An alternative would be to keep a separately indexed list of all the items in the wxListCtrl and then use the index into that list as the "itemData" for each item. Then it's a simple matter of using the item1 and item2 parameters passed to your sort function as indices into this list to find the items and do the sort order comparisons. It does mean though that you would have to re-assign itemData values to every item in the list whenever an item was removed from the list.

    BTW, it appears that masking with 0xFFFFFFFF produces a 64-bit integer, so the error is probably because the wx function requires a 32-bit integer. And if you use the int() function on a 64-bit integer value which can fit into a 32-bit integer, it returns the 32-bit integer. For example:

    >>> 1 & 0xFFFFFFFF
    1L
    >>> int(1 & 0xFFFFFFFF)
    1
    >>>

    It made it clear that I can't use the same hashing method on 64-bit as on 32-bit :( I'll need to think up something smart then...

    What do you need a hash for? Would an md5sum or sha1 hash work? There should be modules for those in the stock Python libraries.

    I use the Emblem font and the change was quite noticable. The window looked very "crowded". I reduced the bar height and that reduced the font size to something that looked a bit more reasonable so I'm happy now.

    The Omen frame height/width/size is stored in layout-cache.txt in your character specific folder in your server specific folder. (WTF\Account\(account)\(server)\(char)\layout-cache.txt) This file also contains the positions of most of your other draggable frames.

    I personally dislike this because it means that if I disable Omen (for whatever reason) and then re-enable it, the position is lost because WoW purges non-existent windows from the layout-cache.txt.

    Omen already has profile support, it should just store the window position and size in there.

    For the past few releases, why do I only have 2 option sin the pulldown menu for Statusbar Style of "Blizzard and Bantobar" only? Any way to fix this, my bars are all the wrong styles.

    Install the "SharedMedia" addon.

    Just after repositioning bar after it had been docked (inadvertently while dragging around) to the chat window.

    [2008/04/26 11:36:48-4215-x2]: AutoBar-2.04.01.46 beta.71514\AutoBarClassBar.lua:611: attempt to index global 'barPositionDBList' (a nil value)

    Error re-occurs after every reload/login now, I'll have to zap the saved variables.

    Could you add an option to completely disable all docking? My UI is completely non-standard and when dragging a bar around it docks to seemingly invisible things and it's rather annoying trying to get it positioned correctly.

    Removing a button from a bar only works until the next reload/login when the button reappars at the end of the bar. This happened for the Hearth, Trinket 1 & 2, Mount, Potion Cooldown: Health, Stone Cooldown: Rejuvenation, Track buttons.

    The Crafting button includes a popup button for Weaponsmithing, which is a specialization of Blacksmithing and not a separate craft.

    What relationship does disabling a bar have to hiding a bar (left-click in move-the-bars mode)?
