    Hey all, I have been using pallypower for pretty much my whole tanking career and I absolutely love it.

    The problem though is when I came back just today from a 4 month break I reinstalled a bunch of addons and got a new UI up and running including pallypower, but for some reason pally power is bugged for me, the config options button will not do anything so i cant change the style of the addon.

    If this is a known problem and theres an easy fix out there, I have probably missed it many many times.

    Thanks

    try "/pp configscale 0.5", then "/pp config", then click Options. You can't see the options menu because it is attached to the assignment screen side.

    Why don't you want to use the Auto-Hide Class Buttons? It hides class buttons leaving only one button visible and rolls out class buttons when you mouse over the auto-button. PallyPower buttons are using protected frames. You can't just plug in "onmouseover" handling and expect it to work in and out of combat.

    No one in my comms spam list shows "RaidBuffStatus" in use as was suggested may be a cause for triggering more spam from it...

    It does not show 'RaidBuffStatus' because it mimics PallyPower by sending 'REQ' messages in PLPWR channel and every PallyPower client answers to them.
    This issue is more or less resolved in the latest alpha version of RBS.

    Also I've found instances with ZomgBuffs producing dozens 'REQ' messages every second. Its author is nowhere to be seen, so I don't know when we may expect a fix.

    Without these two mods interferring with PallyPower it does not produce any significant comm traffic.

    I am having a tiff with my pally power. When I am grouped with a buddy of mine, hes a shamy, I start to auto buff by clicking the button to buff group members, but when I get to him, his little icon turns blue and will not buff. I have to target him and then click on the buff from my tool bar, and EVEN then, it will not give him the right buff. I have removed and reinstalled it and updated it and still its not working. This is been going on for almost 3 weeks now.
    Anyone here got any ideas?

    Blue button means that the person has a custom buff assignment that differs from the class buff assignment.
    Example: Wisdom on Shamans, 10 minute Might on Shaman_1.

    On your assignment screen you should see your buddy's name with a custom buff icon. And the player button buff icon also shows a custom buff.

    I've found a case of ZOMGbuffs doing unneccessary spam of PP requests:

    [20:45:31] Fearnoevill has left the raid group. <-- paladin left the raid
    [20:45:31] ZOMGBlessingsPP: Announce REQ <-- added debug to ZOMGBuffs_BlessingsPP.lua
    [20:45:31] ZOMGBlessingsPP: Announce REQ
    [20:45:31] ZOMGBlessingsPP: Announce REQ
    [20:45:31] ZOMGBlessingsPP: Announce REQ
    [20:45:32] PallyPower: Noobies REQ <-- debugg in PallyPower on received message
    [20:45:32] PallyPower: Noobies REQ
    [20:45:32] PallyPower: Noobies REQ
    [20:45:32] PallyPower: Noobies REQ
    [20:45:38] Fearnoevill has joined the raid group. <-- paladin rejoins the raid
    [20:45:38] ZOMGBlessingsManager: OnRosterUpdate REQ
    [20:45:38] ZOMGBlessingsPP: Announce REQ
    [20:45:38] ZOMGBlessingsPP: Announce REQ
    [20:45:38] ZOMGBlessingsPP: Announce REQ
    [20:45:38] ZOMGBlessingsPP: Announce REQ
    [20:45:38] PallyPower: Noobies REQ
    [20:45:38] PallyPower: Noobies REQ
    [20:45:38] PallyPower: Noobies REQ
    [20:45:38] PallyPower: Noobies REQ
    [20:45:38] PallyPower: Noobies REQ

    So when a paladin leaves the raid, ZOMG send one REQ message for every paladin remainig in the raid instead of doing it just once. When a paladin joins the raid, ZOMG sends one request for new paladin and one request for every paladin in the raid already.
    You don't really need to do the second at all, since the joined PP client send its info on join. And you only need to send on request when a paladin leaves the raid.

    I'd love it if I could be running PallyPower myself and have a section where I request/prioritize buffs from paladins, so I could list out:

    Kings
    Wisdom
    Sanctuary
    (Never)Might

    in that order, so that the addon itself can communicate between me and other players using PP, and thus they know exactly what I need and prefer, rather than having to guess.

    You gonna laugh, but that's the exact buff priorities for priest class used by Auto-Assign feature. Not many people use it, unfortunately.

    Zomgbuffs pallypower traffic is also insane currently, and Zeksie not online very often.
    So it might not be the "real "Pallypower thats causing it.

    ZomgBuffs responds to REQ messages send every 15+ seconds, so it is less susceptible tp RBS spam and it does not look like it sends much of requests by itself.

    Curious... can the comms traffic be reduced? maybe a user defined setting with a default to whatever the update frequency is currently? These are merely buffs not like your life depends on them...
    Running a comms monitor I notice Pally Power is producing about as much comms traffic as DBM and this was only in a 5 man party (me being the single pally) :confused:

    PallyPower should not send any significant amount of messages, maybe 25 bytes every 2 minutes and a bit more when it does active synching.

