its not performance, and it's not even friends....

You will be the blamed person for a lost gold/reagents whatever. Blizzard will say but you installed Addon X, we can't do anything.

If you agreed to some sort of API, one that couldn't be used to do things.. I.e. No trade, no mail, no transfers, then someone would have to hack their own version of your addon, unconstrain the api, and then redistribute the new version... Something not too likely to happen.

If you're not interested in constraining your addon so that no transfers can take place, then be prepared to be blamed for almost any loss, even if you limit it to friends.

all valid points, going to take sharing out.

I did think about the malicious side and I suppose I could make the opportunity to accept scripts even smaller. Only accept from friends list along with confirmation, etc

Running a slightly larger than macro script on startup couldn't possible have that much of a negative impact on performance could it?

I'm new here, could you please post previous discussions?

Oh and which part is the bad idea: sharing or running scripts?

Looking for some input on an addon I'm working on, it's called OutRunner and the latest update can be downloaded at curseforge

It essentially lets me write small scripts so I don't have to use separate addons to do simple tasks. I've also added a sharing feature so I can send them to my friends who also have it running.

Am interested in any thoughts about the efficiency, any possible problems that may arise and some general input.

Some of the scripts I have written/borrowed can be found on it's google sites page

    Thanks
