posted a message on [Idea] selective hearing/spam ignore
The problem with SpamSentry is that after using it for 5 months, it's gotten a bit on the annoying side to receive 14 gold spams a day, I'm rather tired of reporting something that Blizzard has every capability to put an end to.

The solution to this problem is as plain as the nose on their faces and yet they refuse to allow the players the freedom of choice NOT to accept tells, NOT to be found in the /who searches and NOT to be spammed. Instead they want to throw us very shoddy solutions, such as we are getting in 2.1, that do NOT eliminate the problem, but just shade it a bit so we'll shut up for about 1 week until the spammers find a way around it.

Spam Sentry doesn't fix the problem, it hides it. It's a great addon, but even it's getting a bit annoying. And it also doesn't fix the fact that Blizzard never did add an Anon feature to the interface options, which they should have back at release.

All that being said, I don't want to block ALL tells like the "Shut Up" addon does, however, that's the one I've started using. Instead, I would also really like to have an addon that blocks all tells based on level. User defined level.

EDIT: Quite honestly, I would be perfectly happy if Blizzard revamped the entire /who search anyway, there is absolutely no good reason that I can think of that any lvl 1 character should be able to find a lvl 70 in a /who search in the first place. Those searches should be based on level as well and you should only be able to find people within your level range, say a lvl 1 can only find lvl 1-5, a lvl 40 can find 35-45, etc.

Well, since nixing BugSack/Grabber, I get no more errors. And I still use a couple Ace2 mods that use Ace Comm. I've moved to Improved Error Frame now and don't have a problem.

One of these two mods, or both in combination absolutely DO cause taint or some sort. They threw up approx. 7500 errors in two days time for everything from Warmup to Nurfed Unitframes. They are picking up things that Blizzard's error warning doesn't, which to me, means it's Bugsack/Grabber. I tried running chronometer and Bugsack/grabber ONLY, and got 17 errors for the multibarleft and the shapeshiftbar(?!?!?!). Neither addon has jack to do with either of those things in game. So, IMO, the errors are being caused by those two bug mods. I get no more errors without them running.

    Cheers.

Why don't I leave now? I thought I explained that. I can again, because I use a couple addons right now that are really nice to have, though when and if I ever do find a non Ace'd replacment, I might test that out. I'm not downing the authors here at all, I think what you guys have done is great, I just am a bit on the bitter side about how bloated all the addons are getting now. And Tekkub was right, btw, it is better for me to run the very few Ace'd addons on their embeds. Trial and error, ya know. And now that I don't run 25+ Ace addons(when the standalones had been removed) my load times are less by half. I'd like to see a back to the basics sort of thing on the addons. So please don't flame me because I've chosen to move away from this, and that I had the guts to come here and say so, and explain why, even. Someone's gotta do it.

    Cheers.

The problem was that I used Winzip to unzip it. Using 7-Zip allowed the empty folders to be extracted as well as the .toc etc. So it is working now, although, I'm not sure how much longer I'll stick with the Ace stuff. The Ace addons I run now are just crutches until I find something else that does the same thing without all the pre-reqs. There are just too many function libraries now to even justify Ace, IMO anyway. The loading times were great in the beginning, but now I've got 25 lib folders plus Ace2 in my addon directory. And it really does make a difference. Once I find replacements for the 3 I run, i'll probably move away from Ace'd stuff.

    Cheers!

    Oh, and Merry Christmas everyone!:P

I did. As of the yesterday, that addon did not work at all. It doesn't pull any libs folders automatically and I do use WoWAceUpdater. When I installed that, it didn't have any empty folders, did not pull any folders automatically and would not even load before most of the addons I run and showed up next to the bottom of the addon list.

IMO, most of the Ace addons have gone from minimalistic and fast running, to atrocious monstrosities that require way too many other things, much more than their non Ace predecessors. I loved them when they first started but the entire situation is starting to wear thin. FuBar is so chock full of bugs on a daily basis that I've totally given up running it. The Libs folders was just really the icing on an already waning tolerance level. I run about 3 Ace2 addons now, compared to the 20 or 25 I ran previously, and since doing so I've seen less bugs, less lag, and less reason for me to put my fist through my monitor.

Why am I even taking the time to write this post then? I have no idea, maybe because I want the Ace people to know that, it's getting a bit out of hand these days.

    Cheers.

I'm not sure where the updated !!!Libs folders are but something really need to be done about this situation. Since the removal of the library collections my load times are astronomical and really approaching the realm of annoying. I'm wondering what prompted the decision to remove the collection in the first place because it was working for me just fine.

posted a message on Ace and the upcoming patch
Oh, I know tht there is tons of work being done for TBC mods, my question is for the 2.0.1 patch that will go live in a few weeks. Ive tested a few TBC mods on PTR and they have major bugs.

My concern really isn't TBC because it's not out yet, my immediate one is the patch on PTR.

One question? Are we going to have to wait for PTR to release to live and then have a mad dash to fix addons? Or is there testing being done for 2.0.1 versions?

    Ok two questions....

I have a question about the Advanced mode of this addon.

Will it be similar to Flexbar in anyway?

If the answer to this is yes, I would like to see this mode not as complicated as Flexbar. IMO, Flexbar is so complicated that you'd need to be a physics or engineering major to use it. '

If the answer is no, disreguard the statement above.:)

    posted a message on Denial
For some reason I can not get the actual search feature to work so I could not search for a thread reguarding this addon.

I have a question reguarding the addon Denial. Will this addon continue to be updated for TBC? If not I would like to make a public plea for it to be made compatible with TBC! This addon is invaluable for me and I have used it since I first discovered it. I have a fairly young child who plays the game and I use this addon to make sure he doesn't get random invites, duel requests, guild invitations, and the like.(I'm paranoid and his chat interface is very benign, he can't communicate with anyone really.)But not only for him, but for me, I can't stand duel invites(Goldshire is a cesspool)and unprovoked guild invitations etc.

I beg the Ace addon Gods to please keep my beloved Denial alive for TBC!

    Thank you!

Auralei, check bar 10. Bar 1 is your caster bar, bar 10 will switch depending on form. Put bar 10 on top of bar 1 for the same effect as the default Blizzard bars.

I don't see a bar 10 option, just bar 1-5 and bonusbar, but the bonus bar won't show.

NVM, I'm being a huge Noob.:) Found it. Thanks a ton!

Actually, now that I follow that advice, there is another whole issue, the bonus bar disappears upon shifting into the forms and doesn't reappear unless I retoggle it.

I love this addon so far, but I have a HUGE problem with it. I'm a Druid, and when I shift forms, my action bars do not page to the bars with my abilities for that form, it stays on the caster bar. Any advice? Is this working as intended?