    But it appears that RaidBuffStatus does not interact with PallyPower correctly and spams 'REQ' message every 10 seconds non-stop, resulting insane amount of spam sent by all PallyPower clients.

    To fix that, open Core.lua in RBS folder, find
    SendAddonMessage("PLPWR", "REQ", "RAID")

    and comment out this line.

    Disabling PP integration in RBS does not work by some reason, it still keeps sending requests.

    OK, so I found the scripts you told some other people, but I still have some issues with this...
    It doesn't seem to contain the Aura or Seal assignments.
    Basically, I would like to see a way to quickly go from Dev Aura, Seal of Veng, and Bless Sanc assigned in PP to Conc Aura, Seal of Wis, full Kings assignments. Did I miss something?

    Presets can only save and load greater blessings assignments.
    Auras and Seals are actually the interface settings, so they can changed by using different profiles. I think I explained that earlier.

    Step 1:

    Install the mod and configure it the way you like. Create a second profile - Options, Profile, Other - enter new name and press enter. Then select Options, Profile, Copy From and select Default. Now you got 2 equal profiles. Now you can configure seals and rf buff in each differently. To switch profiles use 2 macros:

    Macro1:
    /pp profile choose Default
    /script PallyPower:UpdateLayout()

    Macro2:
    /pp profile choose Custom
    /script PallyPower:UpdateLayout()

    Step 2, the preset functionality:

    /script PallyPower:SavePreset("name1");

    saves the current greater blessings assignments. Assign might/wis to yourself and save the preset as "M/W". Assign kings to yourself and save the preset as "Kings"

    /script PallyPower:LoadPreset("name1");
    loads previously saved preset

    Make 2 macros to load "M/W" and "Kings" when you need them.

    Use 1st or 2nd macro whenever you change specs.

    So in other words, on the alliance pally it works fine, on horde one, not at all. I have tried everything i can think of to get it to work and asked loads of peeps but nobody have got a clue whats wrong. Hopefully someone here can gimme a hand solving this prob. Cheers

    You need to figure out how to control addons on different character.

    Configure addons for ALL:
    white check mark means the addon enabled for one char and disabled for another.

    Change 'Configure Addons for' character1. Enable PallyPower.
    Change 'Configure Addons for' character2. Enable PallyPower.
    Change 'Configure Addons for' All and leave it alone.

    the "o" being the anchor. Lol i know it's not the best way to explain it, but it's the first thing that came up to my mind.

    Options -> Buff Buttons -> Class Buttons -> (1, 3, 7, 9)

    that's changes the position of the anchor for class buttons

    The script you gave me prints "1 pvp" in ioc sorry i forgot to mention that.What happens right after leaving ioc in yaiap is shown above. Inside ioc yaiap is silent.

    Does the following command
    /script SendAddonMessage("QQQ", "test", "PARTY", "yourname");

    cause the same "You are not in the party" message when you're outside of BG? If it does, then it is an issue with German WoW client.

    first one, when yaiap prints its debugstring in dalaran in front of the bgportals: (maybe a bit too agressive here)
    i entered that as fast as possible, but im trying to reduce the time between a bit more.

    But what does it print when you are in IoC?

    In any case, edit PallyPower.lua
    find
    SendAddonMessage(PallyPower.commPrefix, msg, type, self.player)

    and add the following line before:
    self:Debug(type, msg)

    load the game and enable debugging from the PallyPower's option menu.
    You'll be able to see what messages PallyPower sends when it leaves BG.
    For me there's nothing wrong:
    [10:21:27] You have left the raid group.
    [10:21:27] (DEBUG) PallyPower:[10:21:27.323] CHAT_MSG_SYSTEM event
    [10:21:27] Dungeon Difficulty set to 5 Player (Heroic).
    [10:21:27] (DEBUG) PallyPower:[10:21:27.510] Send self -- begin
    [10:21:27] (DEBUG) PallyPower:[10:21:27.525] Sending message
    [10:21:27] (DEBUG) PallyPower:[10:21:27.525] PARTY SELF 50501010@33334333333
    [10:21:27] (DEBUG) PallyPower:[10:21:27.525] Sending message
    [10:21:27] (DEBUG) PallyPower:[10:21:27.525] PARTY ASELF a3701050505010@1
    [10:21:27] (DEBUG) PallyPower:[10:21:27.525] Sending message
    [10:21:27] (DEBUG) PallyPower:[10:21:27.525] PARTY SYMCOUNT 79
    [10:21:27] (DEBUG) PallyPower:[10:21:27.525] Sending message
    [10:21:27] (DEBUG) PallyPower:[10:21:27.525] PARTY FREEASSIGN YES
    [10:21:27] (DEBUG) PallyPower:[10:21:27.525] Send self -- end

    As you can see, no 'You are not in the group' spam here again.
