I would like to make a small feature request. It would be great to have the option of setting font sizes statically, as opposed to dynamically having them set based on bar height.

Currently, as you increase the height of the bars the font size increases, which makes having think bars pretty unpleasing aesthetically. I'd like to be able to define that fonts stay at 10pt regardless of the height of which the bars are set.

    Thanks!

I've deleted the saved variables and cannot get the calendar icon to show no matter what I do. Any thoughts on what it could be?

If you actually want to change the keywords to something different, but keep a double-level interest option, well, umm..... hmm. Maybe I can add that in my next release.

That's exactly what I am looking for -- we use "ten" and "half" bids to indicate interest level.

Also, a few more suggestions for you. It would be nice not to require linking the item if the officer/loot master in question was only taking bids on one item. In other words, a loot master would open bidding on a specific item. If he's only taking bids on that one item, then any tell of "ten" or "half" would register a bid for that item. Ideally the response to the user would be "You have placed a half bid on [Item Foo]".

Or, if the master looter has bidding open for multiple items, a bid of "ten" would instruct the user to specify the item. "Multiple items are available for bid. Please specify the item in your bid via half/ten [Item Foo]".

I'm glad someone is taking up the effort to write and maintain a generic assignment like this, there is a definite need. One suggestion I would like to make is to look at FuriousTask, which is what I've been using for a while. It's not being maintained but there's a fair amount of ground work laid there which could potentially be used here. I was actually hoping someone would pick up the project, but having a new project with the same goals is great too.

As it stands it looks like AssignAssist does not have the functionality to support multiple raid bosses. We tend to use the same set of assignments every week for each individual encounter, changing only to account for any roster differences. Each configuration is saved with a name of our choosing, i.e. "Archimonde". This saves a massive amount of time, as each encounter is essentially built once and then modified from that point forward. Then, the saved encounters are updated/shared with all others running the mod in "slave" mode.

I definitely like the direction you're going with the GUI. Hopefully the features we rely on with FuriousTask will be available in AA soon so we can switch. :)

Any way to have HeadCount prompt for item cost during distribution, like CT_RaidTracker does? For those unfamiliar with the functionality, CTRT allows for defining a threshold (i.e. rare, epic, etc) to prompt for cost, during which it will pop up a box with an input field for it. It's really quite handy.

Is it possible to change the bidding keywords to something other than "primary" and "secondary"? If not it would be great if that were configurable.

Some raid frames optionally display raid icons as well if the player got assigned an icon. This visually helps healers locate which raid frame the barraged player is quickly. Of course, one can also argue that the affected player would get the "barraged" debuff and that would also show up if the raid frames are configured properly. But depending on how debuff highlighting is setup, it may be less than optimal, since it isn't a standard dispellable debuff (Magic, Poison or Curse).

This is exactly the reason I'd like to see it assign an icon.

    Suggestion for the Illidan module.

It would be extremely useful to put a raid icon on the Dark Barrage target in phase 2, so that the healers can target them more quickly.

Thinking about it more, even if a UI maintainer managed to put together a script to import all the addon settings, you'd still need to place files in the WTF folders for the chat and window layouts. For example, my UI places/sizes the chat and combat windows rather specifically. As far as I know or have seen, there's no way to manage this placement with an addon, it relies on the layout cache.

I never understood why compilations need a default profile.

Just write your own simple Lua script to import your configuration on first Launch after install, that way you dont even need to worry about placing the config files in the right directory inside the WTF dir.

The majority of compilation maintainers do not have working knowledge of Lua. The decision can certainly be made that they should, but I would disagree. I myself have some development background (no Lua specifically) and could probably put something together, but should people who prefer to focus on providing a specific look-and-feel for a group of addons also know how to code?

Either way, assuming a UI maintainer was a coder and had the desire to write an importer, I don't think it is as quick or simple as you are suggesting. And it certainly does not void the profile issue, because there would still have to be logic to rename hash structures (I know Lua calls them something else) to match the toon's name and server.

So, I'll pose this question. Is the desire really to have every UI out there write a custom importer, in different way for each one, potentially invalidating all the effort you guys have put into standardization? I would understand if there was an existing tool robust enough to handle what you describe for all addons which could conceivably be packaged, but that does not exist today.

As the maintainer of an addon compilation, I can say that not being able to rely on a default profile is going to be problematic. Anti was extremely responsive and fixed Omen shortly after describing the problem, but having to track down addon developers one by one to implement the necessary change will be time consuming.

Right now only a few addons I am packaging use Ace3: Omen, kgpanels and SCT. Omen is fixed, kgpanels passes "Default" and SCT passes only 2 arguments. I've had to patch SCT myself to get it to work in the UI bundle, which I absolutely hate to do because I'd really like for users to be able to use the WAU after initial install if they choose to do so.

Short of making a change to the standard, more and more addons are going to become an issue requiring users to explicitly load profiles for each and every addon after installing a UI. Or really, for each toon on their account. I am not sure I follow why the decision was made not to have defaults. In most cases users want the same configuration for their addons on all their toons and override as necessary.

    posted a message on Omen2
I am having some issues managing profiles with Omen. From looking through the configuration LUA files, I notice all per-character configuration is stored globally. The issue is not so much that as it is that it is stored by "Character - Server". Thus, I cannot define a "Default" profile which will apply to all toons.

The reason this matters is because I am nearly done packaging a UI compilation and can find no way to apply Omen settings. I am obviously providing a full WTF folder, but with configuration entries being stored by "Character - Server", the only way to get pre-defined settings to apply is to copy a profile, then reload the UI, which I do not want to require my UI users to do. They should be able to use the WTF I provide (renaming a few directories of course) and use a set of Omen defaults.

The way this seems to be implemented with most other Ace/Rock mods is that all settings apply to a "Default" profile, by default. By doing so, all characters on the same account share the same settings unless specifically overridden for a given character. I hope that makes sense. If I'm misusing profiles, help understanding the implementation would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for all the great work on the mod.

Another vote for ForteWarlock. It's even better now since it was refactored to be modular, use what you need.

If nothing else it has *the best* set of dot/debuff timers out there.
