I actually prefer it that way, but I didn't want to ask and act like I didn't appreciate the feature. :)

And yeah, your choices are either full alpha or not shown right now. Ofc, you could always just have them off by default if the alpha-fade is too much trouble.

The alpha fade is no trouble at all. I just implemented them without thinking about it :). I'll get this added.

    @Parnic

Would it be possible to have the various icon toggles as a separate panel in the setup "icons". I can't recall how IceHud's setup works now (I tend to use all huds to see which one is getting closest to my ideal one), but MetaHUD's setup is really user friendly. On the first pane you select all the features you want and then get subsequent panes for the ones you set to "on" (if there are any further settings needed").

Thanks for the feedback. I'll take a look at MetaHUD's options and see what we can do about it. The most confusing part of IceHUD's current setup is that some of the config (raid icon above the target health bar, player icons) are technically part of certain modules that don't immediately make sense to the user. For example, even though the icons are anchored to the player health bar, it's not immediately obvious that their setup is contained in the PlayerHealth module. I understand how that's confusing to some people, but it's going to be difficult to work around because of how things are programmed. I may just make a "here's where the options are" description on the front page of the config panel or something.

What features are you thinking of for your ideal HUD mod that don't exist at the moment or only exist in certain mods?

edit: added more info about icehud's current config setup

Already getting complaints from people on curse about not knowing how to turn off certain options such as the party leader/player status/etc. icons, the click-targeting, and so on, even though the options exist to turn them off. Can anyone think of a good way to inform people where those icons are? Maybe some descriptive text when you open the the /icehud options that says "Raid icon is under Target Health, player icons are under Player Health," etc.?

I suppose I should make the player icons alpha-fade along with the PlayerHealth bar...they don't currently, do they?

Player status, party leader, loot master, and pvp icons added as per http://jira.wowace.com/browse/ICE-2 . They're available under a new group inside the PlayerHealth module. Click the + sign next to Player Health, select Icon Settings. I've added a config mode to allow you to tweak the placement of all icons and each type of icon can be shown/hidden/placed however you wish.

All icons default on so you'll have to turn them off if you don't want them. Also, the icon placement defaults are setup for the RoundBar bar preset (which is the default) so if you're using HiBar or Bar, you'll have to tweak icon placement yourself.

    Enjoy!

I have one simple request. The invisible box that acts for right-click functionality of the portrait, could you make that an option that can be enabled or disabled? Other than that, the support this mod is getting is awesome, thanks so much!!

This was added when the box was added. Check the PlayerHealth module under "Allow click targeting." The checkbox is at the bottom right above "Animate amount changes." (I play with other unitframes so I personally have click targeting off)

I found the icons and tried to code it up myself as a module, but I didn't really know enough about the Ace libs to do it right.

Can you paste the path to the icons for me? :)

Nonono... I was saying the orphan icon floating off away from the HUD updates. The one that's where it's supposed to be (near the name) also updates. I was replying to your questions about it possibly being related to target/icon or lack thereof of one or both... There is an orphan icon floating off away from the frame. It properly updates to reflect the current target just like the one in the right spot should be.

Let me show you what I'm talking about.

The red-boxed area is the TargetInfo module. It has always had a raid icon built in to it.
The blue-boxed area is the TargetHealth (and mana, in my case) area. It has only recently had a raid icon added to it.

The icon attached to TargetHealth is toggleable in the /icehud options menu. In my case, I play without the TargetInfo module enabled as I have other unitframes to take care of that, so I wanted the raid icon visible above the health bar. Check the TargetHealth module to disable the "orphan" icon above the health bar.

    Question:
Is it possible to put a font configuration?

As soon as you open the /icehud options, there's a Font config box on the top of the right side.

What i really would love to see is a target of target frame (bars) similar to player's pet.

So actual curved bars for ToT instead of the ToT bar that exists now?

    Quote from Kyron »

Also, if you add all those options, like dragons, icons and so on, please make it so the user can also disable them, i really love IceHUD the way it is now and wouldn't want to bloat my screen with infos i either don't need or have somewhere else :)

Everything I've added so far has been completely toggleable. I will continue to do the same.

I've made the player health bar (configurably) clickable in r61033 as per http://jira.wowace.com/browse/ICE-1 .

It reflects the current target and actively updates, I've tried toggling the icon on and off and moving it. Haven't customized anything in probably months and I think mostly all I changed last time I did do something (back before you picked this up) it was to turn combo points off (I use the HUD to supplement unit frames, not replace). I can send you my saved variables file and a list of what's enabled on the toon I've noticed this on (can check others and prune some out probably) but my add-on stable is huge and don't want to spam the forums. :-P

It sounds like it's working like it should. There's a checkbox to turn it off in the TargetHealth module. If that's not working, I can fix it, but if it's updating with targets, then that's correct :).

Getting an orphaned raid icon floating a hair above the top of the bars and a bit to the left. Just looked in my saved variables file, there's almost nothing in there and nothing referencing raid icons. Don't know the specific revision it showed up in, but it's been in the last couple days to maybe a week. Not sure what specific information you want, but let me know and I can try and post it. :-)

Mmm, that sucks...you don't have a target or your target has no raid icon? Try changing targets...does it go away?

Or, do you have any custom settings on your TargetHealth bar? Maybe try un-checking the "show raid icon" checkbox under the TargetHealth module in /icehud settings and re-checking it. I'll see if I can reproduce with reset settings.

Kaelten setup a Jira project for IceHUD for me, so you guys can report bugs there if you like or continue reporting them here and I'll just add bugs for them myself (I think Jira requires a separate login which isn't the most convenient thing ever).

I've already got the aforementioned features tasked out in Jira so anyone interested can track progress.

Just a thought for your DruidMana bar, you could make use of LibDruidMana-1.0 in trunk. DogTag uses that for its druid mana values, so if you use it as well, you can not only eliminate some code and maintenance hassle on your end, but guarantee that the values will always match up.

Yep, that was the plan :). I mentioned LibDruidMana a few pages back as an attractive alternative. I only found out about it by digging through the LibDogTag code (my druid is only recently 70 so I haven't had much need for druid-specific mods). Thanks for the advice!
